디도서 2장

1 그러나 너는 건전한 교리에 알맞는 것들을 말하라.

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2 이는 나이 많은 남자들로 하여금 냉철하고, 진중하며, 절제하고, 믿음과 성도의 사랑과 인내 안에서 건전해지게 하려 함이라.

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

3 나이 많은 여자들도 이와 같이 하여 거룩함에 걸맞는 품행을 지니고, 거짓 고소자들이 되지 말며, 많은 술에 자신을 내주지 않고, 선한 것들의 선생들이 되게 하려 함이라.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 이는 그들이 젊은 여자들을 가르쳐 그들로 하여금 냉철하고 자신들의 남편들을 사랑하며 자신들의 자식들을 사랑하고

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 사려 깊고 순결하며 가정을 지키는 자들이 되고 선하며 그들 자신의 남편들에게 순종하게 하려 함이니, 하나님의 말씀이 모독받지 않게 하려 함이라.

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

6 젊은 남자들도 이와 같이 냉철한 생각을 갖도록 권면하라.

6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

7 모든 일들에서 너 스스로 선한 행위들에 모범을 보이되, 교리에 부패하지 않음을 보이고 진중함과 성실함과

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8 정죄받을 수 없는 건전한 언사로 모범을 보이라. 이는 너희에 관하여 악한 것을 말할 것이 전혀 없어서 반대편에 속한 자가 부끄러워하게 하려 함이라.

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

9 종들에게 권면하여 그들 자신의 주인들에게 순종하게 하며 모든 일들에서 그들을 매우 기쁘게 하고 말대답하지 말며

9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

10 절도질하지 말고 오직 온전히 훌륭한 충성을 보이라고 강권하라. 이는 그들로 하여금 모든 일들에서 우리 구원자이신 하나님의 교리를 빛나게 하려 함이라.

10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

11 이는 구원을 가져오시는 하나님의 은혜가 모든 사람들에게 나타나서

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 우리를 가르치시기를, 불경건과 세상적인 정욕들을 거부하고 우리로 하여금 냉철하며 의롭고 경건하게 이 현 세상을 살게 하셨으며,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 그 복된 소망과 위대하신 하나님, 곧 우리 구원자 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 고대하게 하셨느니라.

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 그분께서는 우리를 위하여 자신을 주셨으니, 그분께서 모든 죄악으로부터 우리를 구속하시고 선한 행위들에 열심인 독특한 백성으로 자신을 위해 정화시키려 하심이라.

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 이런 것들을 말하고 권면하며 모든 권위를 가지고 꾸짖으라. 아무도 너를 멸시하지 못하게 하라.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
