예레미야서 1장

1 베냐민 지역 아나돗에 있던 제사장들 중 힐키야의 아들 예레미야의 말들이라.

1 The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:

2 아몬의 아들이자 유다 왕인 요시야의 날들이요, 그의 통치 제십삼년에 예레미야에게 주의 말씀이 임하였더라.

2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

3 그 말씀은 또한 요시야의 아들이자 유다 왕인 여호야킴의 날들에 임하였나니, 요시야의 아들이자 유다 왕인 시드키야의 제십일년의 끝까지, 곧 다섯째 달에 예루살렘이 포로로 잡혀 갈 때까지라.

3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

4 그때 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 “내가 너를 뱃속에서 형성하기 전부터 내가 너를 알았고, 네가 태에서 나오기 전부터 내가 너를 성결하게 구별하였으니, 나는 너를 민족들에게로 향하는 예언자로 임명하였노라.”

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 그때 내가 말씀드리기를, “아, 주 하나님이시여! 보소서. 제가 말할 수 없나이다. 이는 제가 아이이기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 ¶ 그러나 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “‘제가 아이니이다.’ 라고 말하지 말라. 이는 내가 너를 보낼 모든 자에게 네가 갈 것이요, 내가 너에게 명령하는 것은 무엇이든지 네가 말할 것이기 때문이라.

7 ¶ But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 그들의 얼굴을 무서워하지 말라. 이는 내가 너를 구출하려고 너와 함께 있기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라.”

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

9 그때 주께서 그분의 손을 내미시어 나의 입을 만지셨더라. 그러면서 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “보라, 내가 나의 말들을 너의 입안에 두었노라.

9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

10 보라, 내가 이날에 너를 민족들과 왕국들 위에 세웠나니, 그것들을 뿌리 뽑고 허물어뜨리며 멸하고 엎어뜨리며 세우고 심기 위함이라.”

10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

11 ¶ 이와 더불어 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하여 말씀하시기를, “예레미야야, 네가 무엇을 보느냐?” 하셨느니라. 그런즉 내가 말씀드리기를, “제가 아몬드나무의 어린 가지를 보나이다.” 하였더라.

11 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

12 그러자 주께서 나에게 말씀하시기를, “네가 잘 보았도다. 이는 그것을 수행하기 위하여 내가 나의 말을 서두를 것이기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.

12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

13 그런 다음에 주의 말씀이 두 번째로 나에게 임하여 말씀하시기를, “네가 무엇을 보느냐?” 하셨느니라. 이에 내가 말씀드리기를, “제가 끓는 냄비를 보는데 그것의 앞면이 북쪽을 향하나이다.” 하였더라.

13 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.

14 그때 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “북쪽에서 나온 해악이 그 지역의 모든 거주자들 위에 터져 나오리라.

14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

15 이는 보라, 내가 북쪽 왕국들의 모든 족속들을 부를 것이기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라. 그런즉 그들이 올 것이요, 그들이 모두 저마다 예루살렘의 대문들의 진입로에다 자신의 보좌를 세우고 그곳의 주위에 있는 모든 성벽들을 대적하고 유다의 모든 도시들을 대적하리라.

15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

16 그리하여 나는 그들을 대적하여 그들의 모든 사악함과 관련한 나의 심판들을 언도하겠노라. 그들은 나를 저버렸고 다른 신들에게 향을 태웠으며 그들 자신의 손에서 나온 작업물들을 경배하였도다.

16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

17 ¶ 그러므로 너는 너의 허리를 동여매고 일어나서 내가 너에게 명령하는 모든 것을 그들에게 전하라. 그들의 얼굴들을 볼 때 좌절하지 말지니, 내가 그들 앞에서 너를 당황하지 않게 하려 함이라.

17 ¶ Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

18 이는 보라, 이날에 내가 너를 방어가 강화된 도시와 철 기둥과 놋 성벽들로 삼아 온 지역을 대적하고, 유다의 왕들을 대적하며, 그곳의 통치자들을 대적하고, 그곳의 제사장들을 대적하며, 그 지역의 백성을 대적하게 하였기 때문이라.

18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

19 그런즉 그들이 너를 대적하여 싸우리라. 그러나 그들은 너를 대적하여 승리하지 못하리라. 이는 내가 너를 구출하려고 너와 함께 있기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라.”

19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
