빌레몬서 1장

1 예수 그리스도의 속박된 자인 바울과 우리의 형제 디모데는 우리의 진심 어린 사랑을 받는 자이자 동료 일꾼인 빌레몬에게 편지하노라.

1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

2 또한 우리의 사랑받는 압피아에게 그리고 우리의 동료 군인 아르킵푸스와 너의 집에 있는 교회에게 편지하노라.

2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

3 우리 아버지이신 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평안이 너희에게 있기를 기원하노라.

3 Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 내가 나의 기도들에 항상 너를 언급하면서 하나님께 감사하노니,

4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

5 너의 사랑과 믿음에 대하여 듣고 있음이라. 그것은 네가 주 예수와 모든 성도들을 향하여 가지고 있는 것이라.

5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

6 이는 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 안에 있는 모든 선한 것마다 인정함으로써 너의 믿음에 관해 나누는 일이 효과 있게 하려 함이라.

6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

7 형제여, 이는 우리가 너의 사랑으로 말미암아 크나큰 즐거움과 위안을 얻었기 때문이니, 너로 인하여 성도들의 심정이 활력을 되찾은 까닭이라.

7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

8 이런 이유로 내가 그리스도 안에서 매우 담대하여 너에게 합당한 것을 일러서 시킬 수 있지만,

8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

9 그럼에도 사랑으로 인하여 내가 오히려 너에게 간청하노니, 나 바울은 나이 많은 자로서 그리고 지금도 예수 그리스도의 속박된 자로서 간청하노라.

9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

10 나의 아들 오네시무스를 위하여 내가 너에게 간청하노니, 그는 나의 결박들 가운데서 내가 낳은 자니라.

10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

11 그가 과거에는 너에게 무익하였으나 이제는 너와 나에게 유익하노라.

11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

12 내가 그를 다시 보내었노라. 그러므로 너는 그를 맞아들이라. 그는 말하자면 나 자신의 심정과도 같은 자라.

12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

13 내가 너 대신 그로 하여금 복음의 결박들 가운데 있는 나를 섬기게 하려고 그를 나와 함께 두고 싶었지만

13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

14 너의 승낙 없이 나는 아무것도 하고 싶지 않으니, 너의 은택이 어쩔 수 없는 것처럼 되지 아니하고 기꺼이 하는 것이 되게 하려 함이라.

14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

15 그런즉 그가 한동안 떠나 있던 것이 아마 너로 하여금 영원히 그를 맞아들이게 하려는 것 때문이었으리라.

15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

16 이제는 종으로서가 아니요, 오히려 종 이상의 사랑받는 형제로서 특별히 나에게 그러한데, 하물며 너에게는 육체 안에서도 주 안에서도 얼마나 더 많이 그러하겠느냐?

16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

17 그러므로 만일 네가 나를 동반자로 여긴다면 나를 맞아들이는 것처럼 그를 맞아들이라.

17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

18 만일 그가 너에게 피해를 준 것이나 너에게 조금이라도 빚진 것이 있다면 내 회계 장부에 달아 놓으라.

18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

19 나 바울이 나의 손으로 직접 그것을 썼으니, 내가 그것을 되갚겠노라. 그렇다 할지라도 나는 네가 얼마나 나에게 빚지고 있는지, 곧 너 자신이 따로 빚진 것을 너에게 말하지 아니하노라.

19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

20 형제여, 진정 내가 주 안에서 너에 관하여 즐거움을 누리도록 허락하라. 주 안에서 나의 심정이 활력을 되찾게 하라.

20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

21 네가 또한 내가 말한 것 이상으로 행할 것을 알기에 너의 순종을 확신하면서 내가 너에게 썼노라.

21 Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

22 한편 이에 더하여 나에게 숙소도 하나 마련해 달라. 이는 내가 너희의 기도들을 통하여 너희에게 보내어질 것을 내가 확신하기 때문이라.

22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

23 그리스도 예수 안에서 나의 동료 수감자인 에파프라스가 너에게 문안하느니라.

23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

24 나의 동료 일꾼들인 마르쿠스¹와 아리스타쿠스와 데마와 루카스²도 문안하노라.

24 Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

25 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜가 너희의 영과 함께 있기를 기원하노라. 아멘.

25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

26 ¶ 로마에서 기록되어 종인 오네시무스 편으로 빌레몬에게 전송됨.
