1 만일 어떤 사람이 소나 양을 도둑질한 다음에 그것을 죽이거나 그것을 판다면 그는 소 한 마리당 소 다섯 마리로, 양 한 마리당 양 네 마리로 되갚을지니라.
1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 ¶ 만일 어떤 도둑이 뚫고 들어온 것이 발각되어 그가 맞아서 죽는다면 그를 위하여 흘려지는 피가 없으리라.
2 ¶ If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3 만일 그 도둑 위에 해가 떠 있다면 그를 위하여 피가 흘려져야 하리라. 이는 그가 전액을 변상해야 하기 때문이라. 만일 그가 가진 것이 아무것도 없다면 그때는 그가 그의 절도로 인하여 팔려갈지니라.
3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 만일 그 절도품이 그의 손에서 명확히 산 채로 발견된다면 그것이 소든지 나귀든지 양이든지 간에 그는 두 배로 되갚을지니라.
4 If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5 ¶ 만일 어떤 사람이 밭이나 포도원을 식용으로 쓰이도록 하여 자기 짐승을 안에 넣어 놓고 다른 사람의 밭에서 먹인다면, 그는 자기 소유의 밭에서 나는 최상품과 자기 소유의 포도원에서 나는 최상품으로 그에게 변상할지니라.
5 ¶ If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 ¶ 만일 화재가 발생하여 가시나무들에 옮겨붙어서 곡식 낟가리들이나 베지 않은 곡식이나 밭이 그것으로 다 타 버린다면 그 불을 피운 자는 반드시 변상할지니라.
6 ¶ If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7 ¶ 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 이웃에게 돈이나 물품을 간수해 달라고 넘겼다가 그것이 그 사람의 집에서 도둑맞았는데 그 도둑이 발견된다면 그로 하여금 두 배를 지불하게 하라.
7 ¶ If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8 만일 그 도둑이 발견되지 않는다면 그때 그 집의 주인은 판관들에게 인도되어 그의 이웃의 소유물들에 그의 손을 대었는지 조사받을지니라.
8 If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.
9 이는 소에 관한 것이든지, 나귀에 관한 것이든지, 양에 관한 것이든지, 의상에 관한 것이든지, 또는 다른 이가 자기 것이라고 문제를 제기하는 어떤 부류의 분실물에 관한 것이든지 간에 모든 범주의 범법은 판관들 앞에서 양쪽 이해관계자들의 사유를 대야 하며, 판관들이 정죄하는 자, 곧 그가 그의 이웃에게 두 배를 지불해야 할 것이기 때문이라.
9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10 만일 어떤 사람이 나귀나 소나 양이나 어떤 짐승이라도 자기 이웃에게 간수해 달라고 넘겼다가 그것이 죽거나 다치거나 끌려갔는데 그것을 목격한 사람이 없다면,
10 If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:
11 그때 자신이 자기 이웃의 소유물들에 자기 손을 대지 않았다는 주의 맹세가 그들 양쪽 사이에 있게 할지니라. 그리하면 그것의 소유자는 그것의 맹세를 받아 줄지니, 그는 그것을 물어 주지 아니할 것이라.
11 Then shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12 그리고 만일 그것이 그에게서 도둑맞는다면 그는 그것의 소유자에게 변상할지니라.
12 And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13 만일 그것이 갈기갈기 찢겨진다면 그때 그로 하여금 그것을 증거로 가져오게 할지니, 그가 찢긴 것을 변상하지 아니할 것이라.
13 If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.
14 ¶ 그리고 만일 어떤 사람이 자기 이웃에게 무언가를 빌렸는데 그것의 소유자가 그것과 함께 있지 않은 상태에서 그것이 다치거나 죽는다면 그는 반드시 그것을 물어 줄지니라.
14 ¶ And if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
15 그러나 만일 그것의 소유자가 그것과 함께 있다면 그는 그것을 물어 주지 아니하리라. 만일 그것이 대여된 것이라면 그것은 그의 사용료로 대체되리라.
15 But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.
16 ¶ 그리고 만일 어떤 남자가 정혼하지 않은 여인을 유혹하여 그녀와 동침한다면 그는 반드시 그녀에게 지참금을 주고 그녀를 자신의 아내가 되게 할지니라.
16 ¶ And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17 만일 그녀의 아버지가 그녀를 그에게 주는 것을 완전히 거절한다면 그는 처녀들의 지참금에 따라 돈을 지불할지니라.
17 If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18 ¶ 너는 마녀를 살려 두지 말지니라.
18 ¶ Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19 ¶ 누구든지 짐승과 교접하는 자는 반드시 사형에 처해질지니라.
19 ¶ Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20 ¶ 주께 바치는 것만을 제외하고, 어떤 신에게라도 희생 제물을 바치는 자, 그는 엄정하게 멸망하리라.
20 ¶ He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21 ¶ 너는 타국인을 핍박하지 말며, 그를 압제하지도 말지니라. 이는 너희가 이집트 지역 가운데서 타국인들이었기 때문이라.
21 ¶ Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22 ¶ 너희는 어떤 과부나 아버지 없는 아이도 괴롭히지 말지니라.
22 ¶ Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 만일 네가 그들을 어떻게든 괴롭혀서 그들이 나에게 조금이라도 부르짖는다면 내가 반드시 그들의 부르짖음을 듣겠노라.
23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24 그리하면 나의 진노가 뜨거워질 것이요, 내가 너를 칼로 죽이겠노라. 그리하면 너희의 아내들은 과부들이 될 것이요, 너희의 자식들은 아버지 없는 자가 될 것이라.
24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25 ¶ 만일 네가 너의 곁에 있고 가난한, 나의 백성 중 누군가에게 돈을 빌려 준다면 너는 그에게 고리대금업자같이 되지 말며 너는 그에게 이자를 부과하지도 말지니라.
25 ¶ If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26 만일 네가 너의 이웃의 의상을 조금이라도 담보로 잡는다면 너는 해가 질 때까지는 그에게 그것을 전달할지니라.
26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27 이는 그것이 그가 유일하게 덮는 것이며 그것이 그의 피부를 덮는 그의 의상이기 때문이라. 그가 무엇을 덮고 자겠느냐? 그런즉 이러한 일이 있으리니, 그가 나에게 부르짖을 때 내가 듣겠노라. 이는 내가 은혜롭기 때문이라.
27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28 ¶ 너는 신들을 욕하지 말며, 너의 백성의 치리자들을 저주하지 말지니라.
28 ¶ Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29 ¶ 너는 너의 익은 열매들의 첫 결실과 너의 액즙들의 첫 결실을 바치는 것을 연기하지 말지니라. 너는 너의 아들들의 첫 태생을 나에게 줄지니라.
29 ¶ Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30 너는 너의 소들로도, 너의 양들로도 이와 같이 할지니라. 칠 일 동안 그것을 그의 어미 짐승과 함께 있게 하고 여덟째 날에 너는 그것을 나에게 줄지니라.
30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31 ¶ 그리고 너희는 나에게 거룩한 사람들이 되리니, 너희는 또한 들에서 짐승들에게 찢긴 것의 어떤 고기도 먹지 말지니라. 너희는 그것을 개들에게 던질지니라.
31 ¶ And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
