베드로후서 1장

1 예수 그리스도의 종이자 사도인 시몬 베드로는 하나님과 우리 구원자이신 예수 그리스도의 의를 통하여 우리와 더불어 동일하게 보배로운 믿음을 획득한 자들에게 편지하노라.

1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

2 하나님의 지식과 우리 주이신 예수님의 지식을 통하여 너희에게 은혜와 평안이 크게 늘어나기를 기원하노니,

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 그분의 신성한 권능이 생명과 경건에 속하는 모든 것들을 우리에게 주심에 따라 우리를 영광과 덕에 이르도록 부르신 분의 지식을 통하여 그리하노라.

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 그것들로 말미암아 우리에게 지극히 위대하고 보배로운 약속들이 주어졌으니, 이것들로 인하여 너희가 하나님의 본성의 동참자들이 되어 정욕을 통하여 세상 속에 있게 된 부패를 벗어나게 하려 함이라.

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 그런즉 이뿐만 아니라 열심을 다하여 너희의 믿음에 덕을 더하고, 덕에 지식을 더하고,

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 지식에 절제를 더하고, 절제에 인내를 더하고, 인내에 경건을 더하고,

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 경건에 형제다운 친절을 더하고, 형제다운 친절에 성도의 사랑을 더하라.

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 이는 만일 이런 것들이 너희 안에 있어 넘치면 그것들은 너희로 하여금 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 지식 안에서 너희가 생산을 못하는 자나 열매 없는 자가 되지 않도록 할 것이기 때문이라.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 그러나 이런 것들이 부족한 자는 눈멀고 멀리 내다 볼 수 없는 자요, 자신의 옛 죄들에서 깨끗하게 된 것을 잊어버린 자라.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 이러한 이유로 형제들아, 도리어 너희의 부르심과 택하심을 확실하게 하도록 애쓰라. 이는 만일 너희가 이런 것들을 한다면 너희는 결코 쓰러지지 아니할 것이기 때문이라.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 이는 그와 같이 우리 주, 곧 구원자 예수 그리스도의 영원한 왕국으로 들어가는 입구가 너희에게 풍부하게 공급될 것이기 때문이라.

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

12 이러한 이유로 비록 너희가 그것들을 알고 있고 현재의 진리 안에 확고히 세워졌어도 항상 너희로 하여금 이런 것들을 기억하게 하는 일에 나는 태만하지 아니하리라.

12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

13 진정 내가 이 장막 안에 있는 한, 너희로 하여금 기억하게 함으로써 너희를 각성하게 하는 것이 온당하다고 생각하노라.

13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

14 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 나에게 보여주신 그대로 내가 머지않아 나의 이 장막을 벗어야만 하는 것을 알고 있노라.

14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

15 더욱이 나는 내가 떠나간 후에도 너희가 이런 것들을 항상 기억할 수 있도록 노력하리라.

15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

16 이는 우리가 너희에게 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 권능과 오심을 알려 주었을 때 우리는 교활하게 고안된 허구들을 따른 것이 아니라 오히려 그분의 위엄의 목격자들이었기 때문이라.

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 이는 탁월한 영광으로부터 그와 같은 음성이 “이는 나의 사랑을 받는 아들이요, 내가 그의 안에서 매우 기뻐하노라.” 하고 그분께 임하였을 때 그분께서 하나님 아버지로부터 존귀와 영광을 받으셨기 때문이라.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 그런즉 우리가 그분과 함께 거룩한 산에 있었을 때 우리는 하늘로부터 온 이 음성을 들었느니라.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 또한 우리에게는 더 확실한 예언의 말씀이 있으니, 너희가 날이 밝아올 때까지 그리고 낮의 별이 너희 마음속에 떠오를 때까지 마치 어두운 곳에서 빛나는 빛에 주의하듯 예언의 말씀에 주의하는 것은 너희가 잘하는 것이라.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 우선 이것을 알지니, 성경 기록에 있는 예언은 어떤 것도 사사로운 해석에서 나온 것이 없도다.

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 이는 예언이 옛적에 사람의 뜻에 의하여 나온 것이 아니요, 다만 하나님의 거룩한 사람들이 성령님에 의하여 감동을 받은 대로 그들이 말한 것이기 때문이라.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
