1 너는 바위의 야생 염소들이 출산하는 때를 아느냐? 아니면 너는 암사슴들이 언제 새끼를 낳는지 표시할 수 있겠느냐?

1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

2 너는 그들이 채우는 달들을 셀 수 있겠느냐? 아니면 너는 언제 그것들이 출산하는지 그 시간을 아느냐?

2 Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

3 그것들이 자신들의 몸을 굽히는도다. 그것들이 그들의 어린것들을 출산하는도다. 그것들이 그들의 슬픔들을 떨쳐 버리는도다.

3 They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

4 그것들의 어린 짐승들은 좋아 보이나니, 그것들이 곡식으로 자라는도다. 그 어린 짐승들은 밖으로 나가서 그것들에게 되돌아오지 아니하는도다.

4 Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

5 누가 야생 나귀를 자유롭게 내보낸 적이 있느냐? 아니면 누가 야생 나귀의 띠들을 풀어 준 적이 있느냐?

5 Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

6 내가 광야를 야생 나귀의 집으로 삼았고, 생산을 못 하는 지역을 그의 주거지들로 삼았도다.

6 Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

7 그가 도시의 무리를 경멸하는도다. 또 그가 몰이꾼의 외침을 유념하지도 아니하는도다.

7 He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

8 산들의 줄기가 그의 초원이요, 그가 모든 푸른 것마다 탐사하는도다.

8 The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

9 유니콘이 너를 기꺼이 섬기거나 너의 여물통 옆에 거하겠느냐?

9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10 너는 고랑에서 유니콘을 그의 띠로 묶을 수 있느냐? 아니면 그가 너를 따라 골짜기들을 써레질하겠느냐?

10 Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11 너는 그의 힘이 대단하다고 그를 신뢰하겠느냐? 아니면 너는 너의 수고를 그에게 위탁하겠느냐?

11 Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

12 너는 그를 믿되, 그가 너의 씨를 집으로 가져오고 그것을 너의 곳간으로 거두어들일 것이라고 믿겠느냐?

12 Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

13 너는 공작들에게 근사한 날개들을 주었느냐? 아니면 타조에게 날개들과 깃털들을 주었느냐?

13 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

14 타조는 그녀의 알들을 땅 속에 남겨 두나니, 그것들을 진토 속에서 덥히는데

14 Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

15 그런 다음에 잊어버려서 그 발이 그것들을 으스러뜨리거나 야생 짐승이 그것들을 깨뜨리느니라.

15 And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

16 그녀는 그녀의 어린것들에 대하여 완악해지나니, 마치 그것들이 그녀의 자식들이 아닌 것처럼 하느니라. 그녀의 수고는 헛되나 두려움이 없도다.

16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;

17 이는 하나님께서 그녀에게 지혜를 박탈하셨으며, 그분께서 그녀에게 명철을 심어 주지도 아니하셨기 때문이라.

17 Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

18 그녀가 높이 자신의 몸을 들어 올리는 어느 때에 그녀는 그 말과 그를 탄 자를 경멸하는도다.

18 What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

19 너는 그 말에게 힘을 준 적이 있느냐? 너는 그의 목을 천둥으로 옷 입힌 적이 있느냐?

19 Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

20 너는 그를 풀무치같이 무섭게 만들 수 있느냐? 그의 콧구멍의 영광은 공포스럽도다.

20 Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

21 그는 골짜기들에서 앞발질을 하고 그의 힘을 크게 기뻐하는도다. 그는 무장된 남자들을 만나러 나아가는도다.

21 He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

22 그는 두려움을 조롱하고 겁에 질리지 아니하는도다. 또한 칼에서 뒤로 돌이키지도 아니하는도다.

22 He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

23 화살통이 그를 대적하여 덜컹거리고 번쩍이는 창과 방패도 그러하도다.

23 The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

24 그는 맹렬함과 분개함으로 지면을 삼키는도다. 또한 그는 그것이 나팔 소리라는 것을 믿지도 아니하는도다.

24 He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

25 그는 나팔들 사이에서 말하기를, ‘하, 하,’ 하는도다. 또 그는 멀리 떨어진 데서 전투 냄새를 맡고, 대장들의 우레와 같은 소리와 고함들을 감지하는도다.

25 He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26 너의 지혜로 매가 날며 그녀의 날개들을 남쪽을 향하여 뻗느냐?

26 Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

27 너의 명령에 독수리가 상승하고 그녀의 둥지를 높은 곳에 만드느냐?

27 Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

28 그녀는 바위 위와 바위의 벼랑과 튼튼한 처소 위에 머물며 거하는도다.

28 She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29 거기서부터 그녀는 먹이를 찾나니 그녀의 두 눈이 멀리 떨어진 곳을 보는도다.

29 From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

30 그녀의 어린것들도 피를 빨아들이는도다. 또 살해된 것들이 있는 곳에는 그녀가 거기에 있느니라.”

30 Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
