1 진실로, 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘문을 통하여 양 우리 안으로 들어가지 아니하고 오히려 다른 길로 기어오르는 자, 바로 그는 도둑이자 강도니라.’

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2 그러나 문을 통하여 들어가는 자는 양들의 목자니라.

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

3 그에게는 문지기가 문을 열어 주느니라. 그리고 양들은 그의 음성을 듣느니라. 그런즉 그는 자기 소유의 양들을 이름으로 불러서 그들을 이끌어 내느니라.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

4 그리고 그가 자기 소유의 양들을 내보낼 때는 친히 그들 앞으로 가며 양들은 그를 따르느니라. 이는 그들이 그의 음성을 알기 때문이라.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 그리고 그들은 어떤 낯선 이를 따르지 아니하고 오직 그에게서 도망하느니라. 이는 그들이 낯선 이들의 음성을 모르기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

6 예수님께서 이 비유를 그들에게 말씀하셨으나 그들은 그분께서 자신들에게 말씀하신 것들이 어떤 것들인지 이해하지 못하였더라.

This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

7 그때 예수님께서 그들에게 다시금 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “진실로, 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘나는 양들의 문이라.’

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 이제껏 내 앞에 왔던 모두는 도둑들이자 강도들이라. 그러나 양들은 그들의 말을 듣지 아니하였느니라.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

9 나는 그 문이라. 누구든 나를 통하여 들어간다면 그는 구원을 받을 것이요, 들어가고 나오며 초원을 발견하리라.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10 도둑은 오직 도둑질하고 죽이며 멸망시키기 위해서 오느니라. 나는 그들이 생명을 얻게 하려고 왔으며 그들이 그것을 더 넘치게 얻도록 하려고 왔노라.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 나는 그 선한 목자라. 선한 목자는 양들을 위하여 자신의 생명을 주느니라.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

12 그러나 삯꾼이요, 목자가 아니며, 그 양들도 자기 소유가 아닌 자는 늑대가 오는 것을 보면 양들을 남겨 두고 도망하느니라. 그리하여 늑대는 그들을 낚아채고 양들을 흩어지게 하느니라.

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

13 그 삯꾼은 도망하나니, 그가 삯꾼이요, 양들을 돌보지 아니하기 때문이라.

The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

14 나는 그 선한 목자라. 그런즉 나는 나의 양들을 알며 나의 양들에게도 알려져 있느니라.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 아버지께서 나를 아시듯이 나도 바로 그렇게 아버지를 아느니라. 그리고 나는 양들을 위하여 나의 생명을 내려놓느니라.

As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 그리고 나에게는 이 양 우리에 속하지 아니한 다른 양들도 있으니 그들 역시도 내가 데려와야만 하며 그들은 나의 음성을 들으리라. 그리하여 하나의 우리와 하나의 목자가 있으리라.

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

17 그러므로 나의 아버지께서 나를 사랑하시나니, 내가 나의 생명을 내려놓는 까닭이라. 이로써 내가 그것을 다시 취하려 함이라.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18 나에게서 그것을 빼앗을 사람은 아무도 없으나 나 스스로 그것을 내려놓느니라. 나는 그것을 내려놓을 권능이 있으며, 내게는 그것을 다시 취할 권능도 있느니라. 이 명령은 내가 나의 아버지께로부터 받은 것이라.”

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

19 ¶ 그러므로 이렇게 말씀하신 것들로 인하여 유대인들 사이에서 다시금 분열이 있었더라.

¶ There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

20 그러자 그들 중 많은 이들이 말하기를, “그는 한 마귀에 들려 있으며 미쳐 있도다. 어찌하여 너희는 그의 말을 듣느냐?” 하였더라.

And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

21 다른 이들은 말하기를, “이것들은 한 마귀에 들린 자의 말들이 아니로다. 마귀가 눈먼 자의 두 눈을 열어 줄 수 있겠느냐?” 하였더라.

Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22 ¶ 이후에 예루살렘에 봉헌절이 있었는데 때는 겨울이었더라.

¶ And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23 그런데 예수님께서 성전 안에서 솔로몬의 주랑을 거니셨더라.

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

24 그때 유대인들이 와서 그분 주위를 둘러싸고 그분께 말씀드리기를, “당신은 얼마나 오랫동안 우리로 하여금 의심하게 하려 하시나이까? 만일 당신이 그리스도시라면 우리에게 명료하게 알려 주소서.” 하였더라.

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하셨느니라. “내가 너희에게 알려 주었으나 너희가 믿지 아니하였도다. 내가 나의 아버지의 이름으로 행하는 일들, 그것들이 나에 관하여 증거하느니라.

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

26 그러나 너희가 믿지 아니하는도다. 이는 내가 너희에게 말한 대로 너희가 나의 양들이 아닌 까닭이라.

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27 나의 양들은 나의 음성을 듣고, 나는 그들을 알며, 그들은 나를 따르느니라.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 그리고 나는 그들에게 영생을 주노라. 그런즉 그들은 결코 멸망하지 아니할 것이요, 아무도 나의 손에서 그들을 빼앗아 내지 못할 것이라.

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 그들을 나에게 주신 나의 아버지께서는 모든 것보다 더 위대하시니라. 그런즉 아무도 나의 아버지의 손에서 그들을 빼앗아 내지 못하리라.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 나와 나의 아버지는 하나니라.”

I and my Father are one.

31 그때 유대인들이 그분을 돌로 쳐서 죽이려고 다시 돌들을 집어 들었더라.

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 예수님께서 그들에게 대응하시기를, “나는 나의 아버지께로부터 오는 많은 선한 행위들을 보여 주었노라. 이 행위들 중 어떤 것으로 인하여 너희가 나를 돌로 쳐서 죽이려 하느냐?” 하셨느니라.

Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 유대인들이 그분께 대답하며 말씀드리기를, “선한 행위로 인하여 우리가 당신을 돌로 쳐서 죽이려는 것이 아니라 다만 신성 모독으로 인함이라. 이는 곧 당신이 사람이면서 자신을 하나님이라고 하는 까닭이라.” 하였더라.

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하셨느니라. “너희의 율법에 기록되기를, ‘내가 ‘너희는 신들이라.’라고 말하였도다.’ 하지 아니하느냐?

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35 그분께서 하나님의 말씀이 임한 자들을 신들이라고 부르셨고, 성경 기록은 파기될 수 없을진대,

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 내가 ‘나는 하나님의 아들이라.’라고 말하였다고 해서 너희가 아버지께서 성결하게 구별하시고 세상 속으로 보내신 그에 관하여 ‘당신이 신성 모독을 하는도다.’라고 말하느냐?

Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

37 만일 내가 나의 아버지의 일들을 하지 않는다면 나를 믿지 말라.

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 그러나 만일 내가 그 일을 행한다면 비록 너희가 나를 믿지 아니하여도 그 일들은 믿으라. 이로써 너희로 하여금 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 내가 그분 안에 있다는 것을 알고 믿을 수 있게 하려는 것이라.”

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39 그러므로 그들이 다시 그분을 잡으려고 시도하였으나 그분께서는 그들의 손에서 벗어나셨고

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

40 처음에 요한이 침례를 주던 곳인 요르단 너머로 다시 떠나가셨더라. 그런즉 그분께서 거기에 거하셨더라.

And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

41 그리고 많은 이들이 그분께 모여들어 말하기를, “요한은 어떤 기적도 행하지 아니하였으나 요한이 이 사람에 관하여 전한 모든 것들은 진실이었도다.” 하였더라.

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

42 그런즉 많은 이들이 거기에서 그분을 믿었더라.

And many believed on him there.
