1 오, 흠모할 것이 없는 민족아, 너희는 스스로 함께 모이라. 진정 함께 모이라.
1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2 칙령이 효력을 발휘하기 전에, 그날이 쭉정이같이 지나가기 전에, 주의 맹렬한 분노가 너희 위에 임하기 전에, 주의 분노의 날이 너희 위에 임하기 전에 함께 모이라.
2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.
3 땅의 온유한 자들인 너희 모두여, 너희는 주를 찾으라. 그의 공의를 수행해 온 자들아, 의를 찾으라. 온유를 찾으라. 혹여나 너희가 주의 분노의 날에 숨겨질 수도 있으리라.
3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
4 ¶ 이는 가자가 버려질 것이요, 아슈클론은 황량함이 될 것이기 때문이라. 그들은 아슈돗에서 대낮에 내쫓길 것이요, 에크론은 뿌리 뽑히리라.
4 ¶ For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
5 해안가의 거주자들, 크렛족들의 민족에게 화가 있기를 바라노라! 주의 말이 너희를 대적하노라. 오, 필리스티아인들의 지역 가나안아, 나는 심지어 너를 멸망시키겠으니, 거기에 어떤 거주자도 없으리라.
5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
6 그리하여 해안가는 목자들을 위한 주거지들과 오두막들과 양 떼들을 위한 양우리들이 되리라.
6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
7 그리고 그 지경은 유다 집의 남은 자들을 위한 곳이 되리라. 그들은 그 위에서 잘 먹으리라. 저녁이면 그들이 아슈클론의 집들에 드러누우리라. 이는 주 그들의 하나님이 그들을 찾아올 것이요, 그들의 포로 됨을 되돌릴 것이기 때문이라.
7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
8 ¶ 내가 모압의 비방과 암몬 후손들이 욕하는 것들을 들었으니, 이로써 그들이 나의 백성을 비방하였고, 그들의 경계를 대적하여 스스로를 드높였도다.
8 ¶ I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
9 그러므로 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말하노라. 반드시 모압은 소돔같이 될 것이요, 암몬의 후손들은 고모라같이 되리니, 곧 쐐기풀들의 품종과 소금 구렁들과 영속적인 황량함이 되리라. 나의 백성 중 남아 있는 자들이 그들을 약탈할 것이요, 나의 백성의 남은 자들이 그들을 소유하리라.
9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
10 그들이 자신들의 교만으로 인하여 이런 일을 당하리니, 그들이 만군의 주의 백성을 대적하여 비방하였고 자신을 드높였던 까닭이라.
10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
11 주가 그들에게 공포스러움이 되리니, 그가 땅의 모든 신들을 굶어 죽게 할 것이기 때문이라. 그리하면 사람들이 그를 경배하리니, 모두 저마다 자기 처소에서 나올 것이요, 심지어 이교도들의 모든 섬들도 그리하리라.
11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
12 ¶ 너희, 에티오피아인들아, 너희도 나의 칼에 살해당하리라.
12 ¶ Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.
13 그리고 그가 북쪽을 대적하여 자기 손을 뻗고 아시리아를 멸망시키리라. 그리하여 니네베를 황무지로 만들리니, 광야처럼 메마르게 하리라.
13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
14 그리고 양 떼들이 그녀의 한가운데 드러누울 것이요, 민족들의 모든 짐승들도 그러하리라. 가마우지와 해오라기가 둘 다 그곳의 윗쪽 상인방들 안에 깃들 것이요, 그것들의 목소리가 창문들 안에서 노래할 것이며, 황량함이 문지방들 안에 있으리라. 이는 그가 백향목 제품을 벗겨낼 것이기 때문이라.
14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
15 이것은 크게 기뻐하는 도시니, 태평하게 거하던 도시요, 그녀의 마음속에 말하기를, “나니, 나 외에는 아무도 없느니라.” 하던 도시라. 어떻게 그녀가 황량함이 되고, 짐승들이 드러눕는 장소가 되었는가! 그녀 곁을 지나가는 모든 이마다 쉭쉭대며 야유하고 그의 손을 내저으리라.
15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
