마태복음 12장

1 그때 예수님께서 안식일에 곡식들 사이를 지나가셨는데 그분의 제자들이 배고팠기에 곡식의 이삭들을 따서 먹기 시작하였더라.

1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

2 그러나 바리새파 사람들이 그것을 보자 그들이 그분께 말씀드리기를, “보소서, 당신의 제자들이 안식일에 하면 합법적이지 않은 일을 하나이다.” 하였더라.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

3 그러나 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “다윗과 그와 함께한 자들이 배고팠을 때 그가 무엇을 했는지 너희는 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

4 곧 그가 어떻게 하나님의 집 안으로 들어갔으며, 다윗에게도 그와 함께했던 자들에게도 먹는 것이 합법적이지 않고 오직 제사장들에게만 합법적인 진열하는 빵을 먹었는지 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

5 아니면 안식일들에 성전 안에 있는 제사장들은 안식일을 범하여도 비난받지 않는다는 것을 너희는 율법 안에서 읽어 본 적이 없느냐?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

6 그러나 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘성전보다 위대한 이가 이곳에 있느니라.’

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

7 그러나 만일 ‘내가 자비를 원하고 희생 제물을 원하지 아니하리라.’ 하신 이 말씀이 무엇을 의미하는지 너희가 알았더라면 너희는 죄과가 없는 자를 정죄하지 아니하였으리라.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

8 이는 인자가 바로 안식일의 주이기 때문이라.”

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

9 그런 다음에 그분께서 거기를 떠나셨을 때, 그분께서는 그들의 회당에 들어가셨더라.

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

10 ¶ 그런데 보라, 거기에는 자신의 손이 오그라든 남자가 있었더라. 그러자 그들이 그분께 여쭈며 말씀드리기를, “안식일들에 치유하는 것이 합법적이니이까?” 하였으니, 그들이 그분을 고소하려 함이더라.

10 ¶ And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

11 그러자 그분께서 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너희 가운데 양을 가지고 있는 어떤 사람이 있는데, 만일 그것이 안식일에 어떤 구렁으로 빠졌다면 그가 그것을 붙잡아서 그것을 밖으로 꺼내지 않겠느냐?

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

12 그런즉 양보다 사람이 얼마나 더 귀하냐? 이러한 이유로 안식일들에 선하게 행하는 것은 합법적이니라.”

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

13 그때 그분께서 그 사람에게 말씀하시기를, “너의 손을 앞으로 뻗으라.” 하시니라. 그러자 그가 그것을 앞으로 뻗었더라. 이에 그것이 반대쪽처럼 온전하게 회복되었더라.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

14 ¶ 그때 바리새파 사람들이 나가서 어떻게 그들이 그분을 멸할지 그분을 대적하여 공회를 열었더라.

14 ¶ Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

15 그러나 예수님께서 그것을 아셨을 때 그분께서는 거기서 스스로 물러나셨더라. 그런 다음에 수많은 무리들이 그분을 따랐으니 그분께서 그들을 모두 치유하셨더라.

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

16 그러면서 그들에게 명하시기를, 그들이 그분을 알려지게 해서는 안 된다고 하셨더라.

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

17 이는 예언자 이사-야에 의하여 언급된 것이 성취되게 하려 하심이라. 말씀하시기를,

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

18 “내가 선택한 나의 종을 보라. 나의 사랑을 받는 자니, 내 혼이 그의 안에서 매우 기뻐하노라. 내가 그 위에 나의 영을 두겠노라. 그리하면 그가 이방인들에게 공의를 보여주리라.

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

19 그는 분쟁하지도 고함을 치지도 아니하리니 어떤 사람도 그의 목소리를 거리들에서 들을 수 없으리라.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

20 그가 공의를 내보내어 승리에 이르기까지, 그는 상한 갈대도 꺾지 아니할 것이요, 그는 연기 나는 심지를 끄지 아니하리라.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

21 그리하여 이방인들이 그의 이름을 신뢰하리라.” 하신 것이라.

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

22 ¶ 그때 한 마귀에게 점유되어 눈멀고 말하지 못하는 누군가가 그분께 인도되었더라. 그러자 그분께서 그를 치유하셨으니, 눈멀고 말 못 하는 자가 말도 하고 볼 수도 있을 정도까지 되었더라.

22 ¶ Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

23 그러자 모든 이들이 놀랐으며 말하기를, “이분이 다윗의 자손이 아니시냐?” 하였더라.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 그러나 바리새파 사람들이 그것을 들었을 때, 그들이 말하기를, “이 사내가 마귀들의 통치자인 베엘제붑에 의하지 않고서는 마귀들을 쫓아내지 아니하느니라.” 하였더라.

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 그러자 예수님께서는 그들의 생각들을 아셨기에 그들에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “스스로를 대적하여 분열하는 모든 왕국마다 황량함에 처해지느니라. 또 스스로를 대적하여 분열하는 모든 도시나 집마다 서지 못하리라.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 그런즉 만일 사탄이 사탄을 쫓아낸다면 그가 스스로를 대적하여 분열하는 것이니라. 그렇다면 어떻게 그의 왕국이 서겠느냐?

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 그리고 만일 내가 베엘제붑에 의하여 마귀들을 쫓아낸다면 너희 자녀들은 누구에 의하여 그들을 쫓아내느냐? 그러므로 그들이 너희의 판관들이 되리라.

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 그러나 만일 내가 하나님의 영에 의하여 마귀들을 쫓아낸다면 그때 하나님의 왕국이 너희에게 임하느니라.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 그런데 이와 달리 누군가 강한 남자를 먼저 결박하지 않고서 어떻게 그가 그 강한 남자의 집 안으로 침입하여 그의 소유물들을 약탈할 수 있겠느냐? 그런즉 그때야 비로소 그가 그의 집을 약탈하리라.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 나와 함께하지 아니하는 자는 나를 대적하는 자요, 나와 함께 모으지 아니하는 자는 뿔뿔이 흩어 버리는 자니라.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

31 ¶ 이러한 이유로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘사람들에게 있어서 온갖 부류의 죄와 신성 모독은 용서되리라. 그러나 사람들에게 있어서 성령을 대적하는 신성 모독은 용서되지 않으리라.’

31 ¶ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 그런즉 누구든지 인자를 대적하여 말을 하면, 그것이 그에게 용서되리라. 그러나 누구든지 성령을 대적하여 말하면, 이 세상에서도 오는 세상에서도 그것이 그에게 용서되지 않으리라.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

33 나무를 좋게 하고 그의 열매를 좋게 하든지 그렇지 않다면 나무도 썩게 하고 그의 열매도 썩게 하라. 이는 나무는 그의 열매로 알려지기 때문이라.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 오, 독사들의 세대야, 너희가 악하니 어떻게 선한 것들을 말할 수 있겠느냐? 이는 마음에서 넘쳐나는 것을 입이 말하기 때문이라.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 선한 사람은 마음의 선한 보물 창고에서 선한 것들을 내느니라. 그리고 악한 사람은 악한 보물 창고에서 악한 것들을 내느니라.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 그러나 내가 너희에게 말하노니, ‘사람들이 말할 모든 빈말마다 심판의 날에는 그들이 그것에 관하여 회계 보고를 해야 하리라.’

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 이는 너의 말들로 네가 정당함을 입증받을 것이요, 너의 말들로 네가 정죄를 받을 것이기 때문이라.”

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

38 ¶ 그때 서기관들 중에 어떤 이들과 바리새파 사람들 중에 어떤 이들이 응하며 말씀드리기를, “스승이여, 우리는 당신께로부터 표적을 보기 원하나이다.” 하였더라.

38 ¶ Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

39 반면 그분께서 그들에게 대답하여 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “악하고 음란한 세대가 표적을 구하는도다. 그런즉 예언자 요-나의 표적 말고는 아무런 표적도 이 세대에게 주어지지 아니하리라.

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 이는 요-나가 고래의 뱃속에 삼 일 낮과 삼 일 밤을 있었던 것과 같이 인자도 그처럼 삼 일 낮과 삼 일 밤을 땅의 심장 속에 있을 것이기 때문이라.

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

41 심판 때 니네베 사람들이 이 세대와 함께 일어나서 이 세대를 정죄하리라. 이는 그들이 요-나의 선포로 회개하였기 때문이라. 그런즉 보라, 여기에 요-나보다 더 위대한 이가 있느니라.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 심판 때 남방의 여왕이 이 세대와 함께 일어나서 이 세대를 정죄하리라. 이는 그녀가 솔로몬의 지혜를 들으려고 땅의 맨 끝부분들에서 왔기 때문이라. 그런즉 보라, 여기에 솔로몬보다 더 위대한 이가 있느니라.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

43 불결한 영이 어떤 사람에게서 나오자, 그가 마른 곳들을 두루 걸어 다니며 쉼을 찾으나 전혀 발견하지 못하느니라.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 그때 그가 말하기를, ‘내가 나온 곳인 내 집 안으로 내가 되돌아가리라.’ 하느니라. 그리하여 그가 오면 그것이 비어 있고 청소되어 있으며 장식되어 있음을 그가 발견하느니라.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 그때 그가 가서 자기보다 더 사악한 다른 일곱 영을 자신 곁에 대동하나니, 그들이 침입하여 거기에서 거하느니라. 그리하여 그 사람의 마지막 상태가 처음 상태보다 악화되느니라. 바로 이처럼 이 사악한 세대에게도 그것이 이루어지리라.”

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

46 ¶ 그분께서 아직 사람들과 대화하시는 동안, 보라, 그분의 어머니와 그분의 형제들이 그분과 말하기를 희망하며 밖에 서 있더라.

46 ¶ While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

47 그때 누군가 그분께 말씀드리기를, “보소서, 당신의 어머니와 당신의 형제들이 당신과 말하기를 간절히 바라며 밖에 서 있나이다.” 하였더라.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

48 그러나 그분께서 자신에게 일러 준 그에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를, “누가 나의 어머니냐? 또 누가 나의 형제들이냐?” 하시니라.

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49 그러면서 그분께서 자기 손을 자기 제자들을 향해 뻗으시며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “나의 어머니와 나의 형제들을 보라!

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

50 이는 누구든지 하늘에 계신 나의 아버지의 뜻을 행할 자, 곧 그와 같은 자가 나의 형제요, 자매요, 어머니이기 때문이라.”

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
