1 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야킴의 날들에 주께로부터 예레미야에게 임한 말씀이니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2 “레캅족들의 집으로 가서 그들에게 말하여 그들을 주의 집 안으로 데려가서 방실들 중 한 곳으로 들어가게 하고 그들에게 포도주를 마시도록 주라.”
2 Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3 그때 내가 하바지니야의 자손이자 예레미야의 아들 야아자니야와 그의 형제들과 그의 모든 아들들과 레캅족들의 온 가문을 데려갔더라.
3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4 그리하여 내가 그들을 주의 집 안으로 데려가서 하나님의 사람 익달리야의 아들인 하난의 아들들의 방실로 들어가게 하였더라. 그 방실은 통치자들의 방실 옆에 있었고, 문을 지키는 자인 샬룸의 아들 마아세야의 방실 위에 있었더라.
4 And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
5 그리고 내가 레캅족들의 가문에 속한 자손들 앞에서 포도주가 가득 담긴 항아리들과 잔들을 놓았으며, 나는 그들에게 말하기를, “너희는 포도주를 마시라.” 하였더라.
5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
6 그러나 그들이 이같이 말하였더라. “우리는 포도주를 전혀 마시지 아니하겠나이다. 이는 우리의 조상 레캅의 아들 요나답이 우리에게 명령하며 말하기를, ‘너희는 포도주를 전혀 마시지 말지니, 너희도, 너희의 아들들도 영원토록 마시지 말지니라.
6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
7 또한 너희는 집을 건축하지도 말고, 씨도 뿌리지 말며, 포도원을 세우지도 말고, 어떤 것도 소유하지 말지니라. 오직 너희의 모든 날들 동안 너희는 천막들 안에 거할지니라. 이는 너희가 타국인들로 있는 그 지역에서 너희가 여러 날들 동안 살게 하려 함이라.’ 하였나이다.
7 Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
8 따라서 우리가 우리의 조상 레캅의 아들 요나답이 우리에게 명한 모든 일에 있어서 그의 음성에 순종하였나니, 우리와 우리의 아내들과 우리의 아들들과 우리의 딸들도 우리의 모든 날들 동안 포도주를 전혀 마시지 아니하였나이다.
8 Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
9 또한 우리를 위하여 그 안에 거할 집들도 건축하지 아니하였나이다. 우리는 포도원도, 밭도, 씨도 소유하지 아니하였나이다.
9 Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10 오직 우리는 천막들 안에 거하였고 우리의 조상 요나답이 우리에게 명령한 모든 것에 따라 순종하고 실행하였나이다.
10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11 그러나 바빌론 왕 네부카드레자르가 이 지역 안으로 올라왔을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 즉 우리가 말하기를, ‘오라, 칼데아인들의 군사의 두려움으로 인하여, 또 시리아인들의 군사의 두려움으로 인하여 우리가 예루살렘으로 가자.’ 하였기에 이처럼 우리는 예루살렘에 거하나이다.”
11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
12 ¶ 그때 주의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하였나니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
12 ¶ Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
13 “만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 가서 유다 사람들과 예루살렘 거주자들에게 알리라. ‘너희가 나의 말들에 경청하기 위해 교훈을 받아들이지 아니하겠느냐? 주가 말하노라.
13 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
14 레캅의 아들 요나답의 말들, 곧 그가 자기 아들들에게 포도주를 마시지 말라고 명령한 그 말들이 수행되었도다. 이는 오늘날까지 그들이 전혀 마시지 않고 다만 자신들의 조상의 명령에 순종하기 때문이라. 그럼에도 불구하고 내가 너희에게 말하되 일찍 일어나 말하였도다. 그러나 너희는 나에게 경청하지 아니하였느니라.
14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
15 또한 내가 나의 종들인 모든 예언자들을 너희에게 보냈으니, 일찍 일어나서 그들을 보내면서 말하기를, ‘이제 너희는 모두 저마다 자신의 악한 길에서 떠나 되돌아오라. 그리고 너희의 행동거지들을 개선하라. 다른 신들을 섬기려고 그들을 따라가지 말라. 그리하면 내가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 준 지역에 너희가 거하리라.’ 하였는데 너희는 너희의 귀를 기울이지 아니하였으며 나에게 경청하지도 아니하였노라.
15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
16 이는 레캅의 아들 요나답의 아들들은 그들의 조상이 그들에게 명령한 그의 명령을 수행하였기 때문이라. 그러나 이 백성은 나에게 경청하지 아니하였도다.
16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
17 그러므로 만군의 주 하나님 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 유다 위에, 또 예루살렘의 모든 거주자들 위에 내가 그들을 대적하여 천명한 모든 해악을 가져오겠노라. 이는 내가 그들에게 계속 이야기해 왔으나 그들이 듣지 아니하였기 때문이라. 또 내가 그들을 불렀으나 그들이 대답하지 아니하였도다.’”
17 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
18 ¶ 그리하여 예레미야가 레캅족들의 집에 이같이 말하였더라. “만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 이는 너희가 너희의 조상 요나답의 명령에 순종하여 그의 모든 규범들을 지키고 그가 너희에게 명령한 모든 것대로 행한 까닭이라.
18 ¶ And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
19 그러므로 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 레캅의 아들 요나답에게서는 내 앞에 설 자가 영원토록 한 사람도 부족하지 아니하리라.”
19 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
