1 그 당시에 히스키야가 병들어 죽게 되었더라. 그러자 아모즈의 아들 예언자 이사야가 그에게 와서 그에게 말하기를, “주가 이같이 말하노라. ‘너의 집을 정리하라. 이는 네가 죽고 살지 못할 것이기 때문이라.’” 하였더라.
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 그때 그가 벽을 향하여 자기 얼굴을 돌리고 주께 기도하며 이같이 말씀드렸더라.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
3 “오, 주여, 제가 당신께 간청하오니, 제가 어떻게 진리 안에서 완전한 마음으로 당신 앞에 살아갔으며 당신의 목전에서 선한 것을 행하였는지를 이제 기억해 주옵소서.” 그러면서 히스키야가 심히 울었더라.
3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 그런즉 이사야가 중앙 뜰로 나가기 전에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 주의 말씀이 그에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
5 “다시 돌이켜 나의 백성의 대장 히스키야에게 알리라. ‘주, 곧 너의 조상 다윗의 하나님이 이같이 말하노니, ‘내가 너의 기도를 들었고, 내가 너의 눈물들을 보았도다. 보라, 내가 너를 치유하겠노라. 셋째 날에 네가 주의 집에 올라가리라.
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
6 그런즉 내가 너의 날들에 십오 년을 더하겠노라. 그리하여 내가 아시리아 왕의 손에서 너와 이 도시를 구출하겠노라. 그리고 내가 나 자신을 위하여, 또 나의 종 다윗을 위하여 이 도시를 수호하겠노라.’’”
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
7 그런즉 이사야가 말하기를, “무화과들 한 덩이를 가져오라.” 하였더라. 그러자 그들이 그것을 가져와서 종기 위에 올렸고 그가 회복되었더라.
7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
8 ¶ 그런즉 히스키야가 이사야에게 말하기를, “주께서 저를 치유하시어 제가 셋째 날에 주의 집으로 올라갈 표적은 무엇이 되리이까?” 하였더라.
8 ¶ And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?
9 그러자 이사야가 말하기를, “당신은 주께서 친히 말씀하신 것을 행하신다는 이 표적을 주께로부터 얻으실 것이니이다. 그림자가 십 도 앞으로 가야 하리이까? 아니면 십 도 뒤로 가야 하리이까?” 하였더라.
9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
10 그러자 히스키야가 대답하였더라. “그림자가 십 도 내려가는 것은 쉬운 것이니이다. 그것이 아니라 오히려 그림자가 십 도 뒤로 되돌아가게 하여 주소서.”
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.
11 이에 예언자 이사야가 주께 부르짖었더라. 그러자 그분께서 아하즈의 해시계에서 그림자를 내리심으로써 그것을 십 도 뒤쪽으로 가게 하였더라.
11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
12 ¶ 그 당시에 발라단의 아들인 바빌론 왕 브로닥발라단이 편지들과 증여물을 히스키야에게 보냈더라. 이는 히스키야가 병들었던 것을 그가 들었기 때문이라.
12 ¶ At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
13 그런즉 히스키야가 그들에게 경청하였고 그의 귀한 것들과 은과 금과 향료들과 귀한 향유가 있는 온 집과, 그의 병기고 전체와, 그의 보물 창고들 안에서 발견된 모든 것을 그들에게 보여 주었더라. 그의 집 안이나 그의 통치 하에 있는 모든 것 가운데 히스키야가 그들에게 보여 주지 않은 것은 아무것도 없었더라.
13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
14 ¶ 그때 예언자 이사야가 히스키야왕에게 와서 그에게 말하기를, “이 사람들이 무슨 말을 하였나이까? 또 그들이 어디에서 당신께 왔나이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 히스키야가 말하기를, “그들은 먼 나라로부터, 곧 바빌론으로부터 왔나이다.” 하였더라.
14 ¶ Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.
15 그러자 그가 말하기를, “그들이 당신의 집 안에서 무엇을 보았나이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 히스키야가 대답하기를, “저의 집 안에 있는 모든 것들을 그들이 보았나이다. 저의 보물들 가운데 제가 그들에게 보여 주지 아니한 것은 아무것도 없나이다.” 하였더라.
15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
16 그러자 이사야가 히스키야에게 이같이 말하였더라. “주의 말씀을 들으소서.
16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.
17 ‘보라, 그날들이 오나니, 너의 집 안에 있는 모든 것과, 너의 조상들이 이날까지 저장하여 쌓아 올린 모든 것이 바빌론 안으로 옮겨지고, 아무것도 남지 아니하리라. 주가 말하노라.
17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
18 그리고 너에게서 생겨날, 네가 낳을 너의 아들들 중 일부를 그들이 잡아 가리라. 그리하여 그들은 바빌론 왕의 궁전 안에서 내시들이 되리라.’”
18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
19 그때 히스키야가 이사야에게 말하기를, “당신께서 전하신 주의 말씀이 선하시나이다.” 하였더라. 그러면서 그가 말하기를, “만일 나의 날들에는 화평과 진리가 있다면 그것이 좋지 아니하나이까?” 하였더라.
19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?
20 ¶ 그리고 히스키야의 행적들 중 나머지와 그의 모든 위세와, 어떻게 그가 못과 배수구를 만들어서 도시 안으로 물을 가져왔는지에 관해서는, 그것들이 유다 왕들의 연대기들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?
20 ¶ And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
21 이후에 히스키야가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠들었더라. 그리고 그의 아들 므낫세가 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
