예레미야서 22장

1 주가 이같이 말하노라. 유다 왕의 집으로 내려가서 거기에 이 말을 전하고

1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

2 이같이 말하라. 오, 다윗의 보좌 위에 앉아 있는 유다 왕아, 너와 너의 종들과, 이 대문들로 들어오는 너의 백성은 주의 말씀을 들으라.

2 And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:

3 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 공의와 의를 집행하고 압제자의 손에서 약탈당한 자를 구출하라. 그리고 타국인에게도, 아버지 없는 자에게도, 과부에게도 부당한 짓을 하지 말고 폭력을 쓰지 말라. 또한 이곳에서 무고한 피를 흘리지 말라.

3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

4 이는 만일 너희가 정녕 이런 것을 행한다면 그때 다윗의 보좌 위에 앉은 왕들이 병거들과 말들을 탄 채 이 집의 대문들로 그곳에 들어올 것이기 때문이니, 곧 그와 그의 종들과 그의 백성이 들어오리라.

4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

5 그러나 만일 너희가 이 말들을 듣지 않으려 한다면, 내가 나 자신을 두고 맹세하여 주가 말하노니, 이 집이 황무지가 되리라.

5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

6 이는 주가 유다 왕의 집에 이같이 말함이라. 너는 나에게 길르앗이요, 레바논의 머리라. 그럼에도 내가 반드시 너를 광야로 만들겠고, 거주자가 없는 도시들로 만들겠노라.

6 For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

7 그리고 내가 너를 대적하여 멸망시키는 자들을 예비하리니 모두 저마다 자기 무기들을 들리라. 그리하여 그들이 너의 빼어난 백향목들을 찍어 쓰러뜨리고 그것들을 불속에 던지리라.

7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

8 그리고 많은 민족들이 이 도성 곁을 지나가리니, 그들이 모두 저마다 자기 이웃에게 말하기를, “어찌 주께서 이 거대한 도성에 이와 같이 하셨는가?” 하리라.

8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?

9 그때 그들이 대답하기를, “이는 그들이 주 그들의 하나님의 언약을 저버리고 다른 신들을 경배하며 그것들을 섬긴 까닭이라.” 하리라.

9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.

10 ¶ 너희는 죽은 자를 위하여 울지 말고, 그를 불쌍히 여기지도 말라. 오히려 떠나가는 자를 위하여 심히 울라. 이는 그가 더 이상 되돌아오지 못할 것이요, 자기 조국을 보지도 못할 것이기 때문이라.

10 ¶ Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

11 유다 왕 요시야의 아들이자 그의 아버지 요시야를 대신하여 통치하다가 이곳에서 나간 샬룸과 관련하여 주가 이같이 말하노라. 그는 더 이상 여기로 되돌아오지 못하리라.

11 For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:

12 오히려 그들이 그를 포로로 끌고 간 그곳에서 그가 죽을 것이요, 더 이상 이 지역을 보지 못하리라.

12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.

13 ¶ 불의로 자기 집을 짓고 옳지 않게 자기 방실들을 짓는 자에게 화가 있기를 바라노라. 그는 품삯 없이 자기 이웃의 공력을 이용하고, 그가 일한 대가를 그에게 주지 아니하는 자로다.

13 ¶ Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;

14 그는 말하기를, “내가 나에게 넓은 집과 큰 방실들을 지어주겠노라.” 하면서 자신에게 창문들을 내는도다. 그리고 그것을 백향목으로 덮고 다홍색으로 칠하였도다.

14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

15 네가 너 자신을 백향목 안에 밀폐하였다고 해서 네가 통치하겠느냐? 너의 아버지는 먹고 마셨으며 공의와 정의를 행하였나니, 그때 그가 잘되지 아니하였느냐?

15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?

16 그가 가난한 자와 궁핍한 자의 송사를 재판하였으니, 그때 그가 잘되었도다. 이것이 나를 아는 것이 아니었느냐? 주가 말하노라.

16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the LORD.

17 그러나 너의 두 눈과 너의 마음은 그것을 행하려고 하지는 아니하고, 오직 너의 탐욕과 무고한 피를 흘리는 것과 압제와 폭력만을 위하는도다.

17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

18 그러므로 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야킴에 관하여 주가 이같이 말하노라. 그들이 그를 위하여 애통해하며 말하기를, “아, 나의 형제여!” 하거나 “아, 자매여!” 하지 아니하리라. 그들이 그를 위하여 애통해하며 말하기를, “아, 주여!” 또는 “아, 그의 영광이여!” 하지 아니하리라.

18 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

19 그가 질질 끌려가서 예루살렘의 대문들 너머로 내어던져져, 나귀의 매장법으로 매장되리라.

19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.

20 ¶ 레바논으로 올라가서 외치라. 그리고 바샨에서 너의 목소리를 높이고 통행로들에서 외치라. 이는 너의 애인들이 모두 멸망하기 때문이라.

20 ¶ Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.

21 너의 번영기에 내가 너에게 말하였노라. 그러나 너는 말하기를, “내가 듣지 아니하겠노라.” 하였도다. 이것은 너의 어린 시절부터 네가 가진 습성이었으니, 곧 네가 나의 음성에 순종하지 아니하는 것이라.

21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.

22 바람이 너의 목양자들을 다 먹어 치울 것이요, 너의 애인들은 포로로 끌려가리라. 그때 너는 반드시 너의 모든 사악함으로 인하여 부끄러워하고 당혹스러워하리라.

22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

23 오, 백향목 안에 너의 둥지를 튼 레바논 거주자야, 격통들, 곧 산고를 치르는 여자의 것과 같은 그 통증이 너의 위에 임할 때 네가 얼마나 우아할 것인가!

23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!

24 주가 말하노라. 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 비록 유다 왕 여호야킴의 아들 코니야가 나의 오른손의 인장 반지였다 할지라도 그럼에도 내가 오른손에서 너를 빼겠노라.

24 As I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;

25 그리하여 너의 생명을 찾는 자들의 손안과 네가 두려워하는 얼굴을 가진 자들의 손안에, 곧 바빌론 왕 네부카드레자르의 손안과 칼데아인들의 손안에 내가 너를 내주겠노라.

25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26 그리하여 내가 너와 너를 낳은 너의 어머니를 다른 나라로 쫓아내리니, 곧 너희가 태어나지 아니한 곳이라. 그런즉 거기에서 너희가 죽으리라.

26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.

27 그러나 거기, 그들이 귀환하기를 열망하는 그 지역으로는 그들이 귀환하지 못하리라.

27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.

28 이 사람 코니야는 어느 멸시받고 부서진 우상이냐? 그는 그 안에 아무 기쁨이 없는 그릇이냐? 어찌 그들, 곧 그와 그의 씨가 쫓겨나서 그들이 모르는 지역으로 쫓겨나는 것이냐?

28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

29 오, 땅이여, 땅이여, 땅이여, 주의 말을 들으라.

29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

30 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 이 사람을 자식이 없는 자, 그의 날들에 번영하지 못할 한 사람이라 기록하라. 이는 그의 씨에서는 번영하여 다윗의 보좌 위에 앉아 유다를 다스릴 사람이 더 이상 아무도 없을 것이기 때문이라.

30 Thus saith the LORD, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
