여호수아기 23장

1 이후에 주께서 그들 주위의 모든 원수들로부터 이스라엘에게 안식을 주신 뒤 오랜 시간이 흘러 이러한 일이 있었으니, 여호수아가 늙었고 세월이 흘러 연로해졌더라.

1 And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.

2 그러자 여호수아가 온 이스라엘과 그들의 장로들과 그들의 수장들과 그들의 판관들과 그들의 관원들을 불러 그들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “나는 늙었고 세월이 흘러 연로해졌노라.

2 And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:

3 그리고 주 너희 하나님께서 너희로 인하여 이 모든 민족들에게 행하신 모든 것을 너희가 목격하였도다. 이는 주 너희 하나님께서는 너희를 위하여 싸워 오신 분이시기 때문이라.

3 And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you.

4 보라, 내가 이 남아 있는 민족들을 제비로 너희에게 분배하여 너희 지파들을 위한 유산이 되게 하였으니, 내가 끊어 버린 모든 민족들과 더불어 요르단부터 서쪽으로 대해에 이르기까지라.

4 Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.

5 그런즉 주 너희 하나님, 그분께서 너희 앞에서 그들을 추방하시고 그들을 너희의 목전에서 내쫓으시리라. 그리하여 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 약속하신 대로 너희가 그들의 영토를 차지하리라.

5 And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you.

6 그러므로 너희는 아주 담대하게 모세의 율법 책 안에 기록된 모든 것을 지키고 실행하라. 이는 너희가 거기에서 오른편으로나 왼편으로 벗어나지 않게 하려 함이요,

6 Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

7 너희가 너희 사이에 남아 있는 이 민족들 가운데로 들어오지 않게 하려 함이요, 그들의 신들의 이름을 언급하지도, 그들로 맹세하지도 않게 하려 함이요, 그들을 섬기지도, 그들에게 너희의 몸을 숙여 절하지도 않게 하려 함이라.

7 That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:

8 너희가 이날까지 행한 대로 오직 주 너희 하나님께 밀착하라.

8 But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.

9 이는 주께서 창대하고 강한 민족들을 너희 앞에서 내쫓으셨기 때문이라. 그러나 너희로 말하자면 이날까지 아무도 너희 앞에 설 수 없었느니라.

9 For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.

10 너희 중 한 명의 남자가 천 명을 뒤쫓으리라. 이는 주 너희 하나님께서는 그분께서 너희에게 약속하신 대로, 너희를 위하여 싸우시는 분이기 때문이라.

10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

11 그러므로 너희는 스스로 주의하여 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하라.

11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.

12 그렇지 않고 만일 너희가 어떻게든지 뒤로 돌아가서 이 민족들의 남은 자들, 곧 너희 가운데 남아 있는 이들에게 밀착하여 그들과 혼인들을 맺고 그들에게 들어가며 그들이 너희에게 들어온다면

12 Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:

13 확실히 알지니, 주 너희 하나님께서 더 이상 이 민족들 중 누구도 너희 앞에서 내쫓지 아니하실 것이라. 오히려 그들은 너희에게 올무들과 함정들이 될 것이요, 너희의 옆구리에 채찍질들이 될 것이요, 너희의 눈에 가시들이 되리니, 너희가 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 주신 이 좋은 지역에서 끊어져 멸망할 때까지 그러하리라.

13 Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

14 그리고 보라, 이날 나는 온 땅의 길로 가는도다. 그런즉 너희는 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에 관하여 이야기하신 모든 선한 것들 중에 한 가지도 실패하지 아니하였음을 너희의 온 마음과 너희의 온 혼으로 아느니라. 모든 것이 너희에게 이루어졌으니, 그중에 한 가지도 실패하지 아니하였도다.

14 And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.

15 그러므로 이러한 일이 있으리니, 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 약속하신 모든 선한 것들이 너희 위에 임한 것같이, 주께서 그처럼 모든 악한 것들도 너희 위에 가져오사 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 주신 이 좋은 지역에서 친히 너희를 끊어 멸하실 때까지 그리하시리라.

15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

16 너희가 그분께서 너희에게 명령하신 주 너희 하나님의 언약을 위반하고 다른 신들에게 가서 섬기며 그들에게 너희 몸을 숙여 절하는 그때 주의 분노가 너희를 대적하여 타오르리니, 그분께서 너희에게 주신 그 좋은 지역에서 너희가 속히 끊어져 멸망하리라.”

16 When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
