요한복음 19장

1 그러므로 그때 빌라도가 예수님을 잡아다가 그분을 채찍질하였더라.

1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

2 그리고 군인들은 가시나무들로 왕관 하나를 엮어서 그것을 그분의 머리 위에 씌웠고, 그들은 그분께 자주색 관복을 입히며

2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

3 말하기를, “유대인들의 왕, 만세!” 하였고 그들이 자신들의 손으로 그분을 쳤더라.

3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

4 그러므로 빌라도가 다시 밖으로 나갔고 그들에게 말하기를, “보라, 내가 너희에게 그를 앞으로 데리고 오나니, 내가 그에게서 아무런 잘못도 발견하지 못함을 너희로 하여금 알게 하려 함이라.” 하니라.

4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

5 그때 예수님께서 가시나무들로 된 왕관과 자주색 관복을 입은 채 밖으로 나오셨더라. 그러자 빌라도가 그들에게 말하기를, “이 사람을 보라!” 하니라.

5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

6 그러므로 수석 제사장들과 관원들이 그분을 보자 그들이 소리지르며 말하기를, “그를 십자가에 못 박으소서, 그를 십자가에 못 박으소서.” 하였더라. 빌라도가 그들에게 말하기를, “너희가 그를 데려가서 그를 십자가에 못 박으라. 이는 내가 그에게서 아무런 잘못도 발견하지 못하기 때문이라.” 하니라.

6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

7 유대인들이 그에게 대답하기를, “우리에게 한 법이 있으니, 우리의 법에 의하면 그는 마땅히 죽어야 하나이다. 이는 그가 자신을 하나님의 아들로 나타냈기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.

7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

8 ¶ 그러므로 그렇게 말하는 것을 빌라도가 듣자 그는 더욱 무서워하였더라.

8 ¶ When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

9 그리하여 다시금 재판정 안으로 갔으며 예수님께 말하기를, “네가 어디에서 왔느냐?” 하니라. 그러나 예수님께서 그에게 전혀 답을 주지 아니하셨더라.

9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

10 그때 빌라도가 그분께 말하기를, “네가 나에게 고하지 않느냐? 내가 너를 십자가에 못 박을 권세도 있고 너를 석방시킬 권세도 있음을 네가 모르느냐?” 하니라.

10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

11 예수님께서 대답하시기를, “그것이 위에서부터 너에게 주어지지 아니하였더라면 너는 나를 대적할 어떤 권세도 가질 수 없었으리라. 그러므로 나를 너에게 넘겨준 자에게는 더 크나큰 죄가 있도다.” 하셨느니라.

11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

12 그러자 그때부터 빌라도가 그분을 석방시키려고 하였더라. 그러나 유대인들이 소리지르며 말하기를, “만일 당신이 이 사람을 풀어주면 당신은 카이사르의 친구가 아니니이다. 누구든지 자신을 왕으로 삼는 자는 카이사르를 대적하여 말하나이다.” 하였더라.

12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

13 ¶ 그러므로 그렇게 말하는 것을 빌라도가 듣자 그가 예수님을 앞으로 데려왔더라. 그리고 포장된 길이라 불리나 히브리어로는 갑바다라 하는 곳인 심판석에 앉았더라.

13 ¶ When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

14 그리고 그때는 유월절에 속한 예비일이요, 제육시경이었더라. 이어서 그가 유대인들에게 말하기를, “너희의 왕을 보라!” 하니라.

14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

15 그러나 그들은 소리질렀더라. “그를 없애 버리소서, 그를 없애 버리소서, 그를 십자가에 못 박으소서.” 빌라도가 그들에게 말하기를, “내가 너희의 왕을 십자가에 못 박으랴?” 하니라. 수석 제사장들이 대답하기를, “카이사르 외에는 우리에게 어떤 왕도 없나이다.” 하였더라.

15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

16 그러므로 그때 그가 그들에게 그분을 십자가에 못 박히도록 넘겨주었더라. 그리하여 그들이 예수님을 데려다가 그분을 끌고 갔더라.

16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

17 그리고 그분께서 그분의 십자가를 짊어진 채 해골의 장소라 불리는 곳으로 나가셨는데, 히브리어로는 골고다라 불리는 곳이었더라.

17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

18 거기서 그들이 그분을 십자가에 못 박았고 다른 두 명도 그분 곁에 못 박았으니, 양편에 한 명씩 두었고 예수님께서는 한가운데에 계셨더라.

18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

19 ¶ 그리고 빌라도가 명목을 기록하여 그것을 십자가 위에 붙였으니, 그 글은 “유대인들의 왕 나사렛 예수”라고 하였더라.

19 ¶ And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

20 그때 이 명목을 유대인들 중 많은 이들이 읽었더라. 이는 예수님께서 못 박히신 장소가 도성에서 가까웠기 때문이라. 그리고 그것은 히브리어와 헬라어와 라틴어로 기록되었더라.

20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

21 그때 유대인들 가운데 수석 제사장들이 빌라도에게 이같이 말하였더라. “‘유대인들의 왕’이라고 쓰지 마시고, 오히려 ‘그가 말하기를, ‘나는 유대인들의 왕이라.’ 하였다.’라고 쓰소서.”

21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

22 빌라도가 대답하기를, “내가 쓴 것을 내가 썼노라.” 하였더라.

22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

23 ¶ 그때 군인들이 예수님을 십자가에 못 박았을 때 그들이 그분의 의복들을 취하여 군인마다 한 부분씩 네 개의 부분으로 만들었으며 그분의 웃옷도 취하였더라. 한데 그 웃옷은 이음매 없이 꼭대기부터 통으로 엮어진 것이었더라.

23 ¶ Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

24 그러므로 그들은 자기들끼리 말하기를, “우리가 그것을 찢지 말자. 다만 그것을 두고 그것이 누구의 것이 될지 제비들을 던지자.” 하였으니, “그들이 나의 의상을 갈라서 자기들끼리 나누었고 나의 겉옷을 두고 그들이 제비들을 던졌나이다.”라고 말하는 성경 기록이 성취되게 하려 함이라. 그러므로 군인들이 이런 짓들을 하였더라.

24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

25 ¶ 이때 예수님의 십자가 곁에 그분의 어머니와 그분의 어머니의 자매이자 클레오프하스의 아내인 마리아와 막달라인 마리아가 서 있었더라.

25 ¶ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

26 그러므로 예수님께서 자신의 어머니와 자신이 사랑한 그 제자가 곁에 서 있는 것을 보시자 그분께서 그분의 어머니에게 말씀하시기를, “여자여, 당신의 아들을 보라!” 하시니라.

26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

27 그때 그분께서 그 제자에게 말씀하시기를, “너의 어머니를 보라!” 하시니라. 그리하여 그 시각부터 그 제자가 그녀를 자기 자신의 가정으로 데려갔더라.

27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

28 ¶ 이런 일 후에 예수님께서 이제 모든 것들이 이루어졌음을 아시고 성경 기록이 성취되게 하려고 말씀하시기를, “내가 목마르다.” 하시니라.

28 ¶ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

29 이때 식초로 가득찬 그릇이 놓여 있었더라. 그리하여 그들이 해면을 식초에 충분히 적신 후에 그것을 우슬초에 달아서 그것을 그분의 입에 대었더라.

29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

30 그러므로 예수님께서 그 식초를 받으신 후에 친히 말씀하시기를, “다 이루어졌도다.” 하셨느니라. 그러고 나서 그분께서는 자신의 머리를 숙이고 숨을 거두셨더라.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

31 그러므로 유대인들은 그날이 예비일인 까닭에 그 시신들을 안식일에 십자가 위에 남아 있지 않게 하려고, (이는 안식일이 고귀한 날이었기 때문이라.) 빌라도에게 그들의 다리를 부러지게 하고 그 시신들을 치워지게 해 달라고 간청하였더라.

31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 그때 군인들이 와서 첫 번째 사람의 두 다리를 부러뜨렸으며, 그분과 함께 십자가에 못 박힌 다른 이의 두 다리도 부러뜨렸더라.

32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

33 그러나 그들이 예수님께 이르러 그분께서 이미 죽으신 것을 보자 그들은 그분의 두 다리를 부러뜨리지 아니하였더라.

33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

34 그러나 군인들 중 한 명이 창으로 그분의 옆구리를 찔렀더니 곧바로 거기에서 피와 물이 나왔더라.

34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

35 그리고 그것을 본 자가 확증하였으니 그의 확증은 진실하니라. 그리고 그는 자신이 진실을 말하는 것을 아나니, 너희로 하여금 믿게 하려 함이라.

35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

36 이는 이런 것들이 이루어졌기 때문이니, “그의 뼈가 하나도 부러지지 아니하리라.” 한 성경 기록이 성취되게 하려는 것이라.

36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

37 그리고 또 다른 성경 기록이 다시금 말씀하시기를, “그들은 자신들이 찌른 그를 바라보리라.” 하시니라.

37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

38 ¶ 그리고 이런 일이 있고 나서 예수님의 제자 중 한 명이지만 유대인들에 대한 두려움으로 인하여 비밀리에 따랐던 아리마대아 요셉이 빌라도에게 자신이 예수님의 시신을 가져갈 수 있도록 간청하였더라. 그러자 빌라도가 그에게 허락하였더라. 그러므로 그가 와서 예수님의 시신을 가져갔더라.

38 ¶ And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

39 그리고 밤에 처음 예수님께 왔던 니고데모도 나아와서 몰약과 알로에들의 혼합물을 약 일백 파운드⁸ 무게로 가져왔더라.

39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

40 그때 그들이 예수님의 시신을 취하여 그것을 향료들과 함께 아마천들로 감았으니, 유대인들이 장사하는 방식대로니라.

40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

41 이때 그분께서 못 박히신 장소에는 동산이 있었더라. 그리고 그 동산 안에는 아직 사람을 결코 뉘인 적이 없던 새 돌무덤 하나가 있었더라.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42 그러므로 그들이 유대인들의 예비일인 까닭에 예수님을 거기에 뉘였으니, 그 돌무덤이 가까워 멀지 아니하였기 때문이라.

42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
