1 그러므로 너는 주 너의 하나님을 사랑할지니, 그분의 책무와 그분의 규례들과 그분의 공의로운 법규들과 그분의 명령들을 항상 지킬지니라.
1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
2 그리고 이날 너희는 알라. 이는 내가 너희의 자녀들에게 이야기하는 것이 아니기 때문이라. 그들은 주 너희 하나님의 징계와 그분의 위대하심과 그분의 막강한 손과 그분의 펼쳐진 팔을 알지도 못하고 보지도 못하였으며,
2 And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
3 그분께서 이집트 한가운데서 이집트 왕 파라오에게 그리고 그의 온 지역에 행하신 그의 기적들과, 그의 행적들과,
3 And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
4 그분께서 이집트 군사에게와 그들의 말들에게와 그들의 병거들에게 행하신 것과, 그들이 너희를 추적할 때 그분께서 홍해의 물로 하여금 그들을 침수하게 하신 것과, 주께서 그들을 멸하시어 오늘날까지 이른 것과,
4 And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
5 너희가 이곳으로 들어올 때까지 그분께서 광야 가운데서 너희에게 행하신 것과,
5 And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
6 그분께서 르우벤의 아들인 엘리압의 아들들 다단과 아비람에게 행하신 것과, 땅이 그녀의 입을 열어, 온 이스라엘의 한가운데서 그들과 그들의 집안들과 그들의 천막들과 그들의 소유에 속한 모든 물질을 삼킨 것을 알지도 못하고 보지도 못하였느니라.
6 And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
7 그러나 그분께서 행하신 주의 모든 위대한 행적들을 너희의 눈이 보았느니라.
7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
8 그러므로 너희는 이날에 내가 너희에게 명령하는 모든 명령들을 지킬지니, 너희가 강건해져서 너희가 차지하러 가는 그 지역에 들어가 그곳을 차지하게 하려 함이요,
8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
9 주께서 너희의 조상들에게 맹세하시어 그들에게와 그들의 씨에게 주기로 하신 그 지역, 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 지역 가운데서 너희로 하여금 너희의 날들을 연장하게 하려 함이라.
9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10 ¶ 이는 네가 그곳을 차지하러 들어가는 그 지역은 너희가 빠져나온 이집트 지역과 같지 아니하기 때문이니, 거기서는 네가 너의 씨를 뿌리고 나서 야채들이 있는 정원처럼 너의 발로 그곳에 물을 대었느니라.
10 ¶ For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
11 그러나 너희가 그곳을 차지하러 들어가는 그 지역은 언덕들과 골짜기들이 있고 하늘의 빗물을 흡수하는 지역이요,
11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
12 주 너의 하나님께서 돌보시는 지역이니, 한 해의 시작부터 한 해의 끝까지 주 너의 하나님의 눈들이 항상 그곳 위에 있느니라.
12 A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
13 ¶ 그런즉 만일 너희가 이날에 내가 너희에게 명령하는 나의 명령들에 부지런히 경청하여 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하고, 그를 너희의 마음을 다하고 너희의 혼을 다하여 섬긴다면 이러한 일이 있으리니,
13 ¶ And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 네가 너의 곡식과 너의 포도즙과 너의 기름을 거두도록 그의 적합한 시기에 내가 너희에게 비를 주리니, 곧 너희 지역에 처음 비와 나중 비를 주리라.
14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
15 그리고 네가 먹고 배부를 수 있도록 내가 너의 가축들을 위하여 너의 밭들에 풀을 보내겠노라.
15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.
16 너희는 스스로 주의하여 너희의 마음이 속지 않게 하고, 너희가 길에서 벗어나 다른 신들을 섬겨 그들에게 경배하지 않게 하라.
16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
17 그렇게 되면 주의 진노가 너희를 대적하여 타오르리니, 그분께서 하늘을 닫아서 비가 없게 하실 것이며, 그 지역으로 하여금 그녀의 열매를 맺지 못하게 하시리라. 그런즉 주께서 너희에게 주시는 그 좋은 지역에서 너희가 떨어져 나가 속히 멸망하지 않게 하라.
17 And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
18 ¶ 그러므로 너희는 나의 이 말들을 너희 마음속과 너희 혼 안에 쌓아 두고 그것들을 너희 손 위에 표적으로 묶을지니, 그 말씀들이 너희의 두 눈 사이에서 이마의 표식들처럼 되게 하려 함이라.
18 ¶ Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 그리고 너희는 네가 너의 집 안에 앉아 있을 때와 네가 길을 걸어갈 때, 네가 드러누울 때와 네가 일어날 때 그 말씀들에 관하여 이야기하며 그것들을 너희의 자녀들에게 가르칠지니라.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
20 그리고 너는 너의 집의 문기둥들 위와 너의 대문들 위에 그 말씀들을 기록할지니라.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
21 이는 주께서 너희 조상들에게 맹세하여 그들에게 주기로 하신 그 지역 가운데서 너희의 날들과 너희 자녀들의 날들이 많아지게 하려 함이니, 땅 위에서 하늘의 날들과 같이 되게 하려 함이라.
21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.
22 ¶ 이는 만일 내가 너희에게 명령하는 이 모든 명령들을 너희가 부지런히 지켜서 그것들을 실행하고 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하며 그분의 모든 길들 가운데로 살아가고 또 그분께 밀착한다면,
22 ¶ For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
23 그때 주께서 이 모든 민족들을 너희 앞에서 내쫓으시리니, 너희는 너희 자신보다 더 강대하고 막강한 민족들을 차지하리라.
23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
24 너희 발바닥이 그 위를 밟는 모든 곳마다 너희의 것이 되리니, 광야와 레바논에서부터요, 그 강, 유프라테스강에서부터 맨 끝에 있는 바다에 이르기까지 너희의 지경이 되리라.
24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.
25 너희 앞에 설 수 있는 사람이 아무도 없으리라. 이는 주 너희 하나님께서 너희가 그 위를 밟을 온 지역 위에 너희에 대한 두려움과 너희에 대한 무서움을 둘 것이기 때문이니, 그분께서 너희에게 말씀하셨던 대로니라.
25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
26 ¶ 보라, 내가 이날에 너희 앞에 복과 저주를 세우노라.
26 ¶ Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 만일 내가 이날에 너희에게 명령하는 주 너희 하나님의 명령들에 너희가 복종하면 복이요,
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28 만일 너희가 주 너희 하나님의 명령들에 복종하려 하지 않고, 오히려 내가 이날에 너희에게 명령하는 그 길에서 벗어나 네가 몰랐던 다른 신들을 좇아간다면 저주라.
28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
29 그런즉 주 너의 하나님께서 네가 그곳을 차지하러 가는 그 지역으로 너를 데리고 들어가셨을 때 이러한 일이 있으리니, 너는 그리심산 위에 복을 두고 에발산 위에 저주를 둘지니라.
29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
30 그것들이 해가 지는 길로 요르단 건너편, 곧 모레의 평야들 옆 길갈 맞은편의 평원 가운데 거하는 가나안족들의 지역 가운데 있지 아니하냐?
30 Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
31 이는 너희가 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 주시는 그 지역을 차지하러 들어가기 위해 요르단을 넘어갈 것이요, 너희는 그곳을 차지하여 그 안에 거할 것이기 때문이라.
31 For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32 그런즉 너희는 이날에 내가 너희 앞에 세우는 모든 규례들과 공의로운 법규들을 준수하여 행할지니라.
32 And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
