1 그리고 이 일들이 있은 후에 또 다른 천사가 크나큰 권능을 가지고 하늘로부터 내려오는 것을 보았는데 땅이 그의 영광으로 환해졌더라.
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 그리고 그가 우렁찬 목소리로 매우 힘 있게 외치며 이같이 말하였더라. “거대한 바빌론이 무너졌도다, 무너졌도다. 그런즉 그 바빌론이 마귀들의 거처와 각각의 부정한 영의 요새와 각각의 불결하고 증오스러운 새의 새장이 되었도다.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 이는 모든 민족들이 그녀의 음행에서 비롯된 진노의 포도주를 마셨고 땅의 왕들이 그녀와 더불어 음행하였으며 땅의 상인들이 그녀의 별미들의 풍요함으로 점점 부유해졌기 때문이라.”
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 그리고 내가 하늘로부터 또 다른 음성을 들었으니 이같이 말하였더라. “나의 백성아, 그녀에게서 나오라. 그리하여 너희는 그녀의 죄들의 동참자들이 되지 말고 너희는 그녀의 재앙들을 받지 말라.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 이는 그녀의 죄들이 하늘까지 닿았고 하나님께서 그녀의 죄악들을 기억하셨기 때문이라.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 그녀가 너희에게 보응한 그대로 그녀에게 보응하라. 그리고 그녀에게 두 배로 갚아 주되, 그녀의 행위들에 따라 두 배로 갚아 주라. 그녀가 채운 잔 속에 두 배로 그녀에게 채워 주라.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 그녀가 자신을 영화롭게 하고 매우 맛있게 먹으며 살았던 만큼 그녀에게 그처럼 심한 고통과 슬픔을 주라. 이는 그녀가 그녀의 마음속에 말하기를, ‘나는 여왕으로 앉아 있고 과부가 전혀 아니니, 슬픔을 전혀 보지 아니하리라.’ 하기 때문이라.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 그러므로 그녀의 재앙들이 하루 만에 임하리니, 죽음과 애곡과 기근이라. 그리고 그녀가 철저히 불로 태워지리라. 이는 그녀를 심판하시는 주 하나님께서 강하시기 때문이라.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 그리고 땅의 왕들, 곧 그녀와 함께 음행하였고 매우 맛있게 먹으며 살았던 자들은 그들이 그녀가 태워지는 연기를 볼 때 그녀로 인하여 통곡하고 그녀를 위하여 애통해하리라.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 그녀의 심한 고통에 대한 두려움으로 인하여 멀리 떨어져 서서 말하기를, ‘아, 슬프도다, 아, 슬프도다. 저 거대한 도시 바빌론이여, 저 막강한 도시여! 이는 한 시간 만에 너의 심판이 임하였기 때문이라.’ 하니라.
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 그리고 땅의 상인들도 그녀에 대하여 울며 애곡하리라. 이는 아무도 그들의 상품을 더 이상 사지 않기 때문이라.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 그 상품은 금과 은과 보석들이요, 진주들과 고운 아마포와 자주색 옷감과 비단과 주홍색 옷감과 모든 향목과 온갖 부류의 상아 그릇들과 온갖 부류의 지극히 귀한 목재와 놋과 철과 대리석으로 만든 그릇들이요,
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 시나몬과 향품들과 향유들과 유향과 포도즙과 기름과 고운 곡물 가루와 밀과 짐승들과 양들과 말들과 병거들과 종속 노예들과 사람들의 혼들이라.
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 그리고 너의 혼이 정욕을 따라 추구했던 열매들이 너에게서 떠났고 맛 좋고 질 좋은 모든 것들이 너에게서 떠났으니, 너는 그것들을 결코 다시는 발견하지 못하리라.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 그녀에 의하여 부유하게 되었던, 이런 것들의 상인들은 그녀의 심한 고통에 대한 두려움으로 인하여 멀리 떨어져 서서 울고 통곡을 하며
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 이같이 말하리라. ‘아, 슬프도다, 아, 슬프도다, 고운 아마포와 자주색 옷감과 주홍색 옷감으로 옷 입혀졌고 금과 보석들과 진주들로 꾸며졌던 저 거대한 도시여!
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 이는 한 시간 만에 그토록 막대한 재물들이 없어졌기 때문이라.’ 또한 각각의 선장과 선박들 안에 함께 있는 집단 전체와 항해자들과 바다를 통하여 무역하는 자들은 모두 멀리 떨어져 서 있었는데,
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 그들이 그녀가 태워지는 연기를 보자 외치며 말하기를, ‘어느 도시가 이 거대한 도시에 비견되리요!’ 하였더라.
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 그러고는 그들이 그들의 머리 위에 티끌을 뿌렸으며 울고 통곡하면서 외쳐 말하기를, ‘아, 슬프도다, 아, 슬프도다, 저 거대한 도시여, 그녀의 고가의 상품으로 인하여 바다에서 선박들을 가진 자들 모두를 부유하게 하였던 도시여! 이는 한 시간 만에 그녀가 황량하게 되었기 때문이라.’ 하였더라.
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 너, 하늘아, 그녀로 인하여 크게 기뻐하라. 그리고 너희, 거룩한 사도들과 예언자들아, 그녀로 인하여 크게 기뻐하라. 이는 하나님께서 그녀에게 너희의 복수를 해 주셨기 때문이라.”
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 그리고 힘센 천사가 거대한 연자 맷돌 한 짝 같은 돌을 들어 올렸고, 그것을 바닷속으로 던지며 말하기를, “저 거대한 도시 바빌론이 이처럼 거칠게 아래로 내던져질 것이요, 결코 다시는 발견되지 않을 것이라.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22 그리고 하프 연주자들과 음악가들의 음과 피리 연주자들과 나팔 연주자들의 음이 네 가운데서 결코 다시는 들리지 않으리라. 그리고 어떤 기교를 가진 자든지 숙련공이 더 이상 네 가운데서 발견되지 않으리라. 그리고 연자 맷돌 한 짝의 소리도 네 가운데서 결코 다시는 들리지 않으리라.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 그리고 등 하나의 빛도 네 가운데서 결코 다시는 비치지 않으리라. 그리고 신랑의 목소리와 신부의 목소리가 네 가운데서 결코 다시는 들리지 않으리라. 이는 너의 상인들이 땅의 위대한 사람들이었고, 너의 마법들에 의하여 모든 민족들이 속았기 때문이라.
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 그리고 그녀 안에서 예언자들의 피와 성도들의 피와 땅 위에서 살해당한 모든 이들의 피가 발견되었도다.”
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
