1 그러므로 그리스도의 교리의 원칙들을 떠나 우리가 완전함으로 나아가자. 그 기초를 다시 놓지 말지니, 죽은 행위들에서의 회개에 관한 기초와 하나님을 향한 믿음에 관한 기초와
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 침례들의 교리에 관한 기초와 두 손으로 안수함에 관한 기초와 죽은 자들의 부활에 관한 기초와 영존하는 심판에 관한 기초라.
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 그런즉 만일 하나님께서 허용하시면 우리가 이것을 하리라.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
4 이는 한 번 빛을 받았고 하늘의 선물을 맛보았으며 성령님의 동참자들이 되었고
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 하나님의 선한 말씀과 다가올 세상의 권능들을 맛보았던 자들,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 바로 그들이 만일 떨어져 나가면 그들을 다시 회개에 이르도록 새롭게 하는 것이 불가능하기 때문이니, 그들이 자신들을 위하여 하나님의 아들을 새로이 십자가에 못 박아서 그분을 노골적으로 수치스럽게 했기 때문이라.
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 이는 땅이 그 위에 자주 내리는 비를 흡수하여 그것을 가꾼 자들에게 알맞은 야채들을 내면 그 땅이 하나님께로부터 복을 받지만
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 가시나무들과 찔레들을 내는 땅은 버림받고 저주가 가까워 그 땅의 끝은 불태워지는 것이기 때문이라.
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
9 그러나 사랑받는 자들아, 우리가 그와 같이 말하여도 우리는 너희에게 더 좋은 것들과 구원을 동반하는 것들이 있음을 확신하게 되었도다.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
10 이는 하나님께서는 불의하지 않으셔서, 너희의 행위와 사랑의 수고를 잊지 않으시기 때문이라. 그것은 너희가 성도들을 섬겨 왔고 또 섬기고 있는 것으로 너희가 그분의 이름을 향하여 보인 것이라.
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11 그리고 우리는 너희 각자가 끝까지 소망의 전적인 확신에 대해 동일한 부지런함을 보여 주기를 희망하노라.
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12 이는 너희로 하여금 게으른 자가 되지 않고, 오히려 믿음과 인내를 통하여 약속들을 상속받는 자들을 따르는 자들이 되게 하려 함이라.
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 이는 하나님께서 아브라함에게 약속하셨을 때 그분께서 더 위대한 이를 두고 맹세하실 수 없는 까닭에 친히 자신을 두고 맹세하시면서
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “내가 너에게 반드시 복을 주고 복을 주겠노라. 그리고 내가 너를 번성하게 하고 번성하게 하겠노라.”
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15 그렇게 하여 그가 인내로 견딘 후에, 그는 그 약속하신 것을 얻어 냈느니라.
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16 이는 사람들이 진실로 더 위대한 이를 두고 맹세하기 때문이라. 그리하여 확정을 위한 맹세는 그들에게 모든 분쟁의 종결이라.
16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
17 그 점에서 하나님께서는 약속의 상속인들에게 그분의 계획의 불변함을 더욱 넘치게 보여 주시려고 맹세로 그것을 확정하셨느니라.
17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
18 이는 하나님께서 거짓말하시는 것이 불가능한 두 가지 불변하는 것들을 통하여, 우리 앞에 세워진 소망을 붙잡기 위해 피난처로 도피한 우리로 하여금 강력한 위안을 얻게 하려 하심이라.
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 우리는 이 소망을 마치 혼의 닻같이 가지고 있나니, 확실하면서도 확고하여 휘장막 내부로 들어가느니라.
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 앞서 달려가신 분께서 우리를 위하여 거기로 들어가셨으니, 바로 예수님이시요, 영원토록 멜키세덱의 계열에 따른 대제사장이 된 분이시라.
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
