예레미야서 50장

1 주께서 예언자 예레미야를 통하여 바빌론을 대적하고 칼데아인들의 지역을 대적하여 전하신 말씀이라.

1 The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 너희는 민족들 가운데서 선언하고 공표하며 하나의 깃발을 세우라. 공표하라. 그리하여 은닉하지 말라. 이같이 말하라. “바빌론이 점령당하였고 벨이 당혹스러워하며 므로닥이 산산조각 났도다. 그녀의 우상들이 당혹스러워하고 그녀의 형상들은 산산조각 났도다.”

2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 이는 한 민족이 그녀를 대적하여 북쪽에서 올라오기 때문이니, 그 민족은 그녀의 지역을 황량하게 만들 것이요, 그 안에 아무도 거하지 아니하리라. 사람이고 짐승이고 할 것 없이 그들이 이동할 것이요, 그들이 떠나가리라.

3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 ¶ 그날들과 그 시간에는 이스라엘 자녀들이 올 것이니, 그들과 유다 자녀들이 동행하며 울면서 오리라. 주가 말하노라. 그들은 가고 주 그들의 하나님을 찾으리라.

4 ¶ In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

5 그들이 자신들의 얼굴을 시온 쪽으로 향하고 시온으로 가는 길을 물으며 말하기를, “오라, 그리하여 잊히지 아니할 영속적인 언약 안에서 우리가 스스로 주께 연합하자.” 하리라.

5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 나의 백성은 잃어버린 양이었도다. 그들의 목자들이 그들로 하여금 길을 이탈하게 하였도다. 그 목자들은 산들 위에서 그들을 외면하였도다. 그들은 산에서 언덕까지 다녔으니, 그들은 자신들의 안식처를 잊어버렸도다.

6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

7 그들을 발견한 모든 자들은 그들을 집어삼켰도다. 그러면서 그들의 대적들은 “우리는 범죄하지 아니하였도다.”라고 말하였도다. 이는 그들이 정의의 거처이신 주를 대적하여 죄를 지었기 때문이니, 곧 그들의 조상들의 소망이신 주로다.

7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

8 바빌론의 한복판에서 이동하라. 그리하여 칼데아인들의 지역에서 나가 양 떼들의 앞으로 가는 숫염소들같이 되라.

8 Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

9 ¶ 보라, 이는 내가 바빌론을 대적하여 거대한 민족들의 집회를 일으켜서 북쪽 지방에서 올라오도록 할 것이기 때문이라. 그리하면 그녀를 대적하여 그들이 자신들의 대형을 갖출 것이요, 그녀가 거기서부터 점령되리라. 그들의 화살들은 어느 막강하고 숙련된 대장부의 것 같으리니, 아무도 헛되이 되돌아오지 못하리라.

9 ¶ For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

10 그리고 칼데아는 약탈물이 되리라. 그녀를 약탈하는 모든 자들은 만족하리라. 주가 말하노라.

10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.

11 오, 나의 상속지의 파괴자들인 너희여, 너희가 반가워한 까닭이요, 너희가 크게 기뻐한 까닭이요, 너희가 풀밭의 암송아지같이 살이 올랐고 수소들같이 우렁차게 우는 까닭이라.

11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 너희의 어머니가 심히 당혹스러워할 것이요, 너희를 낳은 여인이 부끄러워하리라. 보라, 민족들의 최후방은 광야와 메마른 토지와 사막이 되리라.

12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 주의 진노로 인하여 그곳은 거주하는 자가 없을 것이요, 오히려 그곳이 완전히 황량해지리라. 바빌론을 지나가는 모든 이마다 경악할 것이요, 그녀의 모든 재앙들에 쉭쉭대며 야유하리라.

13 Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 바빌론을 대적하여 그 주위에 너희 자신을 전투 대열로 배치하라. 활을 당기는 너희 모두여, 그녀에게 쏘라. 화살들을 아끼지 말라. 이는 그녀가 주를 대적하여 죄를 지었기 때문이라.

14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.

15 그녀를 대적하여 주위에서 함성을 지르라. 그녀가 자신의 손을 내주었도다. 그녀의 기초들은 쓰러졌고 그녀의 성벽들은 허물어졌도다. 이는 그것이 주의 복수이기 때문이라. 그녀에게 복수하라. 그녀가 행하여 왔던대로 그녀에게 행하라.

15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 씨 뿌리는 자와 수확기에 낫을 다루는 자를 바빌론에서 끊어 버리라. 압제하는 칼의 두려움으로 인하여 그들은 모두 저마다 자기 백성으로 돌이킬 것이요, 그들은 모두 저마다 자기 본토로 도망하리라.

16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 ¶ 이스라엘은 흩어진 양이로다. 사자들이 그를 내쫓아버렸도다. 먼저는 아시리아 왕이 그를 집어삼켰으며 나중에는 이 바빌론 왕 네부카드레자르가 그의 뼈들을 부러뜨렸도다.

17 ¶ Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 그러므로 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 바빌론 왕과 그의 지역에 형벌을 내리겠으니, 내가 아시리아 왕에게 형벌을 내린 것과 같도다.

18 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 그런 다음에 내가 이스라엘을 그의 거처로 다시 데려오겠노라. 그리하면 그가 칼멜과 바샨 위에서 풀을 뜯을 것이요, 그의 혼은 에프라임산과 길르앗 위에서 만족하리라.

19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 주가 말하노라. 그날들과 그 시간에는 이스라엘의 죄악이 조사될지라도 아무것도 없으리라. 그리고 유다의 죄들도 그러하여 그것들이 발견되지 아니하리라. 이는 내가 친히 따로 남겨 둔 자들을 면죄할 것이기 때문이라.

20 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 ¶ 므라다임의 지역을 대적하여 올라가라. 바로 그곳을 대적하고 프콧의 거주자들을 대적하라. 그들을 쫓아가서 황폐하게 하고 완전히 멸하라. 주가 말하노라. 그리하여 내가 너에게 명령한 모든 것대로 행하라.

21 ¶ Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 전투의 소리가 그 지역에 있으니, 엄청난 멸망의 소리가 있도다.

22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 어떻게 온 땅의 망치가 쪼개지고 부러졌는가! 어떻게 바빌론이 민족들 가운데서 황무지가 되었는가!

23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 오, 바빌론아, 내가 너를 노리고 올무를 놓았더니 네가 역시나 잡혔도다. 그런데도 너는 자각하지 못하였도다. 너는 발각되었고 또한 포획되었으니, 이는 네가 주를 대적하여 분투한 까닭이라.

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.

25 주가 자신의 무기고를 열었고 자신의 격분의 무기들을 꺼냈도다. 이는 이것이 칼데아인들의 지역에서 행하시는 만군의 주 하나님의 역사이기 때문이라.

25 The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 맨 끝 경계에서부터 그녀를 대적하여 오라. 그녀의 저장고들을 열라. 그녀를 무더기들같이 쌓아 올리라. 그리하여 그녀를 모조리 멸하라. 그녀에게 속한 것은 아무것도 남기지 말지어다.

26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 그녀의 모든 수송아지들을 도살하라. 그들은 도살로 내려갈지어다. 그들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라! 이는 그들의 날이 오기 때문이니, 곧 그들의 감찰의 때라.

27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 바빌론 지역에서 도망치고 탈출하는 자들의 음성이니, 주 우리 하나님의 복수를, 그분의 성전의 복수를 시온에서 선언하기 위함이라.

28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 바빌론을 대적하여 활 쏘는 자들을 한데 불러 모으라. 활을 당기는 너희 모두는 그곳을 대적하여 주위에 포진하라. 그곳에서 아무도 탈출하지 못하게 하라. 그녀에게 그녀의 행위에 따라 갚아 주라. 그녀가 행한 모든 것에 따라 그녀에게 행하라. 이는 그녀가 주를 대적하여, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이를 대적하여 교만하였기 때문이라.

29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 그러므로 그녀의 청년들은 거리들 안에서 쓰러질 것이요, 그녀의 모든 전사들은 그날에 끊어지리라. 주가 말하노라.

30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD.

31 오, 너, 지극히 교만한 자야, 보라, 내가 너를 대적하노라. 만군의 주 하나님이 말하노라. 이는 너의 날이 이르렀기 때문이니, 내가 너를 벌할 시간이라.

31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 그리고 지극히 교만한 자가 걸려 넘어지고 쓰러지리라. 그리고 아무도 그를 일으키지 못하리라. 그리고 나는 그의 도시들 안에 불을 붙이겠노라. 그리하면 그것이 그의 주위에서 모든 자를 집어삼키리라.

32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 ¶ 만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 이스라엘 자녀들과 유다 자녀들이 함께 압제를 당하였도다. 그리고 그들을 포로들로 사로잡은 모든 자들이 그들을 굳게 잡고 있도다. 저들은 그들을 놓아주기를 거부하였도다.

33 ¶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 그들의 구속주는 강하도다. 만군의 주가 그의 이름이로다. 그가 그들의 송사를 철저하게 변호하시리라. 이는 그가 그 지역에 안식을 주고 바빌론의 거주자들을 동요하게 하려 함이라.

34 Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 ¶ 칼이 칼데아인들 위에 있으니, 바빌론의 거주자들 위에, 그녀의 통치자들 위에, 그녀의 지혜로운 사람들 위에 있도다. 주가 말하노라.

35 ¶ A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 칼이 거짓말쟁이들 위에 있으니, 그들이 망령 들리라. 칼이 그녀의 막강한 남자들 위에 있으니, 그들이 좌절하리라.

36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 칼이 그들의 말들 위에, 그들의 병거들 위에, 그녀의 한가운데서 섞여 있는 모든 백성들 위에 있으니, 그들이 여자들같이 되리라. 칼이 그녀의 보물들 위에 있으니, 그것들이 강탈당하리라.

37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 가뭄이 그녀의 물들 위에 있으니, 그것들이 말라 버리리라. 이는 그곳이 조각된 형상들의 지역이요, 그들이 자신들의 우상들에 미쳤기 때문이라.

38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 그러므로 사막의 야생 짐승들이 섬들의 야생 짐승들과 더불어 거기에서 지낼 것이요, 올빼미들이 그 안에서 지내리라. 그리하여 그곳은 영원토록 더 이상 거주하는 자가 없으리라. 또한 그곳은 대대로 거하는 자가 없으리라.

39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 마치 하나님이 소돔과 고모라와 그곳의 이웃 도시들을 괴멸한 것과 같으니, 주가 말하노라. 이처럼 거기에서 지내는 사람이 아무도 없을 것이요, 사람의 아들은 아무도 그 안에서 지내지 아니하리라.

40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 보라, 한 백성이 북쪽으로부터 오리니, 크나큰 민족과 많은 왕들이 땅의 변방들로부터 일으켜지리라.

41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 그들은 활과 장창을 잡으리라. 그들은 잔인하니, 자비를 보이지 아니하리라. 그들의 음성이 바다처럼 포효하리라. 오, 바빌론의 딸아, 그리하여 그들이 말들을 탈 것이요, 너를 대적하여 전투로 향하는 남자처럼 모두 저마다 전열을 가다듬으리라.

42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 바빌론 왕이 그들에 관한 보고를 들었고, 그의 두 손이 나약해졌도다. 극심한 고통이 그를 붙들었으니, 산고를 치르는 여자와 같은 산통들이로다.

43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 보라, 그가 요르단의 범람하는 곳으로부터 강한 자의 거처로 사자처럼 올라오리라. 그러나 내가 그들을 그녀에게서 갑자기 멀리 달아나게 하겠노라. 그런즉 내가 그녀에게 정해줄 선택된 남자가 누구냐? 그런즉 누가 나와 같으냐? 또 누가 나에게 때를 정해주겠느냐? 또 내 앞에 설 그 목자는 누구냐?

44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 그러므로 그가 바빌론을 대적하여 세운 주의 계획을 너희는 들으라. 그리고 그가 칼데아인들의 지역을 대적하여 결단한 그의 목적들을 들으라. 양 떼의 가장 작은 양이 반드시 그들을 끌어낼 것이요, 그가 반드시 그들의 거처를 그들과 더불어 황량하게 만들리라.

45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 바빌론을 점령하는 떠들썩한 소리에 땅이 요동하나니, 그 부르짖음이 민족들 사이에서 들리는도다.

46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.
