마가복음 5장

1 그리하여 그들이 바다 반대편으로 건너가서 가다라인들의 지방에 도달하였더라.

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

2 그리고 그분께서 그 선박에서 나오셨을 때, 한 불결한 영을 지닌 남자가 묘지들에서 나와 즉시 그분을 만났더라.

2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

3 그는 묘지들 사이에 자신의 주거지가 있었고 그를 결박할 수 있는 사람은 아무도 없었으니, 사슬들로도 결박할 수 없었나니, 없었더라.

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 이는 그가 자주 족쇄들과 사슬들로 결박당하였으나 그에 의하여 사슬들이 갈가리 뽑혀 나갔으며 족쇄들이 산산이 부서졌기 때문이라. 또한 어떤 사람도 그를 길들일 수 없었더라.

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 그리고 그는 밤낮 산들 속에서나 묘지들 가운데 항상 소리치며 돌들로 자신을 베고 있었더라.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 그러나 그가 멀리 떨어진 데서 예수님을 보았을 때, 그가 달려와 그분께 경배하였고

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

7 큰 목소리로 외치며 말씀드리기를, “예수님, 지극히 높으신 하나님의 아들 당신이여, 제가 당신과 무슨 상관이 있나이까? 제가 하나님을 두고 당신께 탄원하오니, 당신께서는 저를 심히 고통스럽게 하지 마소서.” 하였더라.

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

8 이는 그분께서 그에게 말씀하시기를, “너 불결한 영아, 그 사람에게서 나오라.” 하셨기 때문이라.

8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9 그런즉 그분께서 그에게 물으시기를, “너의 이름이 무엇이냐?” 하셨으니, 그가 대답하며 말씀드리기를, “제 이름은 레기온²이니이다. 이는 우리가 많기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.

9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

10 그러고 나서 그가 그분께 몹시 간청하여 그분께서 자기들을 그 지방에서 내보내지 말아 달라고 하였더라.

10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

11 이때 거기에 수많은 돼지 떼가 산지에서 멀지 않은 곳에서 먹이를 먹고 있었더라.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12 그러자 모든 마귀들이 그분께 간청하며 말씀드리기를, “우리가 돼지들 안으로 들어갈 수 있도록 우리를 그것들 안으로 보내 주소서.” 하였더라.

12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

13 그러자 예수님께서 곧바로 그들에게 그리하도록 허락하셨더라. 그리하여 그 불결한 영들이 나가서 돼지들 안으로 들어갔고, 그 떼가 가파른 곳을 난폭하게 달려 내려가 바닷속으로 들어갔더라. (그것들은 약 이천 마리였더라.) 그러자 돼지 떼가 바닷속에서 질식하였더라.

13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

14 이에 그 돼지들을 먹이던 자들이 도망하여 그것을 그 도시와 그 지방에 알렸더라. 그리하여 그들이 방금 일어났던 일이 무엇이었는지 보려고 나갔더라.

14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

15 그리하여 그들이 예수님께 와서 마귀에게 점유되었던 자, 곧 군단을 지녔던 자가 앉아 있고, 옷도 입혀져 있으며, 제정신인 것을 보더라. 그러자 그들이 무서워하였더라.

15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 그러자 그것을 본 자들이 마귀에게 점유되었던 자에게 그 일이 어떻게 일어나게 되었는지 그들에게 알려주었으며, 돼지들에 관하여도 알려주었더라.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

17 이에 그들이 그분께 자신들의 연안 지역들에서 떠나달라고 간구하기 시작하였더라.

17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

18 그리하여 그분께서 선박 안으로 들어오셨을 때에 마귀에게 점유되었던 자인 그가 그분과 함께 있게 해달라고 그분께 간구하였더라.

18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

19 하지만 예수님께서는 그를 용납하지 아니하셨고 다만 그에게 말씀하시기를, “집에 있는 너의 친구들에게 가서 주께서 너를 위하여 얼마나 위대한 일들을 행하셨고, 너에게 얼마나 연민을 가지셨는지 그들에게 알리라.” 하시더라.

19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

20 그러자 그가 떠나 예수님께서 그를 위하여 얼마나 위대한 일들을 행하셨는지를 데카폴리스에서 공표하기 시작하였으니, 모든 사람들이 놀라워하였더라.

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

21 이후에 예수님께서 선박을 타고 다시금 반대편으로 넘어가셨을 때, 많은 백성이 그분께 모였고 그분께서는 바다에 가까이 계셨더라.

21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

22 그런데 보라, 회당의 치리자들 중 한 명인 야이로란 이름의 사람이 오더라. 그리고 그가 그분을 보았을 때 그는 그분의 두 발 앞에 엎드렸고,

22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

23 그분께 몹시 간청하며 말씀드리기를, “저의 어린 딸이 죽을 지경에 놓여 있나이다. 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 오셔서 그녀가 치유될 수 있도록 당신의 두 손으로 그녀에게 안수하여 주소서. 그리하면 그녀가 살리이다.” 하였더라.

23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

24 그러자 예수님께서 그와 함께 가셨더라. 그리고 많은 백성이 그분을 따랐으며 그분께 밀어닥쳤더라.

24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

25 그런데 어떤 한 여자가 십이 년간 피의 유출이 있었는데

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 많은 의사들에게서 많은 것들로 고통받아 왔으며 그녀가 가진 전부를 소비하였는데도 전혀 차도가 없었고 오히려 악화되어 갔더라.

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 그녀가 예수님에 관하여 들었을 때, 뒤에 있는 인파 속으로 들어와 그분의 의복을 만졌더라.

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 이는 그녀가 말하기를, “만일 내가 그분의 옷이라도 만지게 된다면 나는 온전해지리라.” 하였기 때문이라.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 그러자 즉각 그녀의 피가 나오던 원천이 말랐더라. 그리하여 그녀는 자신이 그 질환에서 치유되었음을 자신의 몸으로 느꼈더라.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 이에 즉시 예수님께서 자신에게서 그 효능이 나갔음을 스스로 아시고 인파 속에서 친히 돌아서시어 말씀하시기를, “누가 내 옷을 만졌느냐?” 하셨더라.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 그러자 그분의 제자들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “무리가 당신께로 밀어닥치는 것을 친히 보시면서 당신께서는 ‘누가 나를 만졌느냐?’라고 말씀하시나이까?” 하였더라.

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 이에 그분께서 이 일을 행한 그녀를 보시고자 주위를 둘러보셨더라.

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33 그러나 그 여자가 자신에게 이루어진 일을 알기에 두려워하고 떨며 그분 앞으로 나와서 엎드렸고 그분께 모든 사실을 알려드렸더라.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 그러자 그분께서 그녀에게 말씀하시기를, “딸아, 너의 믿음이 너를 온전하게 하였노라. 평안히 가라. 그리고 너의 질환으로부터 온전해지라.” 하셨더라.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

35 그분께서 아직 말씀하시는 동안 회당 치리자의 집에서 어떤 자가 와서 말하기를, “당신의 딸이 죽었나이다. 어찌하여 당신은 스승님을 더 번거롭게 하시나이까?” 하였더라.

35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

36 언급된 그 말을 예수님께서 들으시자마자 친히 그 회당 치리자에게 말씀하시기를, “무서워하지 말라. 오직 믿기만 하라.” 하시더라.

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

37 그런 다음에 그분께서는 베드로와 야고보와 야고보의 형제 요한을 제외하고는 아무도 그분을 따라오도록 용납하지 아니하셨더라.

37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

38 그리하여 그분께서 그 회당 치리자의 집에 이르시자 소란함과, 흐느껴 울며 격하게 통곡하는 자들을 보시니라.

38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

39 그러고 나서 그분께서 들어오셨을 때 친히 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “어찌하여 너희는 이 야단법석을 피우고 흐느껴 우느냐? 그 소녀는 죽은 것이 아니라 다만 자는 것이라.” 하시니라.

39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

40 그러자 그들은 그분을 경멸하며 비웃었더라. 그러나 그분께서 그들 모두를 내보내신 후에 자신이 그 소녀의 아버지와 어머니와 또 그분과 함께한 자들을 데리고 그 소녀가 누워 있는 곳으로 들어가시더라.

40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

41 그러고 나서 그분께서 그 소녀를 손으로 잡으시고 그녀에게 말씀하시기를, “탈리다 쿠미” 하셨으니, 그것은, “소녀야, 내가 너에게 말하노니, 일어나라.”라고 해석되느니라.

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

42 그러자 그 소녀가 즉각 일어나 걸었더라. 이는 그녀의 나이가 열두 살이었기 때문이라. 이에 그들이 크나큰 충격을 받아 깜짝 놀랐더라.

42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

43 그런 다음에 그분께서 그들에게 엄히 명하시어 아무도 그것을 모르게 하라고 하셨더라. 그리고 그녀에게 무언가 먹을 것이 주어져야 한다고 그들에게 명령하셨더라.

43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
