1 처음 나에게 나타난 현시 이후 벨샤잘왕의 통치 제삼년에 현시가 나에게 나타났으니, 바로 나, 다니엘에게라.
1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
2 그리하여 내가 현시 가운데 보았노라. 그리고 내가 보았을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 내가 엘람에 속한 속주 안에 있는 슈샨궁에 있었노라. 그리고 내가 현시 가운데 보았는데 나는 울라이강 가에 있었노라.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
3 그때 내가 나의 두 눈을 들어서 보았더니, 보라, 강 앞에 두 뿔들을 가진 숫양 한 마리가 섰는데 그 두 뿔들은 높이 솟았더라. 그러나 하나가 다른 것보다 높이 솟았고 더 높이 솟은 것은 나중에 올라왔더라.
3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 내가 서쪽 방향과 북쪽 방향과 남쪽 방향으로 밀어붙이는 그 숫양을 보았더니, 어떤 짐승들도 그의 앞에 설 수 없었더라. 또한 그의 손에서 구출할 수 있는 어떤 자도 없었더라. 오직 그는 그의 뜻에 따라 행하며 대단히 커졌더라.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 그리하여 내가 숙고하고 있었을 때, 보라, 한 숫염소가 서쪽에서부터 나와서 온 땅의 표면 위를 달리며 지면을 건드리지 아니하였더라. 그리고 그 염소에게는 그의 눈들 사이에 두드러지는 뿔 하나가 있었더라.
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
6 그리고 그는 내가 강 앞에 서 있던 것을 목격했던 그 두 뿔들이 달린 숫양에게 왔고, 자신의 권세의 노여움 가운데 그를 향하여 내달렸더라.
6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
7 그리고 나는 그 숫양에게 가까이 온 그를 보았는데 그는 그에 대하여 분통이 터졌고 그 숫양을 쳐서 그의 두 뿔들을 꺾었더라. 그러자 숫양에게는 그의 앞에 설 기력이 없었더라. 그러나 그는 그를 땅바닥에 던져 버렸으며, 그를 발로 내리찍었더라. 그런데 그 숫양을 그의 손에서 구출할 수 있는 자가 아무도 없었더라.
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 그러므로 그 숫염소가 아주 대단히 커졌더라. 그리고 그가 강해졌을 때 그 커다란 뿔이 꺾였더라. 그리고 그것 대신에 하늘의 네 바람들을 향하여 두드러진 네 뿔들이 올라왔더라.
8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
9 그리고 그것들 중 하나에서 작은 뿔 하나가 밖으로 나왔는데, 그 작은 뿔은 남쪽을 향하여, 동쪽을 향하여, 기쁨을 주는 지역을 향하여 지극히 대단히 커졌더라.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 그리고 그것이 하늘의 군대에 이르기까지 대단히 커졌더라. 그리고 그것이 그 군대 가운데 얼마와 별들 가운데 얼마를 지면에 던져 버렸고 그것들을 발로 내리찍었더라.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 진정 그가 자신을 그 군대의 통치자에게까지 드높였으니, 그에 의하여 매일의 희생 제물이 제거되었고 그의 성소의 장소도 무너졌더라.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 그리고 불법으로 인한 매일의 희생 제물을 대적하여 한 군대가 그에게 주어졌으니, 그것이 진리를 땅바닥에 던져 버렸더라. 그리고 그것은 악한 계략을 쓰며 번영하였더라.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 ¶ 그때 내가 한 성도가 이야기하는 것을 들었는데 다른 성도가 이야기하던 바로 그 성도에게 말하기를, “매일의 희생 제물에 관한 현시와 황량함의 불법에 관한 현시, 곧 성소와 군대 둘 다 발아래 짓밟히도록 내어주는 것이 얼마나 오래 지속되겠느냐?” 하였더라.
13 ¶ Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 그러자 그가 나에게 말하기를, “이천삼백 일까지라. 그때 성소가 정결하게 되리라.” 하였더라.
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
15 ¶ 그리고 나, 바로 나, 다니엘이 그 현시를 보고 그 의미를 구하였을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그때 보라, 사람의 모양 같은 것이 내 앞에 서 있더라.
15 ¶ And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 그리고 내가 울라이강의 둑들 사이에서 한 사람의 음성을 들었는데 그가 부르며 말하기를, “가브리엘아, 이 사람에게 그 현시를 이해시키라.” 하였더라.
16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
17 그렇게 하여 그는 내가 선 곳까지 가까이 왔더라. 이윽고 그가 왔을 때 나는 무서워서 나의 얼굴을 대고 엎드렸더라. 그러나 그가 나에게 말하기를, “오, 사람의 아들아, 이해하라. 이는 종말의 때에 그 현시가 있을 것이기 때문이라.” 하였더라.
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
18 이때 그가 나와 이야기하고 있었을 때 나는 나의 얼굴을 땅바닥으로 향한 채 깊은 잠이 들었더라. 그러나 그가 나에게 손을 대었고 나를 똑바로 세웠더라.
18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 그런 다음에 그가 이같이 말하였더라. “보라, 내가 격분의 마지막 끝에 있을 것을 너에게 알리겠노라. 이는 정해진 때에 끝이 있을 것이기 때문이라.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
20 네가 목격한, 두 뿔들이 달린 숫양은 메디아와 페르시아의 왕들이라.
20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
21 그리고 그 거친 염소는 헬라 왕이라. 그리고 그의 두 눈 사이에 있는 커다란 뿔은 첫 번째 왕이니라.
21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
22 이제 꺾여 있는 그것 대신에 넷이 일어섰으니, 네 왕국들이 그 민족으로부터 나와서 일어설 것이나 그의 권세만은 못하리라.
22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.
23 그리고 그들의 왕국에서 마지막에 가까운 시대에 불법을 행하는 자들이 충만함에 이르렀을 때, 험악한 용모를 지닌 채 난해한 문장들을 이해하는 왕이 일어서리라.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
24 그리고 그의 권세가 막강할 것이나 자신의 고유한 권세에 의한 것은 아니니라. 또, 그는 기이할 정도로 멸망시킬 것이요, 번영하며 악한 계략을 쓸 것이요, 막강한 자들과 거룩한 백성을 멸하리라.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 그리고 그는 자신의 정책을 통해서도 술수를 자기 손안에서 형통하게 할 것이며, 그는 자기 마음속으로 스스로를 드높일 것이니, 평화를 써서 많은 이들을 멸하리라. 그는 또한 통치자들 중의 통치자를 대적하여 일어서리라. 그러나 손을 대지 아니하고도 그가 부서지리라.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
26 그리고 이미 알려진 저녁과 아침에 관한 그 현시는 참되니라. 이러한 이유로 너는 그 현시를 차단하라. 이는 많은 날들이 지나고 그것이 있을 것이기 때문이라.”
26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
27 그러고 나서 나, 다니엘은 실신하였고 며칠 동안 앓았노라. 그 후에 내가 일어나서 왕의 임무를 행하였더라. 그리하여 나는 그 현시에 경악하였으나 아무도 그것을 이해하지 못하였더라.
27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
