고린도전서 1장

1 하나님의 뜻을 통하여 예수 그리스도의 사도가 되도록 부르심을 받은 바울과 우리 형제 소스데네스는

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회에게, 곧 그리스도 예수 안에서 성결하게 구별되고 성도들로 부르심을 받은 자들과 각처에서 그들과 우리 모두의 주이신 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 모든 자들에게 편지하노니,

2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

3 우리 아버지이신 하나님과 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평안이 너희에게 있기를 기원하노라.

3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 예수 그리스도를 통해 너희에게 주어지는 하나님의 은혜로 인하여 내가 너희를 대신해 나의 하나님께 항상 감사하노라.

4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

5 이는 너희가 모든 일마다 그분을 통하여 부요해졌고, 모든 발언과 모든 지식에 있어서도 그러함이라.

5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

6 곧 그리스도의 증언이 너희 안에서 확고해진 것과 같으니,

6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

7 너희가 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 오심을 기다리면서 어떤 은사에도 뒤처지지 않게 하려 함이라.

7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 그분께서는 또한 너희가 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 날에 비난받을 일이 없도록 끝까지 너희를 확고하게 하시리라.

8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 하나님께서는 신실하시니, 그분을 통하여 너희가 그분의 아들이신 예수 그리스도 우리 주의 교제로 부르심을 받았느니라.

9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 형제들아, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이제 내가 너희에게 간청하노니, 너희 모두가 같은 것을 말하여 너희 가운데 분열들이 전혀 없게 하고, 오직 너희가 같은 생각과 같은 판단으로 함께 완전히 결합하게 하려 함이라.

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11 나의 형제들아, 클로에의 집에 속한 이들을 통하여 너희에 관해 나에게 분명하게 밝혀진 것은 너희 가운데 다툼들이 있다는 것이라.

11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 이제 내가 이것을 말하노니, 너희 각자가 말하기를, “나는 바울에게 속한다.” 또 “나는 아폴로에게 속한다.” 또 “나는 게바에게 속한다.” 또 “나는 그리스도께 속한다.” 하는도다.

12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 그리스도께서 분열되셨느냐? 바울이 너희를 위하여 십자가에 못 박혔느냐? 아니면 바울의 이름으로 너희가 침례를 받았느냐?

13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14 내가 크리스푸스와 가이우스를 제외하고 너희 중 아무에게도 침례를 주지 않았음을 내가 하나님께 감사드리니,

14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15 어떤 이도 내가 나 자신의 이름으로 침례를 주었다고 말하지 못하게 하려 함이라.

15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

16 또한 내가 스테파나스의 집안사람들에게도 침례를 주었느니라. 그 밖에 내가 다른 누군가에게 침례를 주었는지 나는 모르는도다.

16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 이는 그리스도께서 나를 침례를 주라고 보내신 것이 아니요, 오히려 복음을 선포하라고 보내신 것이기 때문이라. 말들의 지혜로 하지 않음은 그리스도의 십자가가 아무 효력이 없게 되지 않도록 하려 함이라.

17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18 이는 십자가를 선포하는 것이 멸망하는 자들에게는 어리석음이기 때문이라. 그러나 구원받은 우리에게 그것은 하나님의 권능이라.

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19 이는 기록되기를, “내가 지혜로운 자들의 지혜를 멸하겠고, 신중한 자들의 명철을 아무 쓸모없게 하리라.” 하였기 때문이라.

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 지혜로운 자가 어디 있느냐? 율법 학자가 어디 있느냐? 이 세상의 변론가가 어디 있느냐? 하나님께서 이 세상의 지혜를 어리석게 하신 것이 아니냐?

20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 이는 하나님의 지혜에 있어서 세상이 지혜로 하나님을 몰랐기 때문에 복음 선포의 어리석음으로 믿는 자들을 구원하는 것이 하나님을 기쁘게 해 드렸느니라.

21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 이는 유대인들은 표적을 요구하고 헬라인들은 지혜를 추구하기 때문이라.

22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 그러나 우리는 십자가에 못 박히신 그리스도를 선포하나니, 유대인들에게는 걸려 넘어지게 하는 장애물이요, 헬라인들에게는 어리석음이로다.

23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 그러나 부르심을 받은 자들에게, 곧 유대인들과 헬라인들 모두에게 그리스도께서는 하나님의 권능이시자 하나님의 지혜이시라.

24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 이는 하나님의 어리석음이 사람들보다 더 지혜로우며, 하나님의 약함이 사람들보다 더 강하기 때문이라.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 이는 형제들아, 너희가 너희의 부르심을 보기 때문이라. 부르심을 받은 자들은 육체를 따라 지혜로운 사람들이 많지 아니하고, 막강한 자들도 많지 아니하며, 고귀한 자들도 많지 아니하니라.

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 그러나 하나님께서 지혜로운 자들을 당혹스럽게 하시려고 세상의 어리석은 것들을 선택하셨느니라. 또한 하나님께서 막강한 것들을 당혹스럽게 하시려고 세상의 약한 것들을 선택하셨느니라.

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 그리고 진정 하나님께서 있는 것들을 쓸모없는 것들이 되게 하시려고 세상의 비천한 것들과 멸시받는 것들을 선택하셨느니라.

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 이는 아무 육체도 그분의 면전에서 자랑하지 못하게 하려 하심이라.

29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 그러나 너희는 그리스도 예수 안에서 그분께로부터 났으니, 그리스도께서는 하나님께로부터 나셔서 우리에게 지혜와 의와 성결과 구속이 되셨느니라.

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 기록된 바와 같으니, “자랑하는 자, 그는 주를 자랑할지니라.” 하였도다.

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
