1 이후에 모세가 모압의 평야들에서 느보산으로 올라갔으니, 예리코 맞은편에 있는 피스가의 꼭대기에 이르렀더라. 그러자 주께서는 그에게 길르앗의 온 지역을 단까지 보여 주셨고,
1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
2 온 납탈리와, 에프라임과 므낫세의 지역과, 유다의 온 지역을 맨 끝에 있는 바다까지 보여주셨으며,
2 And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea,
3 남쪽과, 종려나무들의 도시인 예리코 골짜기의 평야를 조알까지 보여 주셨더라.
3 And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.
4 그리고 주께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “이것이 내가 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하며 말하기를, ‘내가 너의 씨에게 그곳을 주겠노라.’ 한 지역이라. 내가 너로 하여금 너의 두 눈으로 그곳을 보게 해주었으나 너는 거기로 건너가지 못하리라.”
4 And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
5 ¶ 그렇게 하여 주의 말씀에 따라 주의 종 모세가 거기 모압 지역 가운데서 죽었더라.
5 ¶ So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.
6 그러자 그분께서는 벧프올 맞은편 모압 지역 안에 있는 한 골짜기 가운데서 그를 장사하셨더라. 그러나 오늘날까지 그의 돌무덤에 관하여 아는 사람이 없었더라.
6 And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
7 ¶ 그런즉 모세가 죽었을 때 그는 일백이십 세였더라. 그의 눈은 흐릿하지 아니하였고, 그의 원기도 약화되지 아니하였더라.
7 ¶ And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
8 ¶ 그러자 이스라엘 자녀들이 모압의 평야들 가운데서 모세를 위하여 삼십 일 동안 울었더라. 그렇게 하여 모세를 위한 울음과 애곡의 날들이 끝났더라.
8 ¶ And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.
9 ¶ 그리고 눈의 아들 여호수아가 지혜의 영으로 충만하였더라. 이는 모세가 자기 두 손으로 그에게 안수하였기 때문이라. 그런즉 이스라엘 자녀들이 그에게 경청하였으니, 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 실행하였더라.
9 ¶ And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
10 ¶ 그리고 이후로는 이스라엘에서 주께서 얼굴과 얼굴을 마주하여 아신 모세와 같은 예언자가 한 명도 일어나지 아니하였더라.
10 ¶ And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,
11 곧, 주께서 파라오와 그의 모든 종들과 그의 온 지역에 그를 보내시어 이집트 지역 가운데서 행하도록 하신 모든 표적들과 이적들에 있어서,
11 In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
12 또 그 모든 막강한 손에 있어서, 또 모세가 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 보여 준 그 모든 위대한 공포에 있어서, 모세와 같은 예언자가 한 명도 일어나지 아니하였더라.
12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.
