데살로니가후서 1장

1 바울과 실바누스¹와 디모데우스²는 우리 아버지이신 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 데살로니가인들의 교회에 편지하노라.

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2 우리 아버지이신 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평안이 너희에게 있기를 기원하노라.

2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 우리는 너희로 인하여 항상 하나님께 감사드리지 않을 수 없느니라. 형제들아, 그것은 온당하니, 너희의 믿음이 지극히 많이 성장하고 너희 각자의 성도 사랑이 서로를 향하여 넘치기 때문이라.

3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

4 그러한 이유로 너희가 견디고 있는 너희의 모든 박해들과 환란들 가운데 드러난 너희의 인내와 믿음으로 인하여 우리 스스로 하나님의 교회들 안에서 너희를 자랑하노라.

4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

5 그것은 하나님의 의로운 심판이 명백하게 드러나는 징표니, 너희가 하나님의 왕국에 합당하게 여겨지도록 하려 함이라. 이 왕국을 위하여 너희 역시 고통을 견디느니라.

5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

6 너희를 괴롭히는 자들에게 환란으로 갚으시는 것이 하나님께는 의로운 일이며,

6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 또 괴롭힘을 당하는 너희에게 우리와 더불어 안식으로 갚아주시는 것도 하나님께는 의로운 일이므로, 주 예수께서 그분의 막강한 천사들과 함께 하늘에서부터 나타나 보이실 때,

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 하나님을 모르는 자들과 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 복음에 순종하지 않는 자들에게 맹렬한 불속에서 복수하시리라.

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

9 그들은 주의 임재와 그분의 권능의 영광으로부터 떠나 영원한 멸망으로 형벌을 받으리라.

9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

10 그날은 그분께서 오시어 자신의 성도들 가운데 영광을 받으실 것이요, 믿는 모든 자들 안에서 추앙받으실 때라. (이는 우리의 증언이 너희 가운데서 믿어졌기 때문이라.)

10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

11 이런 이유로 우리 또한 너희를 위하여 항상 기도하나니, 우리 하나님께서 너희를 이 부르심에 합당하게 여기시고, 그분의 선하심에서 나오는 모든 선한 기쁨을 이루시며, 권능으로 믿음의 역사를 이루시기를 바람이라.

11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

12 이는 우리 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 따라 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름이 너희 안에서 영광스럽게 되고 너희도 그분 안에서 영광스럽게 되게 하려 함이라.

12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
