1 그런 다음에 그분께서는 그곳에서 일어나셨고, 요르단의 더 먼 쪽에 있는 유대의 변경들 안으로 들어오시니라. 그러자 백성이 다시금 그분께로 모여들었으며 그분께서는 하시던 습관대로 친히 그들을 다시 가르치셨더라.

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

2 ¶ 그러자 바리새파 사람들이 그분께 나아와서는, “남자가 자신의 아내를 버리는 것이 합법적이니이까?”라고 그분께 여쭈면서 그분을 시험하였더라.

¶ And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

3 이에 그분께서 그들에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를, “모세가 너희에게 무엇을 명령하였느냐?” 하셨더라.

And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

4 그러자 그들이 말씀드리기를, “모세는 이혼장을 써서 아내를 버리는 것을 허락하였나이다.” 하였더라.

And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

5 이에 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희 마음의 완악함 때문에 그가 너희에게 이 규범을 기록하였느니라.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

6 그러나 하나님께서 그들을 창조의 시작부터 남성과 여성으로 만드셨느니라.

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 이런 까닭에 남자가 그의 아버지와 어머니를 떠나 그의 아내와 굳게 결합할지니라.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

8 그리하여 그들 두 사람이 한 육체가 되어야 하리라. 그렇게 하면 그때는 그들이 더 이상 두 사람이 아니요, 오직 한 육체니라.

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

9 그러므로 하나님께서 결합하여 주신 것을 사람이 갈라놓지 않도록 하라.”

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

10 그런 다음에 그분의 제자들이 집 안에서 같은 사안에 관하여 다시금 그분께 여쭈었더라.

And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

11 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하시니라. “누구든지 자기 아내를 버리고 다른 이와 혼인하면 그녀를 거슬러 간음하는 것이라.

And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

12 또한 만일 여자가 그녀의 남편을 버리고 다른 이와 혼인하면 그녀도 간음하는 것이라.”

And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

13 ¶ 이후에 그들이 어린아이들을 그분께로 데려와 그분께서 그들을 어루만져 주시기를 바랐더라. 이에 그분의 제자들이 그 어린아이들을 데려온 자들을 꾸짖었더라.

¶ And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14 그러나 예수님께서 그것을 보셨을 때 그분께서는 몹시 불쾌하셨으니, 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “어린아이들이 나에게 오는 것을 허락하고 그들을 금하지 말라. 이는 하나님의 왕국이 이러한 자들의 것이기 때문이라.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘누구든지 하나님의 왕국을 어린아이와 같이 받아들이지 아니하면 그는 그 안으로 들어가지 못하리라.’”

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16 그런 다음에 그분께서 자신의 양팔로 그들을 안아 올리셨고 자신의 두 손으로 그들에게 안수하시며 그들에게 복을 주셨더라.

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

17 ¶ 그런 다음에 그분께서 길 가운데로 나가셨을 때 달려오는 한 사람이 있었으니 그분께 무릎을 꿇고 그분께 여쭈기를, “선한 스승이여, 제가 영생을 상속받으려면 저는 무엇을 해야 하나이까?” 하였더라.

¶ And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?

18 그러자 예수님께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “네가 무슨 이유로 나를 선하다고 하느냐? 선한 이는 한 분, 곧 하나님 외에는 아무도 없느니라.

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19 너는 명령들을 아나니, ‘간음하지 말라. 살인하지 말라. 도둑질하지 말라. 거짓 증거하지 말라. 속여서 빼앗지 말라. 너의 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라.’ 하는 것이라.”

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.

20 그러자 그가 그분께 대답하여 말씀드리기를, “스승이여, 저는 이 모든 것들을 저의 어린 시절부터 준수해 왔나이다.” 하였더라.

And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

21 그때 예수님께서 그를 보시고 그를 사랑하시며 그에게 말씀하시기를, “너에게 한 가지 부족한 것이 있노라. 너의 길을 가서 네가 가진 것은 무엇이든지 팔고 가난한 자들에게 주라. 그리하면 너는 하늘에서 보물을 소유하리라. 그런 다음에 와서 십자가를 지고 나를 따르라.” 하셨느니라.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22 그러자 그렇게 말씀하신 것에 그가 슬퍼하고 통탄하며 가 버렸더라. 이는 그가 막대한 소유물들을 가졌기 때문이라.

And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

23 ¶ 그러고 나서 예수님께서 주위를 둘러보시고 자기 제자들에게 말씀하시기를, “재물들을 가진 자들이 하나님의 왕국에 들어가기가 얼마나 어려운가!” 하시니라.

¶ And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

24 그러자 제자들이 그분의 말씀들에 깜짝 놀랐더라. 그러나 예수님께서 다시금 대답하여 그들에게 이같이 말씀하시니라. “자녀들아, 재물들을 신뢰하는 자들은 하나님의 왕국 안으로 들어가기가 얼마나 어려운가!

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

25 부유한 사람이 하나님의 왕국에 들어가는 것보다 낙타가 바늘귀를 통과하는 것이 더 쉬우니라.”

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26 그러자 그들이 아주 깜짝 놀라며 자기들끼리 말하기를, “그렇다면 누가 구원받을 수 있겠는가?” 하였더라.

And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?

27 이에 예수님께서 그들을 바라보시며 말씀하시기를, “그것이 사람들에게는 불가능하나 하나님께는 그렇지 아니하니라. 이는 하나님께는 모든 것들이 가능하시기 때문이라.” 하시니라.

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

28 ¶ 그때 베드로가 그분께 말씀드리기 시작하기를, “보소서. 우리는 모든 것을 버려두고 당신을 따라왔나이다.” 하였더라.

¶ Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29 그러자 예수님께서 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 나를 위하여 그리고 복음을 위하여 집이나 형제들이나 자매들이나 아버지나 어머니나 아내나 자녀들이나 토지들을 버린 사람은 받지 못하는 일이 없으리니,

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

30 오히려 그는 지금 이때에 집들과 형제들과 자매들과 어머니들과 자식들과 토지들을 박해들과 함께 일백 배로 받으리라. 그리고 오는 세상에서는 영생을 받으리라.

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

31 그러나 처음이 된 많은 자들이 마지막이 될 것이며, 마지막이 된 자들이 처음이 되리라.”

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

32 ¶ 그러고 나서 그들이 예루살렘으로 올라가는 길에 있었는데 예수님께서 그들을 앞서 가셨더라. 그러자 그들이 놀랐더라. 이에 그들이 따라가는 동안 그들은 무서워하였더라. 그리하여 그분께서 그 열둘을 다시금 데려가 자신에게 일어나야 할 것들을 그들에게 알리기 시작하셨으니,

¶ And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,

33 말씀하시기를, “보라, 우리는 예루살렘으로 올라가노라. 그리하면 인자가 수석 제사장들에게 그리고 서기관들에게 넘겨지리니 그들은 그에게 사형을 선고할 것이요, 그를 이방인들에게 넘겨주리라.

Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

34 그리고 그들은 그를 조롱할 것이며, 그를 채찍질할 것이요, 그에게 침을 뱉을 것이며, 그를 죽일 것이라. 그런데 셋째 날에 그가 다시 살아나리라.” 하셨느니라.

And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

35 ¶ 그러자 세배대의 아들들인 야고보와 요한이 그분께 나아오며 말씀드리기를, “스승님, 무엇이든지 우리가 간절히 바라는 것을 당신께서 우리를 위해 행하여 주시기를 우리가 바라나이다.” 하니라.

¶ And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

36 이에 그분께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “내가 너희를 위하여 무엇을 하기를 너희가 바라느냐?” 하셨느니라.

And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?

37 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “당신의 영광 가운데서 우리 중 하나는 당신의 오른편에 앉고 다른 하나는 당신의 왼편에 앉는 것을 우리에게 허락하여 주소서.” 하였더라.

They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.

38 그러나 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “너희는 너희가 구하는 것을 모르는도다. 내가 마시는 그 잔을 너희가 마실 수 있겠느냐? 또 내가 침례받는 그 침례로 너희가 침례받을 수 있겠느냐?” 하셨느니라.

But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

39 그러자 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “우리가 할 수 있나이다.” 하였더라. 이에 예수님께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희가 정녕 내가 마시는 그 잔을 마실 것이요, 내가 침례받는 그 침례로 너희가 그와 같이 침례를 받을 것이라.

And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

40 그러나 나의 오른편과 나의 왼편에 앉는 것은 내가 주는 것이 아니요, 오직 그것은 예비된 자들을 위하여 그들에게 주어지리라.”

But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

41 이에 그 열 명이 그것을 듣자 그들은 야고보와 요한에 대하여 몹시 불쾌해 하기 시작하였더라.

And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

42 그러나 예수님께서 그들을 자신에게로 부르셨으니 그들에게 이같이 말씀하시니라. “이방인들을 다스리는 것으로 여겨지는 자들이 그 이방인들 위에 지배권을 행사하는 것과 그들의 위대한 이들이 그들 위에 권위를 행사하는 것을 너희는 아느니라.

But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

43 그러나 너희 가운데서는 그리하지 말지니라. 오히려 누구든지 너희 가운데서 위대하게 되고자 하는 자는 너희를 섬기는 자가 될지니라.

But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

44 그리고 너희 가운데서 누구든지 제일가는 자가 되고자 하면 모두의 종이 될지니라.

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

45 이는 인자도 섬김을 받으러 온 것이 아니라 오히려 섬기러 왔고 많은 이들을 위하여 자신의 생명을 하나의 속량 값으로 주려고 왔기 때문이라.”

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

46 ¶ 이후에 그들이 예리코에 왔더라. 그런데 그분께서 자신의 제자들과 엄청난 수의 백성과 함께 예리코에서 나가시는 동안 티매우스의 아들인 눈먼 자 바르티매우스가 대로변에 앉아 구걸하고 있더라.

¶ And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 그리고 그가 그분이 나사렛 예수님이심을 들었을 때 그는 소리를 지르기 시작하여 말씀드리기를, “예수님, 다윗의 자손이신 당신이여, 제게 자비를 베푸소서.” 하니라.

And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

48 그러자 많은 이들이 그로 하여금 그의 침묵을 지키도록 그에게 명하였더라. 그러나 그는 더욱더 크게 소리치기를, “다윗의 자손이신 당신이여, 제게 자비를 베푸소서.” 하였더라.

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

49 그러자 예수님께서 가만히 서시어 그로 하여금 부름을 받도록 명령하셨느니라. 이에 그들이 그 눈먼 남자를 불러 그에게 말하기를, “훌륭한 위로를 받고 일어나라. 그분께서 너를 부르신다.” 하니라.

And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50 그러자 그는 자신의 의복을 벗어던지며 일어나서 예수님께 나아왔더라.

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 이에 예수님께서 그에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를, “너는 내가 너에게 무엇을 해 주기를 원하느냐?” 하셨느니라. 그러자 그 눈먼 남자는 그분께 말씀드리기를, “주여, 제가 저의 시력을 받게 되기를 원하나이다.” 하였더라.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 이에 예수님께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “너의 길을 가라. 너의 믿음이 너를 온전하게 하였도다.” 하셨느니라. 그러자 즉시 그가 자신의 시력을 받았고 그 길로 예수님을 따랐더라.

And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

이전 장 다음 장
