1 그리고 셋째 날에 갈릴리 카나에서 혼인 잔치가 있었더라. 그런데 예수님의 어머니가 거기에 있었더라.

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2 또 예수님과 그분의 제자들 모두 혼인 잔치에 초청받았더라.

2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3 그런데 그들이 포도즙이 부족하자 예수님의 어머니가 그분께 말씀드리기를, “그들에게 포도즙이 없도다.” 하니라.

3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

4 예수님께서 그녀에게 말씀하시기를, “여자여, 내가 너와 무슨 상관이 있느냐? 나의 시각이 아직 오지 아니하였도다.” 하시니라.

4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

5 그분의 어머니가 종들에게 말하기를, “그가 너희에게 말하는 것이 무엇이든 그것을 행하라.” 하니라.

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

6 그리고 거기에는 유대인들 정결 예식의 방식에 따라 돌로 된 물 항아리 여섯 개가 배치되어 있었는데 각기 두세 펄킨²을 담을 수 있었더라.

6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “물 항아리들을 물로 채우라.” 하시니라. 그러자 그들이 그것들을 언저리까지 가득 채웠더라.

7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “이제는 떠다가 잔치의 관리자에게 가져다주라.” 하시니라. 그러자 그들이 그것을 가져다주었더라.

8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

9 잔치의 주관자가 포도즙이 된 물을 맛보았으나 그것이 어디서 났는지 몰랐을 때 (그러나 물을 길은 그 종들은 알았더라.) 잔치의 관리자가 신랑을 불러

9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10 그에게 말하기를, “모든 사람이 저마다 시작할 때에 좋은 포도즙을 내놓고 사람들이 충분히 마시면 그제야 더 질이 떨어지는 것을 내놓느니라. 그러나 당신은 이제껏 좋은 포도즙을 간직해 두었도다.” 하니라.

10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11 예수님께서 이 기적들의 시작을 갈릴리 카나에서 행하셨으며 자신의 영광을 명백하게 드러내 보이셨더라. 그러자 그분의 제자들이 그분을 믿었더라.

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

12 ¶ 이런 일이 있고 나서 그분께서 가버나움으로 내려가셨으니, 곧 그분과 그분의 어머니와 그분의 형제들과 그분의 제자들이라. 그리고 그들은 많은 날들을 거기에 계속 있지는 아니하였더라.

12 ¶ After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

13 ¶ 그러고 나서 유대인들의 유월절이 가까웠기에 예수님께서 예루살렘으로 올라가셨는데

13 ¶ And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14 소들과 양들과 비둘기들을 파는 자들과, 앉아 있는 환전상들을 성전 안에서 발견하셨더라.

14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15 이에 그분께서 작은 끈들로 채를 만드셨을 때 그분께서 그들 모두와 양들과 소들을 성전에서 내쫓으셨더라. 그러고는 환전상들의 돈을 쏟아 버리시고 탁자들을 뒤집어엎으셨더라.

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16 그러면서 비둘기들을 파는 자들에게 말씀하시기를, “여기서 이것들을 가져가라. 나의 아버지의 집을 장사하는 집으로 만들지 말라.” 하셨느니라.

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

17 그러자 그분의 제자들이 “당신의 집을 향한 열심이 저를 삼켜 버렸나이다.”라고 기록된 것을 기억하였더라.

17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

18 ¶ 그때 유대인들이 반응하여 그분께 말씀드리기를, “당신께서 이런 일들을 행하시니 무슨 표적을 당신께서 우리에게 보여주시나이까?” 하였더라.

18 ¶ Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를, “이 성전을 헐라. 그리하면 삼 일 만에 내가 그것을 일으켜 세우리라.” 하셨느니라.

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 그때 유대인들이 말씀드리기를, “이 성전을 건축하는 데 사십육 년이 걸렸는데 당신께서 그것을 삼 일 만에 만들어 세우시겠나이까?” 하였더라.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21 그러나 그분께서는 자신의 몸 된 성전에 관하여 말씀하셨더라.

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

22 그러므로 그분께서 죽은 자들로부터 살아나셨을 때 그분의 제자들은 그분께서 그들에게 이것을 말씀하신 것을 기억하였더라. 그러고는 그들이 성경 기록과 예수님께서 하신 말씀을 믿었더라.

22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

23 ¶ 이제 유월절에 그분께서 예루살렘에 계셨을 때 명절날에 많은 이들이 그분께서 행하신 기적들을 본 후, 그들이 그분의 이름을 믿었더라.

23 ¶ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

24 그러나 예수님께서는 그들에게 자신을 맡기지 아니하셨으니, 그분께서 모든 사람들을 아셨기 때문이라.

24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

25 그리고 누군가 사람에 관하여 증언하는 것을 필요로 하지 아니하셨더라. 이는 그분께서 사람 안에 무엇이 있는지 아셨기 때문이라.

25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
