1 이제 나는 나의 사랑을 크게 받는 자에게 그의 포도원과 관련하여, 나의 사랑을 받는 자의 노래를 불러 주겠노라. 나의 사랑을 크게 받는 자는 열매를 많이 맺는 언덕 속에 포도원을 가졌도다.

1 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

2 그리고 그는 그곳에 담을 둘렀고, 그곳의 돌들을 주워 냈으며, 그곳을 빼어난 포도나무로 심었고, 그곳 한가운데에 망대를 세웠으며, 그 안에 포도즙틀도 만들었도다. 그런즉 그는 그곳이 포도들을 낼 것을 기대했는데 그곳은 야생 포도들을 내었도다.

2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

3 오, 예루살렘 거주자들아, 또 유다 사람들아, 그런즉 이제 내가 너희에게 청하노니, 나와 나의 포도원 사이에서 판단하라.

3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

4 나의 포도원에 대해 무엇이 더 행해질 수 있었으며, 내가 그 안에서 행하지 아니한 것이 무엇이냐? 내가 그것이 포도들을 낼 것을 기대했을 때 어찌 그곳이 야생 포도들을 내었느냐?

4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

5 그런즉 이제 오라. 내가 나의 포도원에 무엇을 할지 친히 너희에게 알리겠노라. 내가 그곳의 울타리를 제거하겠노라. 그리하면 그것은 완전히 먹히리라. 또 그곳의 담장을 헐어 버리겠노라. 그리하면 그것은 짓밟히리라.

5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

6 또 나는 그것을 불모지로 두겠노라. 그것은 가지가 솎아지는 일도, 땅이 일구어지는 일도 없으리라. 오히려 찔레들과 가시나무들이 올라오리라. 또한 나는 구름들에게 명령하여 그것들이 그 위에 비를 내리지 못하게 하리라.

6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

7 이는 만군의 주의 포도원은 이스라엘 집이요, 유다 사람들은 그가 기뻐하는 초목이기 때문이라. 그런즉 그가 공의를 기대하였으나 오히려 압제를 보는도다. 의를 기대하였으나 오히려 부르짖음을 보는도다.

7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

8 ¶ 틈이 없어질 때까지 집에 집을 잇고 밭에 밭을 놓아 자신들이 땅의 중심에 홀로 자리하게 되려고 하는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

8 ¶ Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

9 만군의 주께서 나의 귀에 이같이 말씀하셨도다. “참으로 많은 집들이 황량해지리니, 심지어 거대하고 수려한 집들도 그러하여 거주자가 없으리라.

9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

10 진정 십 에이커¹의 포도원이 일 밧의 소출을, 일 호멜의 씨가 일 에파의 소출을 내리라.”

10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.

11 ¶ 아침에 일찍 일어나 독주를 따라가고 밤까지 지속하여 마침내 포도주가 그들을 불타오르게 하는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

11 ¶ Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

12 또한 그들의 명절들에는 하프와 비올과 작은북과 피리와 포도주가 있도다. 그러나 그들은 주의 일을 중요시하지 아니하며, 그분께서 두 손으로 시행하시는 일을 숙고하지도 아니하는도다.

12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

13 ¶ 그러므로 내 백성이 포로로 잡혀갔으니, 그들이 지식이 없는 까닭이라. 또 그들의 귀인들은 굶주렸고 그들의 무리는 목마름으로 메말라 버렸도다.

13 ¶ Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

14 그러므로 지옥이 그녀 자신을 확장시켰고, 한없이 그녀의 입을 벌렸도다. 그리고 그들의 영광과 그들의 무리와 그들의 화려한 행렬과 크게 기뻐하는 자가 지옥 속으로 내려가리라.

14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

15 그리하여 미천한 사람은 낮아질 것이요, 막강한 사람은 겸손해질 것이요, 자고한 자의 두 눈도 겸손해지리라.

15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:

16 그러나 만군의 주께서 공의로 크게 높여지실 것이요, 거룩한 하나님은 의로 거룩하게 구별되시리라.

16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

17 그때 어린양들이 그들의 습성에 따라 풀을 뜯을 것이요, 살진 것들의 불모지들을 타국인들이 먹으리라.

17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

18 헛된 것의 끈들로 죄악을 끌며, 마치 짐수레 밧줄로 끌듯 죄를 끄는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:

19 그들이 말하기를, “우리가 그것을 볼 수 있도록 그분께서 속도를 내시어 그분의 일을 서두르시게 하라. 또 우리가 그것을 알 수 있도록 이스라엘의 거룩하신 분의 계획이 가까이 와서 이르게 하라!” 하리라.

19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

20 ¶ 악을 선이라, 선을 악이라 부르는 자들이요, 빛 대신 어둠을, 어둠 대신 빛을 두는 자들이요, 단 것 대신 쓴 것을, 쓴 것 대신 단 것을 두는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

20 ¶ Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 그들 자신의 눈에 지혜롭다 하고, 그들 자신이 보기에 신중하다 하는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 포도주를 마시는 데 막강한 자들과 독주를 섞는 데 힘 있는 사람들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라!

22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

23 그들은 보상을 노리고 사악한 자들을 정당화하며, 의로운 자의 의를 그에게서 빼앗아가는 자들이라.

23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24 그러므로 불이 그루터기를 집어삼키고 불꽃이 쭉정이를 사르듯이, 그들의 뿌리가 썩어 문드러짐같이 될 것이요, 그들의 꽃망울이 티끌같이 날아가리라. 이는 그들이 만군의 주의 율법을 팽개쳤고, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이의 말씀을 멸시한 까닭이라.

24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

25 그러므로 주의 분노가 그의 백성을 대적하여 타올랐고, 그가 그들을 대적하여 자신의 손을 앞으로 뻗어 그들을 쳤으니, 언덕들이 떨었고 그들의 사체들이 거리들의 한복판에서 찢겼도다. 이 모든 것으로도 그의 분노가 돌이켜지지 아니하였고 오히려 그의 손이 계속 뻗어 있도다.

25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

26 ¶ 그리고 그가 먼 곳으로부터 민족들에게 기치를 들어 올릴 것이요, 땅의 끝에서부터 그들에게 쉭쉭 소리를 내리니, 보라, 그들이 빠르게 속도를 내며 오리라.

26 ¶ And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:

27 그들 가운데는 지친 자가 아무도 없으며, 걸려 넘어지는 자도 없도다. 조는 자가 아무도 없으며, 자는 자도 없도다. 그들의 허리띠도 풀어지지 아니하며, 그들의 신발 끈도 끊어지지 아니하리라.

27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

28 그들의 화살들은 예리하고, 그들의 모든 활들은 당겨졌으니, 그들의 말발굽들은 부싯돌처럼, 그들의 바퀴들은 회오리바람처럼 여겨지리라.

28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:

29 그들의 포효함은 사자와 같으리니, 그들이 젊은 사자들처럼 포효하리라. 진정 그들이 포효하고 먹이를 붙잡아서 그것을 안전히 가져가도, 그것을 구출할 자가 아무도 없으리라.

29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.

30 그리고 그날에는 그들이 바다가 포효하는 것같이 그들을 대적하여 포효하리라. 또 만일 누군가 그 지역을 바라보면, 어둠과 슬픔을 보며, 빛이 그곳의 하늘들에서 어두워지는도다.

30 And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.
