1 또한 메데인 다리우스의 제일년에 나, 바로 내가 서서 그를 확고히 하고 강성하게 하였느니라.
1 Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.
2 그리고 이제는 내가 너에게 진리를 보여 주겠노라. 보라, 페르시아에서 세 명의 왕들이 더 일어서리라. 그리고 네 번째는 그들 모두보다 훨씬 부유하리라. 그런즉 그는 그의 힘을 통하여 그의 재물들을 동원해서 헬라의 국토를 대적하도록 모두를 격동시키리라.
2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
3 그리고 한 막강한 왕이 일어서리니, 대단한 통치권으로 다스리며 자기 뜻대로 행하리라.
3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
4 그리고 그가 일어설 때 그의 왕국은 깨어질 것이요, 하늘의 네 바람들을 향하여 나누어지리라. 그런 다음에 그 왕국은 그의 후대에 이르지 아니하고 그가 다스렸던 그의 통치권을 따르지도 아니하리라. 이는 그의 왕국이 실로 그들이 아닌 다른 이들을 위하여 뽑혀 버릴 것이기 때문이라.
4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
5 ¶ 그런 다음에 남쪽 왕이 강해질 것이요, 그의 통치자들 가운데 하나가 강해지리라. 그리고 그는 그 이상으로 강해져서 통치권을 잡으리라. 그의 통치권은 대단한 통치권이 되리라.
5 ¶ And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
6 그리고 그해들의 끝에 그들은 서로 연합하리라. 이는 남쪽 왕의 딸이 북쪽 왕에게 와서 협정을 맺을 것이기 때문이라. 그러나 그녀는 팔의 권세를 유지하지 못할 것이요, 그도 서지 못하고 그의 팔도 서지 못하리라. 오히려 그녀는 버려지리니, 그녀를 데려온 자들과 그녀를 낳은 자와 이런 때들에 그녀에게 힘을 주던 자가 버려지리라.
6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
7 그러나 그녀의 뿌리들에 속한 가지에서 나온 이가 그의 영지에서 일어설 것이요, 군사를 거느리고 올 것이며, 북쪽 왕의 견고한 요새로 침입할 것이요, 그들과 대치할 것이며, 승리할 것이요,
7 But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
8 포도들을 그들의 신들과 그들의 통치자들과 그들의 귀한 은그릇들과 금그릇들과 함께 이집트로 데려갈 것이며, 그가 북쪽 왕보다 여러 해를 더 지속하리라.
8 And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
9 그렇게 하여 남쪽 왕이 그의 왕국으로 들어갈 것이요, 또 그의 본토로 되돌아가리라.
9 So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
10 그러나 그의 아들들이 격동될 것이요, 엄청난 전력들을 둔 무리를 결집하리라. 그리하여 틀림없이 한 명이 와서 휩쓸며 지나가리라. 그때 그가 되돌아올 것이요, 격동되어 그의 견고한 요새에까지 이르리라.
10 But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
11 그리고 남쪽 왕은 분통이 터지리니, 밖으로 나와서 그, 곧 북쪽 왕과 싸우리라. 그리하여 그는 엄청난 무리를 배치할 것이나 그 무리는 그의 손안에 주어지리라.
11 And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
12 그런즉 그가 그 무리를 제거하였을 때 그의 마음이 치켜세워지리라. 그리하여 그가 수만 명을 넘어뜨릴 것이나 그는 그것에 의하여 강성하게 되지는 못하리라.
12 And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
13 이는 북쪽 왕이 되돌아올 것이요, 이전보다 더 수많은 무리를 배치할 것이며, 틀림없이 수년 뒤에 엄청난 군사와 함께 많은 재물들을 거느리고 돌아올 것이기 때문이라.
13 For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
14 그리하면 그러한 때들에 많은 이들이 남쪽 왕을 대적하여 일어서리라. 또한 너의 백성을 강탈한 자들도 스스로를 크게 높여 그 현시를 확립하려고 하리라. 그러나 그들은 쓰러지리라.
14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.
15 그렇게 북쪽 왕이 와서 토루를 쌓아 올리고 가장 방비가 강화된 도시들을 점령하리라. 그리하면 남쪽의 군대들은 견디어 내지 못할 것이요, 그의 선정된 백성도 견디어 내지 못할 것이니, 대항할 어떤 힘도 없으리라.
15 So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
16 그러나 그를 대적하여 오는 자가 자기 자신의 뜻대로 행할 것이니, 아무도 그의 앞에 서지 못하리라. 또 그가 영광스러운 지역에 설 것이니, 그 지역은 그의 손에 의하여 진멸되리라.
16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed.
17 그가 또한 자신의 온 왕국의 힘을 동원하여 들어가려고 자신의 얼굴을 고정하리니, 올바른 이들이 그의 곁에 있으리라. 이와 같이 그가 행하리라. 그리고 그가 여자들의 딸을 부패시키면서 그에게 그녀를 줄 것이나 그녀는 그의 편에 서지 아니할 것이요, 그를 위하지도 아니하리라.
17 He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
18 이런 일이 있은 후에 그가 자기 얼굴을 섬들로 돌이키리니 많은 섬들을 점령하리라. 그러나 한 통치자가 그에게서 제기된 비방을 자기 자신을 위하여 그치게 하리라. 그는 자기 자신에 대한 비방을 탈피하고 그것을 그에게로 돌리리라.
18 After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
19 그때 그가 자기 본토의 보루를 향하여 자기 얼굴을 돌리리라. 그러나 그는 걸려 넘어지고 쓰러져서 다시는 발견되지 아니하리라.
19 Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found.
20 그때 그 왕국의 영광 가운데서 세금들을 징수하는 자가 자신의 영지에 서리라. 그러나 그는 며칠이 못 되어 멸망하리니, 분노나 전쟁에 의하지 아니하고도 그리되리라.
20 Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
21 그리고 그의 영지에서 한 비열한 인물이 서리니, 그들은 그에게 왕국의 영예를 주지 아니하리라. 그러나 그는 평화롭게 들어와서 아첨들로 그 왕국을 얻어 내리라.
21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 그리고 홍수 같은 군대들로 인하여 그들이 그의 앞에서 휩쓸릴 것이요, 파탄이 나리라. 진정 그 언약의 통치자도 그러하리라.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 그리고 그와 맹약이 체결된 이후에 그는 가득한 속임수로 활동하리라. 이는 그가 올라올 것이요, 어느 미미한 백성과 더불어 강해질 것이기 때문이라.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 그는 평화롭게 진입하리니, 곧 속주의 가장 기름진 곳들로 진입하리라. 그런 다음에 그는 그의 조상들이 행하지 아니한 일을 행할 것이니, 그의 조상들의 조상들도 행하지 아니하던 일이라. 그는 전리품과 약탈물과 재물들을 그들 가운데 뿌리리라. 그리고 진정 그는 자신의 계책들을 미리 꾸며서 강한 요새들을 대적할 것이니, 무려 한 때 동안 그리하리라.
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
25 그리고 그는 자신의 권세와 자신의 용기를 격동시켜 엄청난 군사를 거느리고 남쪽 왕을 대적하리라. 그리하면 남쪽 왕도 아주 엄청나고 막강한 군사를 거느리고 전투하려고 격동되리라. 그러나 그는 맞서지 못하리라. 이는 그들이 그를 대적하여 계책들을 미리 꾸밀 것이기 때문이라.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
26 진정 그의 음식의 몫을 제공받는 자들이 그를 멸망시킬 것이요, 그의 군사가 휩쓸리니, 그리하면 많은 이들이 살해당하여 쓰러지리라.
26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
27 이후에 이 왕들의 마음은 양쪽 다 위해를 가하려고 하리니, 그들은 한 식탁에서 거짓말들로 이야기하리라. 그러나 그 일은 형통하지 아니하리라. 이는 여전히 그 끝이 정해진 때에 있을 것이기 때문이라.
27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
28 그때 그가 엄청난 재물들을 가지고 그의 영토로 귀환할 것이요, 그의 마음은 거룩한 언약을 대적하리라. 이후에 그는 공훈들을 세우다가 자기 본토로 귀환하리라.
28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
29 정해진 때에 그는 다시 돌이켜서 남쪽을 향하여 쳐들어오리라. 그러나 그것은 그 이전이나 그 이후만 못하리라.
29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
30 ¶ 이는 킷팀의 선박들이 그를 대적하여 올 것이기 때문이라. 그러므로 그가 통탄해하며 되돌아가서 그 거룩한 언약을 대적하여 격분하리라. 그가 이처럼 행하리니, 그는 실로 되돌아가서 그 거룩한 언약을 저버리는 자들과 정보를 교환하리라.
30 ¶ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
31 그리고 군대들이 그의 편에 서리니 그들은 힘의 성소를 오염시킬 것이요, 매일의 희생 제물을 제거하리라. 그리고 그들은 황량하게 만드는 가증함을 두리라.
31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
32 그러고 나서 그는 그 언약을 대적하여 사악하게 행하는 자들을 아첨들로 부패시키리라. 그러나 자신들의 하나님을 아는 백성은 강해져서 공훈들을 세우리라.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 그리고 백성 가운데 명철한 자들이 많은 이들을 지도하리라. 그럼에도 그들은 많은 날들 동안 칼과 불꽃과포로 생활과 약탈에 의하여 쓰러지리라.
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 이제 그들이 쓰러질 때 그들은 적은 도움으로 도움받을 것이나 많은 이들이 아첨들로 그들에게 달라붙으리라.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 그리고 명철을 지닌 자들 중 일부가 쓰러지리니, 그들을 정련하고자 함이요, 깨끗하게 하고자 함이요, 그들을 희게 만들고자 함이니, 실로 종말의 때까지 그리하리라. 이는 아직 정해진 때가 되지 않았기 때문이라.
35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
36 그리고 그 왕은 자신의 뜻에 따라 행하리라. 또 그는 스스로를 크게 높이며 자신을 각각의 모든 신을 뛰어넘는 존재로 드높일 것이요, 신들의 하나님을 대적하여 비상한 것들을 이야기하리니, 그 격분이 모두 발산될 때까지는 형통하리라. 이는 그 확정된 것이 이루어질 것이기 때문이라.
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 또한 그가 자기 조상들의 하나님을 개의치 아니할 것이요, 여자들의 욕망도 개의치 아니할 것이며, 어떤 신도 개의치 아니하리라. 이는 그가 모든 것보다 자신을 드높일 것이기 때문이라.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38 그러나 그는 자신의 영지에서 전력들의 신을 공경하리라. 그리고 그는 자기 조상들이 몰랐던 한 신을 공경하리니, 금과 은으로, 또 보석들과 기쁨을 주는 것들로 그리하리라.
38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 그가 지극히 강한 요새들 안에서 타국 신과 더불어 이와 같이 행하리니, 그는 그 신을 인정하고 그 신의 영광을 늘리리라. 그리고 그는 그들로 하여금 많은 이들을 다스리게 할 것이요, 이득을 위하여 그 지역을 분배하리라.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
40 그리고 종말의 때에 남쪽 왕이 그를 밀어붙이리라. 그리하면 북쪽 왕이 그를 대적하여 회오리바람같이 오리니, 병거들과 기병들과 많은 선박들을 대동하리라. 그리하여 그가 여러 나라들로 들어가서 휩쓸고 지나가리라.
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 그가 또한 영광스러운 지역으로 들어갈 것이요, 많은 나라들이 뒤엎어지리라. 그러나 이들은 그의 손에서 빠져나가리니, 바로 에돔과, 모압과, 암몬의 후손들의 우두머리들이라.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
42 그는 또한 자기 손을 국가들 위로 뻗치리니 이집트 땅은 피하지 못하리라.
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 그러나 그는 금과 은의 보물들을 다스리고 이집트의 모든 보화들을 다스리는 권세를 가지리라. 그리고 리비아인들과 에티오피아인들도 그의 족적들에 있으리라.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
44 그러나 동쪽과 북쪽에서 나오는 소식들이 그를 곤욕스럽게 하리라. 그러므로 그는 엄청난 노여움으로 출진하리니, 멸망시키기 위함이요, 많은 이들을 모조리 쓸어 버리기 위함이라.
44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
45 그리하여 그가 영광스럽고 거룩한 산속에서 바다들 사이에 있는 자기 궁전의 장막들을 고정시키리라. 그럼에도 그는 자신의 종말에 이를 것이요, 그를 도울 자가 아무도 없으리라.
45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
