1 이제 느밧의 아들 여로보암왕의 제십팔 년에 아비얌이 유다를 통치하였더라.

1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

2 예루살렘에서 그가 삼 년 동안 통치하였더라. 그리고 그의 어머니의 이름은 아비샬롬의 딸 마아카였더라.

2 Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

3 그리고 그가 그의 아버지의 모든 죄들, 곧 아버지가 그의 앞에서 행한 죄들 가운데서 살아갔더라. 그리고 그의 마음이 주 그의 하나님과 더불어 완전하지 아니하였으니, 그의 조상 다윗의 마음 같지 아니하였더라.

3 And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

4 그럼에도 불구하고 주 그의 하나님께서 다윗으로 인하여 예루살렘에서 그에게 한 등불을 주셨으니, 그의 뒤를 이어 그의 아들을 세우시고 예루살렘을 확고히 세우셨더라.

4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

5 이는 다윗이 히타이트족 우리야 사건만을 제외하고는 주의 눈들에 옳은 것을 행하여 그분께서 그에게 명령하신 어떤 것에서도 그의 생애의 모든 날들 동안 벗어나지 아니하였기 때문이라.

5 Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

6 그리고 르호보암과 여로보암 사이에는 그의 생애의 모든 날들 동안 전쟁이 있었더라.

6 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 이제 아비얌의 행적들 중 나머지와 그가 행한 모든 것, 곧 그것들이 유다 왕들의 연대기들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? 그런즉 아비얌과 여로보암 사이에 전쟁이 있었더라.

7 Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

8 이후에 아비얌이 그의 조상들과 함께 잠들었더라. 그리하여 그들이 그를 다윗의 도시 안에 장사하였더라. 그리고 그의 아들 아사가 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.

8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.

9 ¶ 그리고 이스라엘 왕 여로보암의 제이십년에 아사가 유다를 통치하였더라.

9 ¶ And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.

10 그런즉 그는 예루살렘에서 사십일 년 동안 통치하였더라. 그리고 그의 어머니의 이름은 아비샬롬의 딸 마아카였더라.

10 And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 그리고 아사는 그의 조상 다윗이 행한 대로 주의 눈들에 옳은 것을 행하였더라.

11 And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.

12 그런즉 그가 그 지역에서 소돔족³들을 제거하고 그의 조상들이 만든 모든 우상들을 치웠더라.

12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

13 게다가 그의 어머니인 마아카, 그녀까지도 그가 태후직에서 폐하였으니, 그녀가 한 작은 수풀 속에 어떤 우상을 만든 까닭이라. 그리하여 아사가 그녀의 우상을 파괴하였고 그것을 키드론 시내 옆에서 태웠더라.

13 And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

14 그러나 높은 처소들은 치워지지 아니하였더라. 그럼에도 불구하고 아사의 마음이 그의 모든 날들 동안 주께 완전하였더라.

14 But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

15 그리고 그가 자기 조상이 봉헌한 것들과 자신이 봉헌한 것들을 주의 집 안으로 들였으니, 곧 은과 금과 기물들이라.

15 And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 ¶ 그리고 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아샤 사이에는 그들의 모든 날들에 전쟁이 있었더라.

16 ¶ And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

17 이후에 이스라엘 왕 바아샤가 유다를 대적하여 올라왔고, 라마흐를 건축하였으니, 그는 아무도 유다의 아사왕에게 나가거나 들어가는 것을 용납하지 않으려 하였더라.

17 And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

18 그때 아사가 주의 집의 보물들과 왕의 집의 보물들 안에 남아 있던 모든 은과 금을 취하여 그것들을 그의 종들의 손에 넘겼더라. 그리고 아사왕이 타브리몬의 아 들이자 헤지온의 자손이며 다마스쿠스에 거하던 시리아 왕 벤하닷에게 그것들을 보내며 이같이 말하였더라.

18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

19 “나와 당신 사이에, 또 나의 아버지와 당신의 아버지 사이에 한 맹약이 있나이다. 보소서, 내가 당신에게 은과 금으로 된 증여물을 보냈나이다. 오셔서 이스라엘 왕 바아샤와 맺은 당신의 맹약을 깨시어 그가 나에게서 떠나게 하소서.”

19 There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

20 그렇게 하여 벤하닷이 아사왕에게 경청하였으니, 그가 이스라엘의 도시들을 대적하려고 보유한 군대들의 대장들을 보내서 이욘과 단과 아벨벧마아카와, 킨느롯 전체를 납탈리 전역과 더불어 쳤더라.

20 So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21 그런즉 바아샤가 그것에 관하여 들었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그가 라마흐를 건축하는 것을 중지하고 티르자에서 지냈더라.

21 And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

22 그때 아사왕이 온 유다에 걸쳐 한 포고령을 내렸으니, 아무도 면제받지 못하였더라. 그들이 라마흐의 돌들과 그곳의 재목을 들어냈으니, 그것들은 바아샤가 건축할 때 썼던 것들이라. 그리하여 아사왕이 그것들로 베냐민의 그바와, 미즈파를 건축하였더라.

22 Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 아사의 모든 행적들 중 나머지와 그의 모든 위세와 그가 행한 모든 것과 그가 건설한 도시들, 곧 그것들이 유다 왕들의 연대기들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? 그럼에도 불구하고 그의 노년기에는 그가 자신의 두 발에 질병이 생겼더라.

23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

24 그리하여 아사가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠들었으니, 그의 조상들과 함께 그의 조상 다윗의 도시 안에 장사되었더라. 그리고 그의 아들 여호샤팟이 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.

24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

25 ¶ 이후에 여로보암의 아들 나답이 유다 왕 아사의 제이년에 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하였으니, 이스라엘을 이 년 동안 통치하였더라.

25 ¶ And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

26 그리고 그는 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 그의 아버지의 길 가운데 살아갔으니, 그가 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 만든 그의 죄 가운데 살아갔더라.

26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

27 ¶ 그리고 잇사칼의 집에 속한, 아히쟈의 아들 바아샤가 그를 대적하여 모반하였더라. 그런즉 바아샤가 필리스티아인들에게 속하였던 깁브돈에서 그를 쳤더라. 이는 나답과 온 이스라엘이 깁브돈을 포위하였기 때문이라.

27 ¶ And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

28 즉, 유다 왕 아사의 제삼년에 바아샤가 그를 살해하고 나답을 대신하여 통치하였더라.

28 Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

29 그리고 그가 통치할 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그가 여로보암의 온 집을 쳤더라. 그는 자신이 여로보암을 멸할 때까지, 호흡하던 자는 누구라도 여로보암에게 남기지 아니하였으니, 주께서 말씀하신 것, 곧 친히 그분의 종 실로족 아히쟈를 통하여 말씀하신 것에 따른 것이라.

29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

30 이는 여로보암이 지은 그의 죄들과, 그가 이스라엘의 주 하나님께 분노를 일으킨 그의 자극에 의하여 그가 이스라엘로 하여금 죄짓게 한 죄들 때문이더라.

30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

31 ¶ 이제 나답의 행적들 중 나머지와 그가 행한 모든 것, 곧 그것들이 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?

31 ¶ Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

32 그리고 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아샤 사이에는 그들의 모든 날들 동안 전쟁이 있었더라.

32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

33 유다 왕 아사의 제삼년에 아히쟈의 아들 바아샤가 온 이스라엘을 티르자에서 통치하기 시작하여 이십사 년간 지속하였더라.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

34 그리고 그가 주의 목전에 악을 행하고 여로보암의 길 가운데 살아갔으니, 그가 이스라엘이 죄를 짓게 하는데 사용한 그의 죄 가운데 살아갔더라.

34 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
