예레미야서 25장

1 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야킴 제사년이요, 바빌론 왕 네부카드레자르의 제일년에 유다의 모든 백성에 관하여 예레미야에게 임한 말씀이라.

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

2 예언자 예레미야가 유다의 모든 백성과 예루살렘의 모든 거주자들에게 이같이 일러 말하였더라.

2 The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

3 “유다 왕 아몬의 아들 요시야의 제십삼년부터 제이십삼년인 이날에 이르기까지 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하였으니, 내가 일찍 일어나서 전하면서 너희에게 말하여 왔도다. 그러나 너희는 경청하지 아니하였도다.

3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

4 그런즉 주께서 일찍 일어나 그들을 보내시면서 예언자들인 그분의 모든 종들을 너희에게 보내셨도다. 그러나 너희는 경청하지 아니하였고 들으려고 너희의 귀를 기울이지도 아니하였도다.

4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

5 그들은 이같이 말하였도다. ‘너희는 이제 모두 저마다 자기 악한 길에서, 너희 거동들의 악으로부터 다시 돌이켜서 주께서 너희와 너희 조상들에게 영원무궁토록 준 그 지역 안에 거하라.

5 They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

6 그리고 다른 신들을 섬기며 그들을 경배하고자 그들을 따라가지 말고, 너희 손들의 작업물들로 나에게 분노를 일으키지 말라. 그리하면 내가 너희를 손상시키지 아니하겠노라.’

6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

7 주가 말하노라. 그럼에도 너희는 나의 말에 경청하지 아니하였으니, 너희가 너희 손들의 작업물들로 나에게 분노를 일으켜 너희 자신의 손상으로 향하려 함이라.

7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

8 ¶ 그러므로 만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 이는 너희가 나의 말들을 듣지 아니한 까닭이라.

8 ¶ Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

9 보라, 내가 사람을 보내서 북방의 모든 족속들을 데려오겠노라. 주가 말하노라. 그리하여 나의 종 바빌론 왕 네부카드레자르를 데려오겠으니, 이 지역을 대적하고 그곳의 거주자들을 대적하며 주위에 있는 이 모든 민족들을 대적하여 그들을 데려오겠으며, 그들을 모조리 멸하고 그들을 경악 거리와 쉭쉭대는 야유 거리와 영속적인 황무지들로 만들리라.

9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

10 더욱이 내가 그들에게서 희락의 음성과 반가움의 음성과 신랑의 음성과 신부의 음성과 연자 맷돌 소리와 등잔불의 빛을 앗아가리라.

10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

11 그리하여 이 지역 전체가 황무지와 경악스러움이 될 것이요, 이 민족들은 바빌론 왕을 칠십 년 동안 섬기리라.

11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

12 ¶ 이후에 칠십 년이 다 찰 때 이러한 일이 있으리니, 내가 바빌론 왕과 그 민족과 칼데아인들의 지역에 그들의 죄악으로 인하여 형벌을 내리겠노라. 주가 말하노라. 그리고 그곳을 영속적인 황무지들로 만들겠노라.

12 ¶ And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

13 그리고 내가 그곳을 대적하여 천명한 나의 모든 말들을 친히 그 지역 위에 가져오겠으니, 바로 이 책 안에 기록된 모든 것이요, 예레미야가 이 모든 민족들을 대적하여 예언한 것이라.

13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

14 이는 또한 많은 민족들과 위대한 왕들이 그들로 하여금 자신들을 섬기게 할 것이기 때문이라. 그리고 내가 그들의 행실들에 따라, 또 그들 자신의 손들이 지은 것들을 따라 그들에게 갚겠노라.

14 For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

15 ¶ 이스라엘의 주 하나님께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨기 때문이라. 나의 손에서 이 노여움의 포도주 잔을 취하라. 그리하여 내가 너를 그리 보내는 모든 민족들로 하여금 그것을 마시게 하라.

15 ¶ For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

16 그리하면 그들이 마시고 휘청이며 미쳐 버리리니, 내가 그들 가운데 보낼 칼 때문이라.

16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

17 그때 내가 주의 손에서 그 잔을 취하였고, 이전에 주께서 나를 그리 보내신 모든 민족들로 하여금 그 잔을 마시게 하였도다.

17 Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

18 정확히 하자면 예루살렘과 유다의 도시들과 그곳의 왕들과 그곳의 통치자들로 하여금 마시게 한 것이니, 그들을 황무지와, 경악 거리와, 쉭쉭대는 야유 거리와, 저주로 전락시키기 위함이니, 오늘날과 같도다.

18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

19 이집트 왕 파라오와, 그의 종들과, 그의 통치자들과 그의 모든 백성도 그러하고,

19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

20 그리고 모든 섞인 백성들과 우즈 지역의 모든 왕들과, 필리스티아인들의 지역의 모든 왕들과, 아슈클론과 앗자와 에크론과 아슈돗의 남은 자들과,

20 And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

21 에돔과, 모압과, 암몬의 후손들도 그러하고,

21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

22 티루스의 모든 왕들과, 지돈의 모든 왕들과, 바다 너머에 있는 섬들의 왕들과,

22 And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

23 드단과 테마와 부즈와 맨 끝 구석들에 있는 모든 자들도 그러하고,

23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

24 아라비아의 모든 왕들과, 사막 가운데 거하는 섞인 백성들의 모든 왕들도 그러하고,

24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

25 지므리의 모든 왕들과 엘람의 모든 왕들과 메데 사람들의 모든 왕들도 그러하고,

25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

26 멀거나 가까운 북방의 모든 왕들 한 사람 한 사람과, 땅의 표면 위에 있는 세상의 모든 왕국들도 그러하였도다. 그리고 셰샥 왕이 그들 이후에 마시리라.

26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

27 그러므로 너는 그들에게 이같이 말하라. 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 마시고 내가 너희 가운데로 보낼 칼로 인하여 취하고 토하며 쓰러져서 더 이상 일어나지 말라.

27 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

28 그리고 만일 그들이 너의 손에서 그 잔을 받아 마시기를 거부한다면 이러한 일이 일어나리니, 그때 너는 그들에게 이같이 말하라. ‘만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 틀림없이 마시리라.’

28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

29 이는 보라, 내 이름으로 불리는 도시 위에 내가 해악을 가져오기 시작하는데 너희가 형벌을 일체 면하랴? 너희는 형벌을 면하지 못하리라. 이는 내가 땅의 모든 거주자들 위로 칼을 불러올 것이기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

30 그러므로 너는 그들을 대적하여 이 모든 말들을 예언하고 그들에게 이같이 말하라. 주가 높은 곳에서 포효하고 그의 거룩한 거처에서 그의 목소리를 발하는도다. 그가 그의 거처 위에서 막강하게 포효하리라. 그가 고함을 지르리니, 포도들을 밟는 자들같이 땅의 모든 거주자들을 대적하여 그러하리라.

30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 요란한 소리가 심지어 땅의 끝들까지 이르리라. 이는 주가 민족들과 논란을 일으킬 것이기 때문이니, 그가 모든 육체와 변론하리라. 그는 사악한 그들을 칼에 내주리라. 주가 말하노라.

31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

32 만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 악이 민족에서 민족으로 나아가리니, 거대한 회오리바람이 땅의 지경들에서 일으켜지리라.

32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

33 그리하면 그날에 땅의 한쪽 끝에서 땅의 다른 쪽 끝에 이르기까지 주께 살해당한 자들이 있으리라. 그들은 애도를 받지 못할 것이요, 거두어지지도 못할 것이요, 매장되지도 못하리라. 그들이 지면 위에 똥이 되리라.

33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

34 ¶ 너희, 목자들아, 울부짖고 외치라. 또 너희, 양 떼의 선도자들아, 재들 속에서 뒹굴라. 이는 너희 살육의 날들과 너희 흩어짐의 날들이 다 찼기 때문이라. 이는 너희가 기쁨을 주는 그릇처럼 떨어지리라.

34 ¶ Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

35 그리고 목자들에게는 대피로가 없을 것이요, 양 떼의 선도자들은 탈출로가 없으리라.

35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

36 목자들의 부르짖음의 음성과 양 떼의 선도자들의 울부짖음이 들려오리라. 이는 주가 그들의 초원을 해쳤기 때문이라.

36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

37 그리고 평화로운 거처들이 절단되어 쓰러졌으니, 주의 맹렬한 분노로 인함이라.

37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

38 그가 사자같이 자신의 잠복처를 저버렸도다. 이는 그들의 지역이 압제자의 맹렬함으로 인하여, 또 그의 맹렬한 분노로 인하여 황량해졌기 때문이라.’”

38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
