1 마지막으로 형제들아, 우리를 위하여 기도하되 주의 말씀이 자유롭게 퍼져 나가고 영광스럽게 되기를, 곧 그 말씀이 너희와 함께 있는 것처럼 되기를 기도하라.
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 또 불합리하고 사악한 사람들로부터 우리가 구출되도록 기도하라. 이는 모든 사람들이 믿음을 가지고 있는 것은 아니기 때문이라.
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 그러나 주께서는 신실하시니, 그분께서 너희를 확고하게 세우시고 악으로부터 너희를 지키시리라.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 그리고 너희에 관하여 우리가 주 안에서 확신을 갖고 있나니, 곧 우리가 너희에게 명령한 그것들을 너희가 행하고 있으며 또 행하리라는 것이라.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 그리하여 주께서 너희의 마음을 하나님의 사랑과 그리스도를 기다리는 인내 가운데로 인도하여 주시기를 기원하노라.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 형제들아, 이제 우리가 너희에게 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 명령하노니, 무질서하게 살아가고 그 자신이 우리에게서 받은 전통을 따라 살아가지 않는 각각의 형제로부터 스스로 물러나라.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 이는 너희가 어떻게 우리를 마땅히 따라야 하는지를 너희 자신이 알기 때문이니, 우리 스스로 너희 가운데서 무질서하게 처신하지 않았기 때문이라.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 우리가 어떤 사람의 빵이든 거저먹은 적도 없으니, 오히려 우리는 너희 중 누구에게도 신세를 지지 않으려고 밤낮으로 수고와 산고를 치렀노라.
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 이는 우리가 권한이 없어서가 아니요, 다만 우리 자신을 너희에게 본보기로 만들어 우리를 따르게 하려 한 까닭이라.
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 이는 우리가 너희와 함께 있었을 때조차 이것을 우리가 명령하였기 때문이니, 누구든 일하려 하지 않는다면 그는 먹지도 말아야 한다는 것이라.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 이는 너희 가운데 무질서하게 살아가는 어떤 사람들이 있어 전혀 일하지 않으면서 오히려 참견쟁이들이 되었다는 것을 우리가 듣기 때문이라.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 이제 우리가 그러한 자들에게 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 명령하고 권면하노니, 곧 그들은 조용히 일하고 그들 자신의 빵을 먹으라는 것이라.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 그러나 형제들아, 너희는 잘 행하다가 지치지 말라.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 그리고 누구든 이 서신을 통한 우리의 말에 순종하지 않는다면, 그 사람을 주목하고 그와 사귀지 말라. 이는 그로 하여금 부끄러워하게 하려 함이라.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 그럼에도 그를 원수로 여기지 말라. 오히려 그를 형제로서 권고하라.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 이제 화평의 주께서 친히 너희에게 모든 방식으로 항상 평안을 주시기를 기원하노라. 주께서 너희 모두와 함께하시기를 기원하노라.
16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17 나 바울이 나의 손으로 직접 쓴 문안이라. 그것은 모든 서신마다 징표이므로 내가 이렇게 기록하노라.
17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
18 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 너희 모두와 함께 있기를 기원하노라. 아멘.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
