1 이와 더불어 예레미야가 아직 감옥 뜰에 갇혀 있었을 때 주의 말씀이 두 번째로 예레미야에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
2 “그곳을 만든 이인 주, 그곳을 형성하고 그곳을 확고히 세운 주가 이같이 말하노라. 주가 그의 이름이로다.
2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;
3 나를 부르라. 그리하면 내가 너에게 응답하고, 네가 모르는 위대하고 막강한 것들을 너에게 보이겠노라.
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
4 이는 토루들과 칼에 의하여 무너진, 이 도시의 집들과 유다 왕들의 집들에 관하여 이스라엘의 하나님인 주가 이같이 말하기 때문이라.
4 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
5 그들이 칼데아인들과 싸우러 오나, 그것은 내가 나의 분노와 나의 노여움으로 살해한 사람들의 시신들로 그들을 채우려는 것이니, 그들의 모든 사악함으로 인하여 내가 이 도시로부터 나의 얼굴을 숨겼노라.
5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
6 보라, 내가 그곳에 건강과 치료책을 가져오겠고, 내가 그들을 치료하겠으며, 그들에게 화평과 진리의 풍성함을 나타내 보이겠노라.
6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
7 그리고 내가 유다의 포로들과 이스라엘의 포로들을 귀환하게 하겠으니, 그들을 처음과 같이 세우겠노라.
7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
8 그리고 내가 그들의 모든 죄악으로부터 그들을 정결하게 하겠으니, 그 죄악은 그들이 나를 대적하여 죄를 지은 것이라. 그런데도 나는 그들의 모든 죄악들을 면죄하겠으니, 그 죄악들은 그들이 죄를 지은 것이요, 그 죄악들은 그들이 나를 대적하여 불법을 행한 것이라.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
9 ¶ 그리고 그곳은 땅의 모든 민족들 앞에서 나에게 즐거움과 찬송과 존귀의 이름이 될 것이요, 그곳은 내가 그들에게 베푸는 모든 선한 것을 들으리라. 그리하면 내가 그곳에 마련하는 모든 선함과 모든 번영으로 인하여 그들이 두려워하고 떨리라.
9 ¶ And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.
10 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희가 말하기를, ‘사람도 없고 짐승도 없이 황량해지리라.’ 하는 이 장소, 곧 사람도 없고 거주자도 없고 짐승도 없이 황량한 곳들인 유다의 도시들 안과 예루살렘의 거리들 가운데서 다시금 소리가 들려오리니,
10 Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
11 즐거움의 음성과, 반가움의 음성과, 신랑의 음성과, 신부의 음성과, ‘만군의 주를 찬송하라. 이는 주께서는 선하시며 그분의 자비가 영원토록 지속될 것이기 때문이라.’하고 말할 자들의 음성과, 주의 집 안으로 찬송의 희생 제물을 가져올 자들의 음성이라. 이는 내가 그 지역의 포로들을 처음과 같이 귀환시킬 것이기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라.
11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
12 만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 사람도 없고 짐승도 없이 황량한 이 장소 안과 그곳의 모든 도시들 안에 그들의 양 떼들을 드러눕게 하는 목자들의 거처가 다시 있으리라.
12 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
13 산들의 도시들과 골짜기의 도시들과 남쪽 도시들과 베냐민 지역과 예루살렘 주변 처소들과 유다의 도시들 안에서 양 떼들이 그것들을 헤아리는 자의 두 손 아래로 다시금 지나가리라. 주가 말하노라.
13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.
14 보라, 그날들이 오나니, 주가 말하노라. 곧, 내가 이스라엘 집과 유다의 집에 약속한 선한 것을 친히 수행하겠노라.
14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
15 ¶ 그날들, 그 시간에는 내가 다윗에게 의의 가지가 자라나게 하겠노라. 그리하면 그가 이 지역에서 공의와 의를 집행하리라.
15 ¶ In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
16 그날들에는 유다가 구원받을 것이요, 예루살렘이 안전하게 거하리라. 그리고 그녀가 불리게 될 이름이 이러하니, 곧 ‘주 우리의 의’로다.
16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.
17 ¶ 이는 주가 이같이 말하기 때문이라. 다윗에게서는 이스라엘 집의 보좌 위에 앉는 자가 결코 한 사람도 부족하지 아니하리라.
17 ¶ For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
18 또한 제사장들과 레위인들에게서는 내 앞에서 번제물들을 바치고, 음식 제물들에 불을 붙이며 희생제를 지속적으로 행하는 자가 한 사람도 부족하지 아니하리라.”
18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.
19 ¶ 그리고 주의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
19 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,
20 “주가 이같이 말하노라. 만일 너희가 나의 낮의 언약과, 나의 밤의 언약을 파기할 수 있어서 낮과 밤이 그것들의 시기에 있지 못하게 한다면,
20 Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
21 그때 나의 종 다윗과 맺은 나의 언약도 파기될 수 있어서 그의 보좌 위에서 통치할 한 아들이 그에게서 나오지 않을 것이요, 나의 사역자들이자 제사장들인 레위인들과 맺은 언약도 그러하리라.
21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
22 하늘의 군대가 계수될 수 없고, 바다의 모래가 측량될 수도 없듯이 나의 종 다윗의 씨와 나의 사역자들인 레위인들도 내가 그와 같이 번성하게 하겠노라.”
22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
23 이와 더불어 주의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,
24 “너는 이 백성이 말하기를, ‘주께서 선택하신 두 족속들, 그들마저 그분께서 버리셨도다.’ 하는 것을 숙고하지 아니하냐? 이와 같이 그들이 나의 백성을 멸시하였으니, 더 이상 그들이 그들 앞에서 민족이 되지 못하게 하려 함이라.
24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.
25 주가 이같이 말하노라. 만일 나의 언약이 낮과 밤과 함께하지 아니한다면, 혹 내가 하늘과 땅의 법령들을 정한 것이 아니라면
25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
26 그때는 내가 야곱의 씨와 나의 종 다윗을 내치겠으니, 그렇게 하여 내가 그의 씨 중에서는 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱의 씨 위에서 치리자들이 되도록 누구도 취하지 아니하리라. 이는 내가 그들의 포로들을 되돌아오게 하여 그들 위에 자비를 베풀 것이기 때문이라.”
26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
