사도행전 7장

1 그때 대제사장이 말하기를, “이것들이 사실이냐?” 하였더라.

1 Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

2 그러자 그가 말하기를, “남자들아, 형제들아, 그리고 아버지들아, 경청하라. 영광의 하나님께서 우리의 조상 아브라함이 카란¹에 거하기 전 메소포타미아에 있었을 때 그에게 나타나셨으니,

2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

3 그에게 말씀하시기를, ‘너의 고향으로부터와 너의 친족으로부터 떠나 내가 너에게 보여 줄 지역으로 들어오라.’ 하셨느니라.

3 And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee.

4 그때 그가 칼대아인들의 지역에서 나와서 카란에 거하였고, 그의 아버지가 죽은 후에 그분께서 그를 거기로부터 너희가 지금 거하고 있는 이 지역으로 옮기셨느니라.

4 Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell.

5 그리고 그분께서 그에게 그 안에서 유산을 전혀 주지 아니하셨는데 그가 발붙일 만큼도 주지 아니하셨으니, 아니하셨도다. 그럼에도 그분께서 친히 그곳을 그에게 소유로 주리라 약속하셨으며, 그가 아직 자식이 없었을 때 그의 뒤를 잇는 그의 씨에게도 약속하셨느니라.

5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child.

6 그리고 하나님께서 이런 식으로 말씀하셨느니라. ‘그의 씨가 한 타국 지역에서 체류해야 하리라. 그리고 저들이 그들을 노예 신세가 되게 할 것이요, 그들을 사백 년간 악하게 다룰 것이라.’

6 And God spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.

7 그런즉 하나님께서 말씀하시기를, ‘그들이 그 민족에게 노예 신세가 되리니, 그 민족을 내가 심판하겠노라. 그리고 그 뒤에 그들이 나아와서 이 장소에서 나를 섬기리라.’ 하셨느니라.

7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.

8 그러면서 그분께서 그에게 할례의 언약을 주셨느니라. 그리고 그와 같이 아브라함이 이삭을 낳았고 여덟 번째 날에 그에게 할례를 행하였도다. 이어서 이삭은 야곱을 낳았고 야곱은 열두 족장들을 낳았느니라.

8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.

9 이후에 족장들이 시기가 발동되어 요셉을 이집트로 팔았으나 하나님께서 그와 함께하셨느니라.

9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

10 그리고 그의 모든 고난들에서 그를 구출하셨고 그에게 이집트 왕 파라오의 목전에서 호의와 지혜를 주셨으니 그가 그를 이집트와 그의 온 집을 거느리는 지배자로 삼았느니라.

10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

11 이때 이집트와 카나안² 전역에 흉년이 들었으니, 크나큰 고난이라. 그리고 우리의 조상들이 식량을 찾지 못하였느니라.

11 Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance.

12 그러나 야곱이 이집트 안에 곡식이 있다는 것을 듣자 그가 우리의 조상들을 먼저 보냈느니라.

12 But when Jacob heard that there was corn in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first.

13 그리고 두 번째에 요셉이 그의 형제들에게 알려졌으며 이후에 또 요셉의 친족이 파라오에게 알려졌느니라.

13 And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh.

14 그때 요셉이 사람을 보내서 그의 아버지 야곱을 자신에게로 불렀고 그의 모든 친족도 부르니 일흔다섯 혼들이라.

14 Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls.

15 그런 이유로 야곱이 이집트로 내려왔고 그와 우리의 조상들이 죽었으니,

15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,

16 수켐³으로 옮겨져서 아브라함이 얼마간의 금액을 내고 수켐의 아버지 엠몰⁴의 아들들에게서 매입한 그 돌무덤 안에 안치되었느니라.

16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.

17 그러나 하나님께서 아브라함에게 맹세하신 약속의 때가 가까이 다가왔을 때 백성이 이집트에서 증대하고 번성하였으니

17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

18 요셉을 몰랐던 또 다른 왕이 일어날 때까지라.

18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.

19 바로 그자가 우리의 친족을 간교하게 대하였고 우리의 조상들을 악하게 다루었으니, 그렇게 하여 저들은 그들을 살지 못하게 하려는 취지로 그들의 어린 자녀들을 내다 버렸느니라.

19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

20 그때에 모세가 태어났는데 지극히 수려하였기에 그의 아버지의 집에서 삼 개월간 키워졌느니라.

20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:

21 그리고 그가 내다 버려졌을 때 파라오의 딸이 그를 거두어들였고 그를 그녀 자신의 아들로 부양하였도다.

21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.

22 그리하여 모세가 이집트인들의 모든 지혜를 배우게 되었으니, 말들에 있어서와 행실들에 있어서 매우 능력 있었느니라.

22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

23 그리고 그가 만 사십 세가 되었을 때 자신의 형제들인 이스라엘 자녀들을 찾아갈 생각이 그의 마음속에 들어왔느니라.

23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

24 그리고 그가 그들 중 한 명이 그릇되이 고통받는 것을 보고는 그를 옹호하였고 압제당한 자의 복수를 이행하여 이집트인을 쳤느니라.

24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:

25 이는 모세가 자신의 손을 통하여 하나님께서 그들을 구출하시고자 하심을 그의 형제들이 이해하였을 것이라고 짐작하였기 때문이라. 그러나 그들은 이해하지 못하였느니라.

25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

26 그리하여 다음 날 그들이 분쟁하고 있을 때 그가 그들에게 스스로를 내보이며 다시금 그들을 하나 되게 하려고 하면서 말하기를, ‘선생님들이여, 당신들은 형제들인데 어찌하여 당신들은 서로에게 옳지 않게 행하나이까?’ 하였느니라.

26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?

27 그러나 그의 이웃에게 옳지 않게 행한 자가 그를 확 밀치며 이같이 말하였느니라. ‘너를 우리 위에 치리자와 판관으로 삼은 자가 누구냐?

27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?

28 네가 어제 그 이집트인에게 한 것처럼 네가 나도 죽이려고 하느냐?’

28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

29 그때 이렇게 말한 것 때문에 모세가 도망하였고 마디안⁵ 지역 가운데서 타국인이 되었으니, 그곳은 그가 두 아들을 낳은 곳이라.

29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

30 그리고 사십 년이 만료되었을 때 시내산⁶ 광야 가운데서 주의 천사가 떨기나무 가운데 있는 불의 화염 속에서 그에게 나타났느니라.

30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

31 모세가 그것을 보았을 때 그는 그 광경을 경이로워 하였더라. 그런즉 그가 그것을 보려고 가까이 다가가는 동안 주의 음성이 그에게 임하였으니,

31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him,

32 말씀하시기를, ‘나는 네 조상들의 하나님이니, 아브라함의 하나님이요, 이삭의 하나님이요, 야곱의 하나님이라.’ 하셨느니라. 그때 모세가 떨었고 감히 보지 못하였더라.

32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

33 그때 주께서 그에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. ‘너의 두 발에서 너의 신발들을 벗으라. 이는 네가 선 곳이 거룩한 터이기 때문이라.

33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

34 이집트에서 나의 백성의 고난을 내가 보았고 또 내가 보았으니, 그들의 신음을 내가 들었기에 그들을 구출하려고 내려왔느니라. 그런즉 이제 오라, 내가 너를 이집트로 보내겠노라.’

34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.

35 그들이 ‘너를 치리자와 판관으로 삼은 자가 누구냐?’라고 말하며 거부한 자가 이 모세니라. 바로 그를 하나님께서 떨기나무 가운데 그에게 나타난 천사를 통하여 치리자와 구출자가 되도록 보내셨느니라.

35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

36 사십 년 동안 그가 이집트 지역 가운데서, 또 홍해에서 또 광야 가운데서 이적들과 기적들을 보인 뒤에 그들을 데리고 나왔느니라.

36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.

37 ¶ 이것이 그 모세니, 그가 이스라엘 자녀들에게 말하기를, ‘주 너희의 하나님께서 너희 형제들 중에서 나와 같은 한 예언자를 너희에게 일으켜 세우시리라. 너희는 그의 말을 들을지니라.’ 하였느니라.

37 ¶ This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

38 이것이 그니, 곧 시내산 속에서 그에게 말한 천사와 함께 광야 속 교회에 있었으며, 우리의 조상들과 함께 있었던 자라. 그는 우리에게 주고자 생명력 있는 신탁의 말씀들을 받았느니라.

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

39 우리 조상들은 그에게 순종하려고 하지 아니하였고 오히려 그를 자신들에게서 밀쳐 냈으며, 자기들 마음속에서 다시금 이집트로 돌이켰으니,

39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt,

40 아론에게 말하기를, ‘우리 앞으로 갈 신들을 우리에게 만들어 달라. 이는 우리를 이집트 지역에서 데리고 나온 이 모세로 말하자면 우리는 그가 어떻게 되었는지 모르기 때문이라.’ 하였느니라.

40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

41 그리하여 그들이 그 당시에 송아지를 만들었고 그 우상에게 희생 제물을 바쳤으며 그들 자신의 손에서 나온 결과물들을 크게 기뻐하였느니라.

41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

42 그때 하나님께서 돌이키셨고 그들이 하늘의 군대를 경배하도록 내버려 두셨느니라. 예언자들의 책 안에 기록된 바와 같으니라. ‘오, 너희, 이스라엘 집아, 너희가 사십 년의 기간 동안 광야 가운데서 도살당한 짐승들과 희생 제물들을 나에게 바친 적이 있었더냐?

42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

43 진정, 너희가 몰록의 장막과 너희의 신 렘판의 별, 곧 너희가 그것들을 경배하려고 만든 모형들을 지니고 다녔도다. 그런즉 나는 너희를 바빌론 너머로 끌고 가 버릴 것이라.’

43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

44 우리 조상들이 증거의 장막을 광야 가운데 두었으니 모세가 자신이 목격한 형식에 따라 그것을 만들도록 그분께서 그에게 말씀하시며 지정하신 대로였더라.

44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.

45 그 뒤에 온 우리 조상들 역시, 하나님께서 우리 조상들의 얼굴 앞에서 내쫓으신 이방인들의 소유 안으로 예수와 함께 그것을 들여왔으니, 다윗의 날들에까지 이르렀느니라.

45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

46 다윗은 하나님 앞에서 호의를 발견하였고 야곱의 하나님을 위하여 성막을 장만하려고 열망하였느니라.

46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

47 그러나 솔로몬이 그분께 한 집을 건축하여 드렸느니라.

47 But Solomon built him an house.

48 하지만 지극히 높으신 분께서는 사람들의 손으로 지어진 성전들에 거하지 아니하시느니라. 그 예언자가 말하는 것과 같으니,

48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,

49 ‘주가 말하노라. 하늘은 나의 보좌요, 땅은 나의 발등상이라. 너희가 나에게 무슨 집을 건축하여 주겠느냐? 혹은 나의 안식의 처소가 무엇이냐?

49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

50 이 모든 것들을 나의 손으로 만들지 아니하였느냐?’ 하니라.

50 Hath not my hand made all these things?

51 ¶ 고개가 뻣뻣하게 되고 마음속과 두 귀에 할례받지 않은 너희여, 너희가 항상 성령님께 저항하는도다. 너희 조상들이 한 것과 같이 너희가 그렇게 행하는도다.

51 ¶ Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

52 예언자들 중 너희 조상들이 박해하지 아니한 이가 누구냐? 그리고 그들이 그 정의로우신 분의 오심에 관하여 미리 제시하였던 예언자들을 살해하였도다. 이제 그분에 관하여는 너희가 배반자들과 살인자들이 되었도다.

52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

53 너희는 천사들의 제정함에 따른 율법을 받았는데 그것을 지키지 아니하였도다.”

53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.

54 ¶ 그들이 이런 것들을 들었을 때 그들은 마음이 상하였으니, 그들이 그를 향하여 자신들의 이를 갈았더라.

54 ¶ When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

55 그러나 성령님으로 충만한 스데반은 하늘 속을 확고히 올려다보았으며 하나님의 영광과 하나님의 오른편에 서 계신 예수님을 보았기에

55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

56 말하기를, “보라, 내가 하늘들이 열린 것과 또 하나님의 오른편에 서 계신 인자를 보노라.” 하였더라.

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

57 그때 그들이 큰 목소리로 소리 질렀고 자신들의 귀를 틀어막았으며 일제히 그에게 달려들었더라.

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

58 그런 다음에 그를 도시 밖으로 던졌고 그를 돌로 쳤더라. 그러자 증인들이 그들의 옷을 한 청년의 두 발 앞에 내려놓았는데 그의 이름은 사울이었더라.

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.

59 그런즉 하나님을 부르며 “주 예수여, 저의 영을 받아주소서.”라고 말하는 스데반을 그들이 돌로 쳤더라.

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

60 이에 그가 무릎을 꿇고 큰 목소리로 외쳤으니, “주여, 이 죄를 그들의 책임으로 돌리지 마옵소서.” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 이렇게 말한 후에 그는 잠들었더라.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
