사도행전 10장

1 카이사랴에 고넬료라고 불리는 어떤 남자 한 명이 있었는데, 이탈리아인들의 부대라고 불리는 부대의 백부장이자

1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

2 독실한 남자이며 그의 온 집과 더불어 하나님을 두려워하였고 백성에게 많은 자선들을 베풀었으며 하나님께 늘 기도했던 자였더라.

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

3 그날의 제구시경에 하나님의 천사가 그에게 들어와서 그에게 말하기를, “고넬료야.” 하는 현시를 그가 분명하게 보았더라.

3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

4 그런즉 그가 그를 바라보자 그가 무서워하여 말하기를, “주여, 무슨 일이니이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “너의 기도들과 너의 자선이 하나님 앞에서 기념으로 상달되었느니라.

4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 그런즉 지금 욥파로 사람들을 보내어 베드로란 이명의 시몬이라 하는 이를 초청하라.

5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 그가 어떤 무두장이인 시몬이라 하는 이의 집에 묵고 있으니, 그의 집은 해변가에 있느니라. 그가 네가 마땅히 해야 할 것을 너에게 알려 주리라.”

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

7 그러고 나서 고넬료에게 말한 그 천사가 떠나자 그는 자기 집안의 종 두 명과 꾸준히 자신을 보좌한 자들 중 독실한 군인 한 명을 불렀더라.

7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

8 그리고 그가 이 모든 일들을 그들에게 분명히 밝힌 후에 그는 그들을 욥파로 보냈더라.

8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

9 ¶ 이튿날, 그들이 자신들의 여정을 떠나 그 도시에 가까이 다가가는 동안 베드로는 제육시경에 기도하러 옥상 위로 올라갔더라.

9 ¶ On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 그러다가 그가 몹시 허기가 져서 먹고자 하였으나 그들이 준비하는 동안 그가 현시의 몰입에 빠졌더라.

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 그러자 하늘이 열린 것과 어떤 그릇 하나가 그에게로 내려오고 있는 것을 보았는데, 그것은 마치 거대한 보자기에 네 모퉁이가 묶인 것 같았으며 땅으로 내려졌더라.

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 그 안에는 온갖 부류의 네 발 달린 땅의 짐승들과 야생 짐승들과 기어다니는 것들과 공중의 날짐승들이 있었더라.

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 그러자 한 음성이 그에게 임하셨는데, “베드로야, 일어나서 잡아먹으라.” 하셨더라.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 그러나 베드로가 말씀드리기를, “주여, 그럴 수 없나이다. 이는 제가 속된 것이나 불결한 것은 어떤 것도 결코 먹은 적이 없기 때문이옵니다.” 하였더라.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 그리고 그 음성이 그에게 다시 두 번째로 말씀하시기를, “하나님께서 정결하게 하신 것을 네가 속되다고 부르지 말라.” 하셨더라.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 이 일이 세 번 이루어졌더라. 그러고 나서 그 그릇은 하늘 속으로 다시 받들려 올라갔더라.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 보라, 이제 베드로가 자신이 목격한 이 현시가 무엇을 의미하는지 스스로 확신이 서지 않아 하는 동안 고넬료로부터 보냄을 받은 남자들이 시몬의 집을 문의하였고 대문 앞에 서서

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

18 부르며 베드로란 이명으로 불리는 시몬이 거기에 묵고 있는지 아닌지 물었더라.

18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 ¶ 베드로가 그 현시에 대하여 생각하고 있는 동안 성령께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “보라, 세 남자가 너를 찾고 있느니라.

19 ¶ While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 그러므로 일어나서 너는 내려가라. 그리고 아무것도 의심하지 말고 그들과 함께 가라. 이는 내가 그들을 보냈기 때문이라.”

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 그때 베드로가 고넬료로부터 보냄을 받은 남자들에게 내려갔더라. 그러고는 말하기를, “보라, 내가 당신들이 찾고 있는 자라. 그러므로 당신들은 무슨 까닭으로 왔는가?” 하였더라.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 그러자 그들이 이같이 말하였더라. “백부장 고넬료는 의인이요, 하나님을 두려워하고 유대인들의 온 민족 사이에서 좋은 평판을 가진 분인데, 거룩한 천사에 의하여 하나님으로부터 온 경고를 받았으니, 사람을 보내서 당신을 그의 집 안으로 모시고 당신의 말씀들을 들으라 하셨나이다.”

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 그때 그가 그들을 안으로 불러 그들을 묵게 하였더라. 그리고 이튿날 베드로가 그들과 함께 떠났으니 욥파로부터 온 어떤 형제들이 그와 함께 길을 나섰더라.

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 그리고 이튿날이 지나고 그들은 카이사랴에 진입하였더라. 이에 고넬료는 그들을 기다렸고 그의 혈족들과 가까운 친구들도 한데 불렀더라.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 그리하여 베드로가 안으로 들어가는 동안 고넬료가 그를 맞이하였고 그의 두 발 앞에 엎드려 그에게 경배하였더라.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 그러나 베드로가 그를 잡아 일으키며 말하기를, “일어서라. 나 자신도 사람이라.” 하였더라.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 그리고 그가 그와 대화하는 동안 그가 안으로 가서 함께 온 많은 이들을 발견하였더라.

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 그리고 그가 그들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “당신들도 알다시피 유대인인 사람이 또 다른 민족에 속한 누군가와 친교를 하거나 가까워지는 것은 합법적이지 않은 것이라. 그러나 내가 어떤 사람도 속되거나 불결하다고 부르지 말아야 한다는 것을 하나님께서 나에게 보이셨느니라.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 그러므로 나는 초청을 받자마자 어떠한 이의도 제기하지 않고 당신들에게로 왔노라. 그러므로 내가 묻노니 당신들은 무슨 의도로 나에게 사람을 보냈는가?”

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 그러자 고넬료가 말하기를, “사 일 전에 저는 이 시각까지 금식하고 있었으며 제구시에는 제가 저의 집 안에서 기도하고 있었나이다. 그런데 보소서, 한 남자가 제 앞에 빛나는 옷차림을 하고 서서

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 이같이 말하였나이다. ‘고넬료야, 너의 기도가 응답되었고 너의 자선이 하나님의 목전에서 기억되었도다.

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 그러므로 욥파로 사람을 보내어 여기로 베드로란 이명을 가진 시몬을 부르라. 그는 해변가에 있는 어떤 무두장이인 시몬이라 하는 이의 집 안에서 묵고 있느니라. 그가 오면 그가 너에게 말해 주리라.’

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 그러므로 즉시 제가 당신께 사람을 보냈으며 당신이 오셨으니 당신께서는 잘하신 것이니이다. 그러므로 이제 하나님께서 당신께 명령하신 모든 것들을 들으려고 우리 모두가 하나님 앞에 참석하였나이다.”

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 ¶ 그때 베드로가 자기 입을 열었고 이같이 말하였더라. “참으로 하나님께서는 외모들을 전혀 존중하지 아니하는 분이심을 내가 아노라.

34 ¶ Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 그러나 모든 민족마다 그 가운데 그분을 두려워하고 의를 수행하는 자는 그분께 기꺼이 받아들여지느니라.

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36 하나님께서 이스라엘 자녀들에게 보내신 말씀이 예수 그리스도에 의한 화평을 선포하였는데 (그분은 모든 것의 주시로다.)

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

37 내가 말하노니, 그 말씀은 온 유대에 걸쳐 공표되었고 요한이 선포한 침례 뒤에 갈릴리부터 시작하였음을 당신들도 아는 바라.

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

38 곧 하나님께서 나사렛 예수님께 성령님과 권능으로 기름을 부으셨으며, 그분께서는 선을 행하시고 마귀에게 억압받는 자들 모두를 치유하시며 두루 다니셨다는 것이라. 이는 하나님께서 그분과 함께 하셨기 때문이라.

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39 그런즉 우리는 그분께서 두 곳 모두, 곧 유대인들의 지역과 예루살렘 안에서 행하신 모든 일들의 증인들이라. 그들이 그분을 살해하였고 나무에 매달았느니라.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40 하나님께서는 그분을 셋째 날에 일으켜 세우시고 그분을 공개적으로 드러내 보이셨으니,

40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41 모든 백성에게 하신 것이 아니요, 다만 하나님께 미리 선택받은 증인들에게, 곧 우리에게라. 우리는 그분께서 죽은 자들로부터 살아나신 뒤에 그분과 함께 먹고 마신 자들이라.

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

42 그리하여 그분께서는 백성에게 선포하라고 우리에게 명령하셨으며, 그분이 산 자와 죽은 자의 심판자가 되기 위하여 하나님께 임명받은 자이심을 증언하라고 명령하셨느니라.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

43 그분에 대하여 모든 예언자들이 증거하였으니 그의 이름을 통하여 그분을 믿는 자는 누구든지 죄들의 사면을 받으리라는 것이라.”

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 ¶ 베드로가 아직 이런 말들을 전하고 있는 동안 성령님께서 말씀을 들은 그들 모두 위에 임하셨더라.

44 ¶ While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 그러자 이방인들 위에도 성령님의 선물이 부어졌으므로 할례자들 중에서 베드로와 함께 온 믿는 자들이 다 깜짝 놀랐더라.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 이는 이방인들이 방언들로 말하고 하나님을 드높이는 것을 그들이 들었기 때문이라. 그때 베드로가 반응하였더라.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 “그들이 우리와 마찬가지로 성령님을 받았는데 어떤 사람이 이들에게 침례받지 못하도록 물을 금할 수 있겠느냐?”

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 그리하여 그가 그들에게 주의 이름으로 침례를 받으라고 명령하였더라. 그때 그들은 그에게 며칠 머물 것을 간구하였더라.

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
