1 므낫세가 통치하기 시작할 때 그는 십이 세였으며, 그가 예루살렘에서 오십오 년 동안 통치하였더라.
1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2 그러나 그는 주께서 이스라엘 자녀들 앞에서 쫓아내신 이교도들의 가증함들과 같이 주의 목전에 악한 것을 행하였더라.
2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 ¶ 이는 그가 그의 아버지 히스키야가 헐어 버렸던 높은 처소들을 다시 건축하였으며, 그가 바알들을 위하여 제단들을 건립하고 작은 수풀들을 조성하였으며 하늘의 모든 군대에게 경배하고 그것들을 섬겼기 때문이라.
3 ¶ For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4 또한 그는 주의 집 안에다 제단들을 쌓았으니, 그곳에 관하여 주께서 말씀하시기를, “예루살렘에 나의 이름이 영원토록 있으리라.” 하셨느니라.
4 Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5 그리고 그가 주의 집의 두 뜰들 안에 하늘의 모든 군대를 위하여 제단들을 쌓았더라.
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
6 그리고 그는 힌놈의 아들의 골짜기에서 그의 자식들로 하여금 불을 통과하게 하였더라. 또한 그는 점을 보았고 마력들을 사용하였으며 마술을 사용하였고 부리는 영과 요술사들과 관계하였더라. 그가 주의 목전에 악을 많이 행하였고 그분께 분노를 일으켰더라.
6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
7 그리고 그가 깎아 만들어진 형상, 곧 자신이 만든 우상을 하나님의 집 안에 세웠으니, 그곳에 관하여 하나님께서 다윗에게, 또 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “내가 이스라엘의 모든 지파들 앞에서 선택한 이 집과 예루살렘에 내가 나의 이름을 영원토록 두겠노라.
7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8 또한 나는 내가 너희 조상들을 위하여 지정한 지역에서 이스라엘의 발을 더 이상 옮기지 아니하겠노라. 그렇게 하여 그들은 모세의 손을 통한 율법 전체와 규례들과 법령들에 따라 내가 그들에게 명령한 모든 것을 행하려고 주의할 것이라.”
8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9 이처럼 므낫세가 유다와, 예루살렘 거주자들로 하여금 잘못하게 하였고, 주께서 이스라엘 자녀들 앞에서 멸하신 이교도들보다 더 나쁘게 행하도록 만들었더라.
9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 그런즉 주께서 므낫세에게, 또 그의 백성에게 말씀하셨더라. 그러나 그들이 경청하려 하지 아니하였더라.
10 And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11 ¶ 이러한 이유로 주께서 아시리아 왕의 군대 대장들을 그들 위로 데려오셨으니, 그들이 므낫세를 가시나무들 사이에서 붙잡았고 그를 족쇄들로 결박하여 바빌론으로 그를 잡아갔더라.
11 ¶ Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 그러자 그가 고난 중에 있을 때 그는 주 그의 하나님께 간청하였고 그의 조상들의 하나님 앞에서 자신을 대단히 겸손하게 하였으며
12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13 그분께 기도하였더라. 그리하여 그분께서 그의 사정을 보아주셨고 그의 간구를 들으셨으며 그를 다시 그의 왕국으로 데려오시어 예루살렘에 이르게 하셨더라. 그때 므낫세가 주, 그분께서 하나님이셨음을 알았더라.
13 And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.
14 이제 이 일이 있은 후에 그가 다윗의 도시 밖에서 기혼의 서편 골짜기에 성벽을 건축하여 물고기문 진입로까지 이르게 하였더라. 그리고 오펠 주위를 둘러쌌고 그것을 아주 대단한 높이로 세워 올렸으며 유다에 속하고 방비가 강화된 모든 도시들 안에 전쟁의 대장들을 두었더라.
14 Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15 그리고 그가 타국 신들을 제거하였고 주의 집에서 우상들도 제거하였으며 자신이 주의 집의 산속에 쌓은 모든 제단들도 제거하였고 예루살렘에서도 그리하였으며 그것들을 도시 밖으로 내다 버렸더라.
15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16 그리고 그가 주의 제단을 보수하였고 그 위에 화평 제물들과 감사 제물들을 희생시켰으며 유다에게 이스라엘의 주 하나님을 섬기라고 명령하였더라.
16 And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
17 그럼에도 불구하고 백성이 여전히 높은 처소들 안에서 희생 제물을 드렸는데 그렇지만 오직 주 그들의 하나님께만 드렸더라.
17 Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the LORD their God only.
18 ¶ 이제 므낫세의 행적들 중 나머지와 그가 자신의 하나님께 드린 기도와 이스라엘의 주 하나님의 이름으로 그에게 전한 선견자들의 말들이, 보라, 그것들이 이스라엘 왕들의 책 안에 기록되어 있느니라.
18 ¶ Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19 또한 그의 기도와, 하나님께서 어떻게 그의 간청을 받아 주셨는지와, 그의 모든 죄와, 그의 범법과, 그가 겸손해지기 전에 그가 높은 처소들을 건축한 장소들과, 작은 수풀들과 새겨진 형상들을 배치한 장소들이, 보라, 그것들이 선견자들의 어록들 사이에 기록되어 있느니라.
19 His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20 ¶ 이처럼 므낫세가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠들었고 그들이 그를 그의 자신의 집 안에 장사하였더라. 그리고 그의 아들 아몬이 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.
20 ¶ So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21 ¶ 아몬이 통치하기 시작하였을 때 그는 이십이 세였으며 예루살렘에서 이 년 동안 통치하였더라.
21 ¶ Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 그러나 그가 그의 아버지 므낫세가 행한 대로 주의 목전에 악한 것을 행하였더라. 이는 아몬이 그의 아버지 므낫세가 만들었던, 모든 깎아 만든 형상들에다 희생 제물을 바쳤고 그것들을 섬겼기 때문이라.
22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23 그러면서 그의 아버지 므낫세가 자신을 겸손하게 하였던 것처럼 주께 자신을 겸손하게 하지는 아니하였더라. 오히려 아몬이 더욱더 범법하였더라.
23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24 그리고 그의 종들이 그를 대적하여 모반하였고 그의 자신의 집 안에서 그를 살해하였더라.
24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25 ¶ 그러나 그 지역의 백성이 아몬왕을 대적하여 모반한 모든 자들을 살해하였더라. 그리고 그 지역의 백성이 그의 아들 요시야를 그를 대신하여 왕으로 삼았더라.
25 ¶ But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
