1 지혜로운 여자마다 자신의 집을 세우느니라. 그러나 어리석은 여자는 자신의 두 손으로 그것을 허물어뜨리느니라.
1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
2 자신의 올바름 가운데 살아가는 자는 주를 두려워하느니라. 그러나 자신의 길들 가운데 비뚤어진 자는 그분을 멸시하느니라.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 어리석은 자의 입에는 교만의 막대기가 있느니라. 그러나 지혜로운 자들의 입술은 그들을 보존하리라.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 소들이 없는 곳에는 여물통이 깨끗하니라. 그러나 수소의 힘에 의하여 많은 소산이 있느니라.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 신실한 증인은 거짓말하지 아니하리라. 그러나 거짓 증인은 거짓말들을 발설하리라.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6 경멸하는 자는 지혜를 구해도 그것을 발견하지 못하느니라. 그러나 지식은 이해하는 자에게 쉬우니라.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
7 네가 어리석은 사람에게서 지식의 입술을 인지하지 못할 때는 그의 면전에서 떠나가라.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 신중한 자의 지혜는 자신의 길을 이해하는 것이라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 속임수니라.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 어리석은 자들은 죄를 조롱하느니라. 그러나 의로운 자들 가운데 호의가 있느니라.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10 마음은 자기 자신의 비참함을 아느니라. 그리고 타국인은 그의 즐거움에 상관하지 아니하느니라.
10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
11 사악한 자들의 집은 괴멸되리라. 그러나 올바른 자들의 장막은 번창하리라.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
12 사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있으나 그 끝은 죽음의 길들이라.
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 웃을 때조차 마음은 슬퍼하느니라. 그리고 그 희락의 끝은 상심이라.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
14 마음이 타락한 자는 자기 자신의 길들로 가득 채워지리라. 그리고 선한 사람은 자신에게서 만족을 얻으리라.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 우매한 자는 모든 말마다 믿느니라. 그러나 신중한 사람은 자신의 행보를 잘 살피느니라.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 지혜로운 사람은 두려워하여 악에서 떠나느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자는 분개하고 자신 있어 하느니라.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
17 급히 분노하는 자는 어리석게 처신하느니라. 그리고 사악한 계책들을 꾀하는 사람은 증오를 받느니라.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 우매한 자들은 어리석음을 상속하느니라. 그러나 신중한 자들은 지식으로 왕관이 씌워지느니라.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 악한 자들은 선한 자들 앞에서 절하느니라. 그리고 사악한 자들은 의로운 자들의 대문들에서 절하느니라.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 가난한 자는 자기 자신의 이웃에게조차 증오를 받느니라. 그러나 부자에게는 많은 친구들이 있느니라.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
21 자기 이웃을 멸시하는 자는 죄를 짓느니라. 그러나 가난한 자들에게 자비를 베푸는 자, 그는 행복하니라.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
22 악을 고안하는 자들은 잘못하고 있는 것이 아니냐? 그러나 선을 고안하는 자들에게는 자비와 진리가 있으리라.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
23 모든 수고에는 유익이 있느니라. 그러나 입술로 떠드는 것은 빈곤함에 이를 뿐이라.
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24 지혜로운 자들의 왕관은 그들의 재물들이라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 어리석음은 어리석은 짓이라.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 진실한 증인은 혼들을 구출하느니라. 그러나 속임수로 가득한 증인은 거짓말들을 내뱉느니라.
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
26 주를 두려워함 가운데는 강한 확신이 있느니라. 그런즉 그분의 자녀들에게는 피난처가 있으리라.
26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 주를 두려워하는 것은 생명의 원천이요, 사망의 올무들에게서 떠나게 하느니라.
27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 백성의 많음은 왕의 영예라. 그러나 백성의 부족함은 통치자의 멸망이라.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 진노하기를 늦추는 자는 대단한 명철을 지닌 것이라. 그러나 영이 조급한 자는 어리석음을 크게 높이느니라.
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30 건전한 마음은 육체의 생명이라. 그러나 시기는 뼈들을 썩게 하는 것이라.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
31 가난한 자를 압제하는 자는 그를 만드신 분을 모욕하는 것이라. 그러나 그분을 공경하는 자는 가난한 자에게 자비를 베푸느니라.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
32 사악한 자는 자신의 사악함 가운데서 내쫓기느니라. 그러나 의로운 자는 자신의 죽음 가운데서도 소망을 지니느니라.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
33 지혜는 명철이 있는 자의 마음속에서 안식하느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들 한복판에 있는 것은 알려지느니라.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 의는 민족을 크게 높이느니라. 그러나 죄는 어떤 백성에게도 치욕이라.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 왕의 호의는 지혜로운 종에게 향하느니라. 그러나 그의 진노는 수치를 일으키는 자를 대적하느니라.
35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
