1 이런 까닭에 너희 이방인들을 위하여 예수 그리스도의 속박된 자인 나 바울은 말하노라.
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 너희를 위하여 나에게 주어지는 하나님의 은혜의 분배 사역을 너희가 들었다면,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 곧 계시로 그분께서 나에게 그 신비를 알게 하신 것을 들었다면, (내가 그 전에 몇 마디 말들로 기록한 것과 같으니,
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
4 너희가 읽을 때면 그것을 통하여 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 나의 지식을 너희가 이해할 수 있으리라.)
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 그것은 다른 시대들에서는 사람들의 아들들에게 알려지지 않았으니, 지금 그분의 거룩한 사도들과 예언자들에게 성령으로 말미암아 계시된 것처럼 알려지지 않았느니라.
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 그것은 이방인들이 복음으로 말미암아 그리스도 안에서 동료 상속자들이 되고 같은 몸에 속하게 되며 그분의 약속의 동참자들이 된다는 것이라.
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
7 나에게 주어진 하나님의 은혜의 선물을 따라 나는 그 복음의 사역자가 되었으니, 그분의 권능의 효과적인 역사로 인한 것이라.
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 모든 성도들 중 가장 작은 자보다 더 작은 나에게 이 은혜가 주어진 것은 내가 그리스도의 헤아릴 수 없는 부요하심을 이방인들 가운데서 선포하게 하려 함이요,
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 세상의 시작부터 하나님 안에 감추어져 온 그 신비의 교제가 무엇인지를 모든 사람들로 하여금 보게 하려 함이니, 그분께서 예수 그리스도를 통하여 모든 것들을 창조하셨느니라.
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 이는 교회를 통하여 이제 하늘의 처소들에 있는 정사들과 권능들에게 하나님의 다양한 지혜를 알게 하려는 의도시니,
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에서 그분께서 목적하신 영존하는 목적에 따른 것이라.
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
12 그분 안에서 우리가 그분의 믿음으로 말미암아 확신과 함께 담대함을 가지고, 또 다가갈 수 있는 권한을 가지느니라.
12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
13 이런 이유로 나는 너희를 위한 나의 환란들로 너희가 낙심하지 않기를 희망하노니, 그 환란들은 너희의 영광이라.
13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
14 이런 까닭에 나는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지께 내 두 무릎을 꿇나니,
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 그분께로부터 하늘과 땅에 있는 온 가족이 이름 지어졌노라.
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 이는 그분께서 자신의 영광의 부요하심에 따라, 속사람 안에 계신 그분의 영에 의하여 너희가 막강함으로 강건하게 되는 것을 허락해 주시도록 기도하려 함이라.
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 또 믿음으로 그리스도께서 너희의 마음속에 거하게 하려 함이니, 너희로 하여금 사랑 안에서 뿌리를 내리고 터를 잡아
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 그 너비와 길이와 깊이와 높이가 무엇인지 모든 성도들과 함께 깨달을 수 있게 하려 함이라.
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 그리고 지식을 초월한 그리스도의 사랑을 알게 함으로써 너희가 하나님의 모든 충만하심으로 채워지도록 하려 함이라.
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 이제 우리 안에서 역사하는 권능을 따라 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 모든 것 이상으로 지극히 넘치게 행하실 수 있는 분께,
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 곧 그분께 영광이 있기를 바라노니, 교회 안에서 그리스도 예수를 통하여 모든 시대들, 곧 끝없는 세상에 걸쳐 그분께 영광이 있기를 바라노라. 아멘.
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
