1 이제 다윗이 그의 집 안에 앉아 있는 동안 이러한 일이 있었으니, 다윗이 예언자 나단에게 말하기를, “보라, 나는 백향목들로 된 집 안에서 거하나, 주의 언약궤는 가림막들 아래 남아 있도다.” 하였더라.
1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.
2 그때 나단이 다윗에게 말하기를, “당신의 마음속에 있는 모든 것을 행하소서. 이는 하나님께서 당신과 함께하시기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.
2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.
3 ¶ 그리고 바로 그날 밤에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 하나님의 말씀이 나단에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
3 ¶ And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
4 “가서 나의 종 다윗에게 알리라. ‘주가 이같이 말하노라. 너는 나를 위해 거할 집을 짓지 말지니라.
4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
5 이는 내가 이스라엘을 데리고 올라온 그날 이래로 오늘날까지 나는 집 안에 거한 적이 없었고, 오히려 천막에서 천막으로, 한 장막에서 다른 장막으로 옮겨 다녔기 때문이라.
5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
6 내가 온 이스라엘과 함께 거닐었던 곳 어디에서든지, 내가 나의 백성을 먹이라고 명령한, 이스라엘의 판관들 중 어느 누구에게 내가 일러 말하기를, ‘어찌하여 너희가 나에게 백향목들로 된 집을 지어 주지 아니하였느냐?’라고 말하였느냐?’
6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?
7 그러므로 이제 나의 종 다윗에게 너는 이같이 말할지니라. ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노니, 내가 너를 양을 기르는 우리에서, 곧 양을 따르는 데서 데려다가, 네가 나의 백성 이스라엘을 다스리는 치리자가 되도록 하려는 것이었노라.
7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:
8 그리고 나는 네가 어디로 걸어가든지 너와 함께 있어 왔고, 너의 앞에서 너의 모든 원수들을 끊어 버렸으며, 땅에 있는 위대한 사람들의 이름같은 이름을 너에게 만들어 주었노라.
8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
9 또한 나는 나의 백성 이스라엘을 위하여 한 장소를 정하여 그들을 심겠으니, 그들은 그들의 장소 안에서 거할 것이요, 더 이상 움직이지 아니하리라. 또한 사악한 자녀들이 그들을 더 이상 초기와 같이 황폐하게 하지 못하리라.
9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
10 그런즉 내가 판관들에게 나의 백성 이스라엘을 다스리도록 명령한 때 이후로 그러하리라. 더욱이 내가 너의 모든 원수들을 정복하겠노라. 이에 더하여 주가 너에게 집을 지어 줄 것임을 내가 너에게 알리노라.
10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
11 ¶ 그리고 너의 날들이 만료되어 네가 너의 조상들과 함께 있도록 가야만 하는 때에 이러한 일이 있으리니, 내가 너의 아들들 중에 있을 너의 뒤를 잇는 너의 씨를 세우겠노라. 그리하여 내가 그의 왕국을 확고히 세우겠노라.
11 ¶ And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
12 그가 나에게 집을 지어 줄 것이요, 내가 그의 보좌를 영원토록 확고하게 세우겠노라.
12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
13 나는 그의 아버지가 되겠으며 그는 나의 아들이 되리라. 또 내가 너의 앞에 있었던 자에게서 나의 자비를 거두어 갔듯이 그에게서는 내가 나의 자비를 거두지 아니하겠노라.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
14 오히려 내가 그를 나의 집과 나의 왕국 안에 영원토록 세우겠노라. 그리하여 그의 보좌가 영원히 확고히 세워지리라.’”
14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.
15 이 모든 말씀들에 따라, 또 이 모든 현시에 따라 나단이 다윗에게 그렇게 고하였더라.
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
16 ¶ 그러자 다윗왕이 주의 앞으로 와서 앉았으며 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “오, 주 하나님이여, 제가 누구기에, 또 저의 집이 무엇이기에, 당신께서 저를 여기까지 데려오셨나이까?
16 ¶ And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
17 오, 하나님이여, 그럼에도 불구하고 이것은 당신의 눈들에 작은 것이었나이다. 이는 당신께서는 또한 당신의 종의 집에 관하여 아주 먼 미래에 대해 이야기하셨고, 오, 주 하나님이여, 저를 높은 지위의 신분을 지닌 사람같이 여기셨기 때문이니이다.
17 And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
18 당신의 종의 존귀로 인하여 다윗이 당신께 무엇을 더 말할 수 있겠나이까? 이는 당신께서 당신의 종을 아시기 때문이니이다.
18 What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.
19 오, 주여, 이는 당신의 종을 위하여 당신 자신의 마음에 따라 이 모든 위대한 일들을 알게 하심으로써 당신께서 이 모든 위대한 것을 행하셨나이다.
19 O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
20 오, 주여, 우리가 우리의 귀로 들어 온 모든 것에 따르면 당신과 같은 분은 아무도 없으며, 당신 외에 어떤 하나님도 없나이다.
20 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
21 그리고 땅에서 어떤 민족이 하나라도 당신의 백성 이스라엘과 같나이까? 그들은 하나님께서 그분 소유의 백성이 되게 하시려고 구속하러 가셨으며, 당신께서 이집트로부터 구속하신 당신의 백성 앞에서 민족들을 내쫓으심으로써 당신께서 위대하고 공포스러운 이름을 내셨나이다.
21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
22 이는 당신께서 당신의 백성 이스라엘을 영원토록 당신 소유의 백성으로 만드셨기 때문이니이다. 그런즉 당신, 주께서는 그들의 하나님이 되셨나이다.
22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.
23 그러므로 이제, 주여, 당신께서 당신의 종에 관하여, 또 그의 집에 관하여 언급하신 것이 영원토록 확고히 세워지게 하시고 당신께서 말씀하신 대로 행하소서.
23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
24 그 일이 더욱 확고히 세워지게 하시어 당신의 이름이 영원토록 드높여져서 ‘만군의 주께서는 이스라엘의 하나님이시니, 바로 이스라엘에게 한 하나님이시로다.’ 하고 말하게 하소서. 그리고 당신의 종 다윗의 집이 당신 앞에서 확고히 세워지게 하소서.
24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
25 오, 나의 하나님이여, 이는 당신께서 당신의 종에게 집을 지어 주시겠다고 친히 그에게 알리셨기 때문이니이다. 그러므로 당신의 종이 당신 앞에서 기도드려야 함을 자신의 마음속에서 발견하였나이다.
25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
26 그런즉 이제, 주여, 당신께서는 하나님이시며 당신의 종에게 이 선한 것을 약속하셨나이다.
26 And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
27 그러므로 이제 당신의 종의 집에 복을 주시는 것이 당신을 기쁘게 해 드려 그의 집이 영원토록 당신 앞에 있게 하소서. 이는, 당신께서 복을 주시므로, 오, 주여, 그의 집이 영원토록 복을 받을 것이기 때문이니이다.”
27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.
