1 하나님 아버지에 의하여 성결하게 구별되었고 예수 그리스도 안에서 보존되었으며 부르심을 받은 자들에게, 예수 그리스도의 종이요, 야고보의 형제인 유드¹가 편지하노라.

1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2 자비와 평안과 사랑이 너희에게 크게 늘어나기를 기원하노라.

2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3 사랑받는 자들아, 내가 공통된 구원에 관하여 너희에게 기록하는 것에 열심을 다하였을 때, 성도들에게 이전에 전달된 믿음을 위하여 너희가 열렬히 분전해야 함을 내가 너희에게 기록하고, 또 너희에게 권면할 필요를 느꼈노라.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 이는 몰래 기어들어 온 어떤 사람들이 있기 때문이니, 그들은 예로부터 이 정죄를 받도록 미리 정해진 자들이요, 불경건한 자들이요, 우리 하나님의 은혜를 음탕함으로 바꾸면서 유일하신 주 하나님과 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 부인한 자들이라.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

5 그러므로 비록 너희가 한때 이것을 알았을지라도 내가 너희로 하여금 기억하게 하겠으니, 곧 주께서 이집트 지역으로부터 백성을 구원하셨으나 그 후에 믿지 않은 자들을 멸하셨다는 것이라.

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6 그리고 자신들의 처음 신분을 지키지 않고 오히려 자신들의 본래 거처를 떠난 천사들을 그분께서 위대한 날의 심판까지 영원한 사슬들 가운데서 어둠 아래에 남겨 두셨느니라.

6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

7 바로 소돔과 고모-라와 이와 같은 생활 양식 가운데 있는 그것들 주변의 도시들이 스스로를 음행에 내어 주고 이상한 육체를 따라가다가 영존하는 불의 복수를 당하여 본보기로 제시된 것과 같으니라.

7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

8 마찬가지로 이 더러운 꿈쟁이들 역시 육체를 더럽히고 통치권을 멸시하며 위엄 있는 자들에 대하여 악하게 말하느니라.

8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

9 그렇지만 천사장 미카엘은 모세의 몸에 대하여 자신이 논박하며 마귀와 쟁론할 때 그를 대적하여 감히 어떤 욕설로 고소하지 아니하였고 다만 “주께서 너를 꾸짖으시기 바라노라.” 하고 말하였느니라.

9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

10 그러나 이들은 자신들이 모르는 그런 것들에 대하여 악하게 말하느니라. 그러나 그들이 포악한 짐승들처럼 본성적으로 아는 것, 그것들로 그들은 스스로를 부패하게 하느니라.

10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

11 그들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라. 이는 그들이 카인의 길로 갔고 발라암의 과오를 따라 보상을 노리고 탐욕스럽게 달려갔으며 코-레²의 반란으로 멸망하였기 때문이라.

11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

12 그들이 두려움 없이 스스로 배를 채우며 너희와 함께 잔치할 때 이들은 너희의 성도 사랑의 잔치들에 있는 얼룩들이라. 그들은 물 없이 바람들에 이리저리 옮겨지는 구름들이요, 두 번 죽어 뿌리들까지 뽑혀 버리고 열매가 시들어 열매 없는 나무들이며,

12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

13 자기 자신의 수치의 거품을 뿜는 바다의 격정적인 파도들이요, 방황하는 별들이니, 그들에게 칠흑 같은 어둠이 영원토록 확보되어 있느니라.

13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

14 그런즉 아담으로부터 일곱 째 자손인 에녹 역시 이들에 대하여 예언하며 이같이 말하였도다. “보라, 주께서 그분의 수만 성도들과 함께 오시나니,

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 모든 자에게 심판을 집행하려 하심이요, 그들이 불경건하게 저지른 그들의 모든 불경건한 행실들에 관하여 그들 사이에 있는 불경건한 모든 것과 불경건한 죄인들이 그분을 대적하여 말한 그들의 모든 험한 언사들에 유죄 판결을 내리시려 함이라.”

15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

16 이들은 자기 자신의 정욕들을 따라 살아가면서 불평하는 자들이요, 원망하는 자들이라. 그리고 그들의 입은 대단히 크게 과장하는 말들을 이야기하며 잇속 때문에 사람들의 외모들을 추앙하느니라.

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 그러나 사랑받는 자들아, 너희는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 사도들을 통하여 미리 전해진 말씀들을 기억하라.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 곧, 그들이 너희에게 알리기를, 마지막 시대에 조롱하는 자들이 있을 것인데 그들은 그들 자신의 불경건한 정욕들을 따라 살아가는 자들이라 한 것이라.

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 이들은 스스로 분리하는 자들이요, 육욕적이며 성령이 없는 자들이라.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

20 그러나 사랑받는 자들아, 너희는 성령님 안에서 기도하며 너희의 지극히 거룩한 믿음 위에 자신을 세우라.

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 하나님의 사랑 안에서 너희 자신을 지키라. 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 자비를 영생에 이르기까지 고대하라.

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 그리고 어떤 이들에 관하여는 연민을 가지되 차이를 두라.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 또한 다른 이들을 불에서 끄집어내어 그들을 두려움으로 구원하라. 육신에 의하여 얼룩진 의복조차 증오하라.

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24 이제 능히 너희를 쓰러지지 않도록 지키실 수 있으며 그분의 영광의 임재 앞에서 지극한 즐거움으로 너희를 무결하게 제시하실 수 있는 분께,

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 곧 홀로 지혜로우신 하나님 우리 구원자께 지금뿐 아니라 앞으로도 영광과 존엄과 통치권과 권능이 있기를 바라노라. 아멘.

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
