1 보라, 이는 그날이 오기 때문이니, 곧 화덕같이 불탈 날이라. 그런즉 모든 교만한 자들, 진정 사악하게 행하는 모든 자들이 그루터기가 되리라. 그리하여 다가오는 그날이 그들을 태워 버리리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라. 이로써 그날이 그들을 뿌리조차, 가지조차 남기지 아니하리라.

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

2 ¶ 그러나 나의 이름을 두려워하는 너희에게 의의 태양이 그의 날개들 안에 치유를 가지고 떠오르리라. 그리하면 너희가 밖으로 나가서 외양간의 송아지들같이 자라나리라.

2 ¶ But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 그리고 너희가 사악한 자들을 짓밟으리라. 이는 내가 이 일을 행하는 날에 그들이 너희 발바닥 아래에서 재들이 될 것이기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

4 ¶ 너희는 나의 종 모세의 율법을 그 규례들과 공의로운 법규들과 더불어 기억하라. 그 율법은 온 이스라엘을 위하여 내가 호렙에서 그에게 명령한 것이라.

4 ¶ Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

5 ¶ 보라, 주의 위대하고 무시무시한 날이 오기 전에 내가 예언자 엘리야를 너희에게 보내겠노라.

5 ¶ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

6 그리하면 그가 아버지들의 마음을 자식들에게로, 자식들의 마음을 그들의 아버지들에게로 돌이키리니, 이는 내가 와서 땅을 저주로 치지 않게 하려 함이라.

6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
