1 그리고 주께서 모세에게와 아론에게 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2 “주가 명령하며 말한 율법의 법령이 이러하니라. ‘이스라엘 자녀들에게 일러 그 위에 결코 멍에를 메지 아니하였고, 점도 없고 흠도 없는 붉은 암송아지 한 마리를 그들이 너에게 데려오게 하라.
2 This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
3 그리하면 너희는 제사장 엘르아잘에게 그녀를 주어 그가 그녀를 진영 밖으로 데려가게 하고, 한 명이 그의 얼굴 앞에서 그녀를 도살하게 할지니라.
3 And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
4 그러고 나서 제사장 엘르아잘은 그의 손가락으로 그녀의 피를 취하고, 회중의 성막 앞을 향하여 똑바로 그녀의 피를 일곱 번 뿌릴지니라.
4 And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
5 그런 다음에 한 명이 그 암송아지를 그의 목전에서 태울지니, 그는 그녀의 가죽과 그녀의 고기와 그녀의 피를 그녀의 똥과 함께 태울지니라.
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
6 그런 다음에 제사장은 백향목과 우슬초와 주홍색 실을 취하여 그것을 암송아지를 태우는 불 한가운데로 던질지니라.
6 And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7 그 후에 제사장은 자기 옷을 빨지니, 그는 자기 육체를 물속에서 씻으며 목욕할지니라. 그러고 난 뒤에 그는 진영 안으로 들어올지니, 제사장은 저녁때까지 불결하리라.
7 Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
8 그리고 그녀를 태운 자는 자기 옷을 물속에서 빨고 자기 육체를 물속에서 씻으며 목욕할지니, 저녁때까지 불결하리라.
8 And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
9 그리하면 정결한 사람이 그 암송아지의 재들을 끌어모아서 그것들을 진영 밖에 있는 한 정결한 장소에다 쌓아 놓을지니라. 그리고 그것은 이스라엘 자녀들의 회중을 위하여 구별의 물에 쓰도록 간수되어야 하리라. 그것은 죄에 대한 정화 의식이라.
9 And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
10 그런 다음에 암송아지의 재들을 거두는 자는 자기 옷을 빨지니, 저녁때까지 불결하리라. 그리하여 그것이 이스라엘 자녀들에게와 그들 사이에서 체류하는 타국인에게 영원토록 규례가 되리라.
10 And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
11 ¶ 어떤 사람의 죽은 시신을 만지는 자는 칠 일 동안 불결하리라.
11 ¶ He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
12 그는 셋째 날에 그것으로 자신을 정화할지니라. 그리하면 일곱째 날에 그가 정결하게 되리라. 그러나 만일 그가 셋째 날에 자신을 정화하지 않는다면 그때 그는 일곱째 날에 정결하게 되지 아니하리라.
12 He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13 누구든지 어떤 사람의 죽은 시신을 만지고 자신을 정화하지 아니하는 자는 주의 성막을 더럽히는 것이라. 그런즉 그 혼은 이스라엘에게서 끊어지리라. 이는 구별의 물이 그에게 뿌려지지 아니하여 그가 불결하게 될 것이기 때문이라. 그의 불결함은 여전히 그의 위에 있느니라.
13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
14 이것이 사람이 천막 안에서 죽을 때의 법이라. 그 천막 안으로 들어가는 모든 자와 그 천막 안에 있는 모든 자는 칠 일 동안 불결하리라.
14 This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15 그리고 뚜껑이 그 위에 달려 있지 않아 열려 있는 모든 그릇마다 불결하니라.
15 And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
16 그리고 벌판들 가운데서 칼로 살해된 누군가를 만지거나, 죽은 시신이나, 사람의 뼈나, 무덤을 만지는 자는 누구든지 칠 일 동안 불결하리라.
16 And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
17 그리하면 그들은 불결한 개인을 위하여 죄에 대한 정화 의식으로 암송아지를 태운 재들을 취할지니, 흐르는 물이 그릇 안에서 그것들에 담겨야 하리라.
17 And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
18 그리고 정결한 개인이 우슬초를 취하여 그것을 물속에 담가서 그것을 천막 위에 뿌리고, 모든 기물들 위에 뿌리며, 거기 있던 개개인들 위에 뿌리고, 뼈나 살해된 자나 죽은 자나 무덤을 만진 자 위에 뿌릴지니라.
18 And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
19 그런 다음에 그 정결한 개인이 셋째 날에, 또 일곱째 날에 그 불결한 자들 위에 뿌릴지니라. 그러고 나서 일곱째 날에는 그가 자신을 정화하고 자기 옷을 빨며 물속에서 목욕할지니, 그리하면 그가 저녁때 정결해지리라.
19 And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
20 그러나 불결해지고도 자신을 정화하지 아니할 그 사람, 곧 그 혼은 회중 가운데서 끊어지리니, 그가 주의 성소를 더럽힌 까닭이라. 구별의 물이 그의 위에 뿌려지지 아니하였으니, 그가 불결하니라.
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
21 그런즉 그것이 그들에게 영속적인 규례가 되리니, 구별의 물을 뿌리는 자가 자기 옷을 빨게 하려 함이라. 그리하여 구별의 물을 만지는 자는 저녁때까지 불결하리라.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
22 그리고 그 불결한 개인이 만지는 것은 무엇이나 불결해지리라. 그리고 그것을 만지는 혼은 저녁때까지 불결하리라.’”
22 And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
