1 그리고 이 일들 후에 이런 일이 있었으니, 이즈르엘족 나봇은 한 포도원을 보유하였는데, 그것은 이즈르엘 안에 있었고 사마리아의 아합왕의 궁전에서 아주 가까웠더라.
1 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2 그런즉 아합이 나봇에게 일러 말하기를, “나에게 너의 포도원을 달라. 이는 그것이 나의 집에서 가까우므로 내가 그것을 야채들을 위한 정원으로 두려 함이라. 그리하면 내가 그것을 대신하여 너에게 그것보다 더 좋은 포도원을 주겠노라. 아니면 그것이 너에게 좋아 보이면 내가 너에게 그것에 상응하는 바를 돈으로 주겠노라.” 하였더라.
2 And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.
3 그러자 나봇이 아합에게 말하기를, “제가 저의 조상들의 유산을 당신께 드리는 것을 주께서 제게 금하시기를 바라나이다.” 하였더라.
3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
4 이에 아합이 이즈르엘족 나봇이 자신에게 언급한 말 때문에 무겁고 불쾌한 기분으로 자기 집으로 들어왔더라. 이는 그가 말하기를, “제가 저의 조상들의 유산을 당신께 주지 아니하겠나이다.” 하였기 때문이라. 그리하여 그가 자기 침상 위에 드러누워 자기 얼굴을 돌린 채 빵을 먹으려 하지 아니하였더라.
4 And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5 ¶ 그러나 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 와서 그에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 당신의 영이 이처럼 슬퍼서 당신께서 빵도 드시지 아니하시나이까?” 하였더라.
5 ¶ But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
6 그러자 그가 그녀에게 이같이 말하였더라. “이는 내가 이즈르엘족 나봇에게 이야기하여 그에게 말하기를, ‘돈을 받고 너의 포도원을 나에게 달라. 그렇지 않고 만일 그것이 너를 기쁘게 한다면 내가 너에게 그것을 대신하여 또 다른 포도원을 주겠노라.’ 하였는데 그가 대답하기를, ‘저는 당신께 제 포도원을 드리지 않겠나이다.’ 하였기 때문이라.”
6 And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.
7 이에 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 말하기를, “당신이 지금 이스라엘의 왕국에 정권을 행사하고 계시나이까? 일어나서 빵을 드시고 당신의 마음을 즐겁게 하소서. 제가 당신께 이즈르엘족 나봇의 포도원을 드리겠나이다.” 하였더라.
7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
8 그렇게 하여 그녀가 아합의 이름으로 편지들을 적어 그것들을 그의 인장으로 인을 쳤으니, 그 편지들을 그의 도시 안에 있으면서 나봇과 함께 거하는 장로들과 귀족들에게 보냈더라.
8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9 그리고 그녀는 이와 같은 말로 편지들을 적었더라. “한 금식을 공포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 세우라.
9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
10 그리고 벨리알의 아들들인 두 남자들을 그의 앞에 세워서 그를 대적하여 이와 같은 말로 증거하게 하기를, ‘너는 하나님과 왕을 모독하였도다.’ 하라. 그러고 난 다음에 그를 밖으로 이동시키고, 돌로 그를 쳐서 그를 죽게 하라.”
10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11 그러자 그의 도시에 속한 남자들, 곧 그의 도시 안에 있던 거주자들인 장로들과 귀족들이 이세벨이 그들에게 보낸 대로, 또 그녀가 그들에게 보낸 편지들에 적혀 있는 대로 행하였더라.
11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12 그들이 한 금식을 공포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 세웠더라.
12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
13 이에 벨리알의 자식들인 두 남자들이 와서 그의 앞에 앉았더라. 그리고 그 벨리알의 사람들이 그를 대적하여 증거하였으니, 곧 백성의 면전에서 나봇을 대적하여 말하기를, “나봇이 하나님과 왕을 모독하였도다.” 하였더라. 그때 그들이 그를 도시에서 밖으로 끌고 가서, 돌들로 그를 쳤더니, 그가 죽었더라.
13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14 그때 그들이 이세벨에게 사람을 보내며 말하기를, “나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다.” 하였더라.
14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
15 ¶ 그러자 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다는 것을 이세벨이 들었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 이세벨이 아합에게 말하기를, “일어나소서. 이즈르엘족 나봇이 돈을 받는 조건으로도 당신에게 주는 것을 거절하였던 그의 포도원의 소유권을 차지하소서. 이는 나봇이 살아 있지 아니하고 오히려 죽었기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.
15 ¶ And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16 이에 나봇이 죽었다는 것을 아합이 들었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 아합이 이즈르엘족 나봇의 포도원으로 내려가려고 일어나서 그것의 소유권을 차지하려 하였더라.
16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17 ¶ 그러자 주의 말씀이 티셉족 엘리야에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
17 ¶ And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18 “일어나라. 사마리아에 있는, 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나러 내려가라. 보라, 그가 나봇의 포도원 안에 있으니, 그가 그것을 차지하려고 거기로 내려갔도다.
18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.
19 그런즉 너는 그에게 일러 말하기를, ‘주가 이같이 말하노라. ‘네가 사람을 죽인 것도 모자라 소유권을 빼앗느냐?’’ 그런 다음에 너는 그에게 말하기를, ‘주가 이같이 말하노라. ‘개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 이 장소에서 개들이 너의 피를 핥으리니, 바로 너의 것이라.’’ 할지니라.”
19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
20 이윽고 아합이 엘리야에게 말하기를, “오, 나의 원수여, 네가 나를 찾았느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 대답하였더라. “내가 너를 찾았노라. 이는 네가 주의 목전에서 악을 벌이는 일에 너 자신을 팔아 버렸기 때문이라.
20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.
21 보라, 내가 너의 위에 해악을 가져오겠고, 너의 후대를 제거하겠으며, 벽에 오줌 누는 자와 이스라엘 안에 갇히고 남겨진 자를 아합으로부터 끊어 버리겠노라.
21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
22 그리고 너의 집을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집같이, 또 아히쟈의 아들 바아샤의 집같이 만들겠노라. 이는 네가 나에게 분노를 일으키고 이스라엘을 죄짓게 한 자극 때문이라.
22 And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.
23 그리고 이세벨에 관해서도 주가 일러 말하기를, ‘개들이 이즈르엘의 벽에서 이세벨을 먹으리라.’ 하였도다.
23 And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.
24 아합에게 속한 자 중에서 도시 안에서 죽는 자는 개들이 먹을 것이요, 들판에서 죽는 자는 공중의 날짐승들이 먹을 것이라.”
24 Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
25 ¶ 그러나 주의 목전에서 사악함을 이루는 일에 자신을 팔았던 아합 같은 자가 아무도 없었으니, 그의 아내 이세벨이 그를 부추겼더라.
25 ¶ But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26 그런즉 그가 우상들을 따르는 일에 있어, 주께서 이스라엘 자녀들 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리족들이 행한 것과 같은 모든 것들을 따라 몹시 가증하게 행하였더라.
26 And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
27 그러고 나서 아합이 그 말들을 들었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그가 그의 옷을 찢고 그의 맨살에 굵은 베를 대어 금식하였으며 굵은 베 가운데 눕고 조심스럽게 갔더라.
27 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28 그러자 주의 말씀이 티셉족 엘리야에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
28 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 “너는 아합이 얼마나 내 앞에서 겸손히 스스로 행하는지 보느냐? 그가 내 앞에서 스스로 겸손히 행한 까닭에 내가 그의 날들에 그 해악을 가져오지 아니하겠노라. 오직 그의 아들의 날들에 내가 그의 집 위에 그 해악을 가져오겠노라.”
29 Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.
