아모스 6장

1 시온에서 안락하게 지내면서 사마리아산을 신뢰하는 자들이요, 민족들의 우두머리라는 이름으로 불리는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노라! 그들에게 이스라엘 집이 이르렀도다.

1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

2 너희는 칼네로 넘어가서 보라. 그리고 거기서부터 너희는 거대한 곳 하맛으로 가라. 그 뒤에 필리스티아인들의 가드로 내려가라. 그것들이 이 왕국들보다 나으냐? 아니면 그들의 경계가 너희의 경계보다 더 거대하냐?

2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?

3 해악의 날을 멀리 떨어진 데 두고 폭력의 자리를 가까이 오게 하는 너희로다.

3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

4 상아 침상들 위에 누워서 그들의 침대들 위에서 기지개를 펴고 양 떼에서 어린양들을 꺼내 먹고 외양간 한가운데서 송아지들을 꺼내 먹는 너희로다.

4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

5 비올 소리에 노랫가락을 흥얼거리고 다윗처럼 음악하는 악기들을 스스로 고안하는 너희로다.

5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;

6 대접들로 포도주를 마시고 자신들의 몸에 최상급 향유들로 기름 붓는 너희로다. 그러나 그들이 요셉의 고난을 비통해하지 아니하는도다.

6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

7 ¶ 그러므로 이제 그들은 포로로 잡혀가는 첫 무리와 함께 포로로 잡혀가리니, 스스로 기지개를 켰던 자들의 연회도 폐하여지리라.

7 ¶ Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.

8 주 하나님이 자신을 두고 맹세하였으니, 만군의 하나님인 주가 이같이 말하노라. 내가 야곱의 탁월함을 혐오하고 그의 궁전들을 증오하는도다. 그러므로 내가 그 도시를 그 안에 있는 모든 것들과 더불어 넘겨 버리겠노라.

8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.

9 그리고 이러한 일이 있으리니, 만일 열 명의 남자들이 한 집 안에 남는다 하여도 그들은 죽으리라.

9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.

10 그리고 어떤 사람의 삼촌이 그를 취하여 모을 것이요, 그를 태운 자가 그 뼈들을 집에서 가지고 나가면서 그 집의 변두리들에 있는 자에게 말하기를, “누가 아직 너와 함께 있느냐?” 하면 그가 말하기를, “없도다.” 하리라. 그때 그가 말하기를, “너의 혀를 제지하라. 이는 우리가 주의 이름을 언급하지 아니하기 위함이라.” 하리라.

10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

11 이는 보라, 주가 명령하나니, 그가 커다란 집을 쳐서 균열들을 일으키고 작은 집을 쳐서 갈라진 틈들을 일으키기 때문이라.

11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.

12 ¶ 바위 위에서 말들이 달리겠느냐? 거기서 누군가가 소들로 밭을 갈겠느냐? 이는 너희가 공의를 쓸개즙으로 바꾸고 의의 열매를 독초로 바꾸었기 때문이라.

12 ¶ Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:

13 아무것도 아닌 것을 크게 기뻐하며 말하기를, “우리가 우리 자신의 힘으로 우리에게 뿔들을 가져오지 아니하였느냐?” 하는 너희로다.

13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

14 그러나 오, 이스라엘 집아, 주 만군의 하나님이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 너희를 대적하여 한 민족을 일으키겠노라. 그리하여 그들이 헤맛으로 들어가는 진입로에서부터 광야의 강까지 너희를 괴롭히리라.

14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
