1 보라, 내가 나의 전령을 보내겠으니, 그가 나의 앞에서 그 길을 예비하리라. 그리고 너희가 찾는 주가 갑작스럽게 자신의 성전으로 오리니, 바로 너희가 크게 즐거워하는 언약의 전령이로다. 보라, 그가 오리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 그러나 그가 오는 날에 누가 건재할 수 있으랴? 또 그가 모습을 드러내는 때에 누가 서겠느냐? 이는 그가 정제사의 불 같고 세탁공들의 비누와 같기 때문이라.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
3 그런즉 그가 마치 은의 정제사이자 정화하는 자같이 앉아 있을 것이니, 그는 레위의 아들들을 순수하게 하고 그들을 금과 은같이 정하게 하리라. 이는 그들로 하여금 주께 의 안에서 제물을 바치게 하려 함이라.
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
4 그때 유다와 예루살렘의 봉헌물이 옛날들과 같이, 이전 해들과 같이 주께 기쁨이 되리라.
4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
5 그런즉 내가 심판하기 위해 너희에게 가까이 이르겠노라. 그리하여 나는 신속한 증인이 되어 마법사들을 대적하고, 간음하는 자들을 대적하며, 거짓 맹세하는 자들을 대적하겠고, 또한 품꾼을 그의 품삯으로 압제하며 과부와 아버지 없는 자를 압제하고 타국인을 그의 권리에서 제쳐 두는 자들과 나를 두려워하지 아니하는 자들을 대적하겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
6 이는 내가 주요, 나는 변경하지 않기 때문이라. 그러므로 너희, 야곱의 아들들은 소멸되지 아니하느니라.
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
7 ¶ 심지어 너희 조상들의 날들부터 너희는 나의 법령들을 떠나 버렸고 그것들을 지키지 아니하였도다. 나에게로 되돌아오라. 그리하면 내가 너희에게로 되돌아가겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라. 그러나 너희는 말하기를, “어떤 점에서 저희가 되돌아가야 하나이까?” 하였도다.
7 ¶ Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
8 ¶ 사람이 하나님께 강도 짓을 하겠느냐? 그럼에도 너희는 나에게 강도 짓을 하였도다. 그러나 너희는 말하기를, “어떤 점에서 우리가 당신께 강도 짓을 하였나이까?” 하는도다. 십일조들과 제물들에 있어서 그러하도다.
8 ¶ Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 너희가 저주로 저주를 받았도다. 이는 너희, 곧 이 민족 전체가 나에게 강도 짓을 하였기 때문이라.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 만군의 주가 말하노라. 너희는 모든 십일조들을 저장고로 들여서 나의 집에 음식이 있게 하라. 그리하여 이제 이것으로 내가 너희에게 하늘의 창문들을 열어 그것을 받을 충분한 공간이 없을 만큼 너희에게 복을 쏟아붓지 않는지 나를 입증해 보라.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 그리고 너희를 위하여 나는 집어삼키는 자를 꾸짖겠노라. 그리하면 그는 너희 토양의 열매들을 멸하지 못하리라. 또한 너희 포도나무가 때가 이르기 전에 그녀의 열매를 밭에 떨구지도 아니하리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
12 그리하여 모든 민족들이 너희를 복된 자들이라고 부르리라. 이는 너희가 큰 즐거움의 지역이 될 것이기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
13 ¶ 너희의 말들은 나를 대적하여 완강하였도다. 주가 말하노라. 그럼에도 너희가 말하기를, “저희가 당신을 거슬러 무슨 말을 그리 많이 하였나이까?” 하는도다.
13 ¶ Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?
14 너희가 이같이 말하였도다. “하나님을 섬기는 것이 헛되도다. 그런즉 우리가 그분의 법령을 지킨 것과 우리가 만군의 주 앞에서 애곡함으로 살아갔던 것이 무슨 유익이 있느냐?
14 Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?
15 또한 지금 우리는 교만한 자들을 행복하다고 칭하는도다. 진정 사악함을 조장하는 자들이 세워지나니, 진정 하나님을 시험하는 자들까지도 구출받는도다.”
15 And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.
16 ¶ 그때 주를 두려워한 자들이 빈번히 서로 말하였도다. 그런즉 주가 경청하였고 그것을 들었으니, 주를 두려워한 자들과 그의 이름을 생각한 자들을 위하여 기억의 책 한 권이 그의 앞에서 기록되었도다.
16 ¶ Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
17 그런즉 내가 나의 보석 장식들을 만드는 그날에 그들은 나의 것이 되리니, 만군의 주가 말하노라. 그리하여 나는 마치 남자가 자신을 섬기는 자신의 친아들을 아끼듯이 그들을 아끼겠노라.
17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
18 그때 너희가 되돌아올 것이요, 의로운 자와 사악한 자 사이에서 분별하고, 하나님을 섬기는 자와 그를 섬기지 아니하는 자 사이에서 분별하리라.
18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
