학개 2장

1 일곱째 달, 그달 이십일 일에 주의 말씀이 예언자 학개를 통하여 임하였으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

1 In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,

2 “이제 셰알티엘의 아들이자 유다의 총독인 스룹바벨과, 요세덱의 아들이자 대제사장인 여호수아와, 백성 중 남아 있는 자들에게 이 같은 말로 전하라.

2 Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,

3 이 집을 그녀의 처음 영광 속에서 목격한 자들 중 너희 가운데 남겨진 자가 누구냐? 지금 너희는 그것을 어떻게 보느냐? 그것에 비하면 이 집은 너희 눈에 보잘것없지 아니하냐?

3 Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?

4 주가 말하노라. 오, 스룹바벨아, 그렇지만 이제 강건하라. 오, 요세덱의 아들인 대제사장 여호수아야, 강건하라. 주가 말하노니, 그 지역의 모든 백성인 너희여, 강건하라. 그리고 일하라. 이는 내가 너희와 함께하기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts:

5 너희가 이집트에서 나왔을 때 내가 너희와 언약하였던 그 말대로 나의 영이 너희 가운데 그와 같이 남아 있느니라. 너희는 두려워하지 말라.

5 According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.

6 이는 만군의 주가 이같이 말하기 때문이라. 잠시 후면 내가 다시 한 번 하늘들과 땅과 바다와 마른 육지를 뒤흔들겠노라.

6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

7 그리고 내가 모든 민족들을 뒤흔들겠으니, 모든 민족들의 열망이 임하리라. 그런 다음에 내가 이 집을 영광으로 채우겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

8 은도 내 것이요, 금도 내 것이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.

8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

9 이 나중 집의 영광이 이전 집의 영광보다 더 위대하리라. 만군의 주가 말하노라. 그리하여 내가 이곳 안에 화평을 주겠노라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.”

9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

10 ¶ 다리우스의 제이년 아홉째 달 이십사 일에 주의 말씀이 예언자 학개를 통하여 임하였으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

10 ¶ In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

11 “만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 이제 율법에 관하여 제사장들에게 물으며 이같이 말하라.

11 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

12 ‘만일 누군가 거룩한 고기를 자기 의복의 옷자락으로 나르는데 그의 옷자락에 빵이나 죽이나 포도즙이나 기름이나 다른 고기가 닿았다면 그것이 거룩하겠느냐?’” 그러자 제사장들이 대답하며 말하기를 “아니니이다.” 하였더라.

12 If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

13 그때 학개가 말하기를, “만일 어떤 시신으로 불결해진 자가 이것들 중 어느 것이라도 손을 대면 그것이 불결하겠느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 제사장들이 대답하여 말하기를, “그것은 불결하리이다.” 하였더라.

13 Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

14 그때 학개가 대답하여 이같이 말하였더라. “이 백성이 그러하며, 내 앞에 있는 이 민족이 그러하도다. 주가 말하노라. 그리고 그들의 손에서 나오는 모든 작업마다 그러하니, 그들이 거기에서 바치는 것도 불결하도다.

14 Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.

15 그런즉 이제 내가 너희에게 간구하노니, 이날부터 거슬러 올라가 숙고하되 주의 성전 안에 돌 하나 위에 돌 하나가 놓이기 전부터 거슬러 올라가 숙고하라.

15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD:

16 그날들이 있었던 이래로 누군가 이십 도량의 곡식 무더기로 왔을 때 십 도량뿐이었더라. 누군가 포도즙 틀에서 오십 그릇을 길으려고 포도즙 통으로 왔을 때 이십 그릇뿐이었더라.

16 Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty.

17 내가 너희 손의 모든 수고들 가운데서 마름병과 흰곰팡이와 우박으로 너희를 쳤도다. 그럼에도 너희는 나에게로 돌이키지 아니하였도다. 주가 말하노라.

17 I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the LORD.

18 이제 이날부터 거슬러 올라가 숙고하되 아홉째 달 이십사 일부터, 곧 주의 성전의 기초가 놓였던 날부터 거슬러 올라가 그것을 숙고하라.

18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it.

19 씨앗이 아직도 곳간 안에 있느냐? 진정 아직도 포도나무와 무화과나무와 석류나무와 올리브나무가 생산하지 못하였도다. 이날부터 내가 너희에게 복을 주겠노라.”

19 Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.

20 ¶ 이후에 그달 이십사 일에 주의 말씀이 다시 학개에게 임하였으니 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

20 ¶ And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,

21 “유다의 총독인 스룹바벨에게 이같이 일러 말하라. ‘내가 하늘들과 땅을 뒤흔들겠노라.

21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;

22 그리고 내가 왕국들의 보좌를 뒤집어엎겠고, 내가 이교도들의 왕국들의 힘을 멸망시키겠노라. 그리고 내가 병거들과 그것들을 탄 자들을 뒤집어엎겠노라. 그리하면 말들과 말들을 탄 자들이 주저앉으리니, 모두 저마다 자기 형제의 칼에 의하여 그리되리라.

22 And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

23 만군의 주가 말하노라. 오, 셰알티엘의 아들인 나의 종 스룹바벨아, 주가 말하노라. 그날에 내가 너를 취하겠으며, 너를 인장 반지로 삼겠노라. 이는 내가 너를 선택하였기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 말하노라.’”

23 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the LORD, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the LORD of hosts.
