느헤미야기 13장

1 그날에 그들이 모세의 책 안에 있는 것을 백성이 청취하는 데서 낭독하였더라. 그리고 그 안에서 다음과 같이 기록된 것을 발견하였으니, 곧 암몬족과 모압족은 영원토록 하나님의 회중 안으로 들어와서는 안 된다는 것이라.

1 On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;

2 이는 그들이 이스라엘 자녀들을 빵과 물을 가지고 맞이하지 아니하였고 오히려 그들을 대적하여 발라암을 고용해 그로 하여금 그들을 저주하게 하였기 때문이라. 하지만 우리 하나님께서 그 저주를 복으로 바꾸셨느니라.

2 Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.

3 이제 그들이 그 율법을 들었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그들이 섞여 있는 모든 무리를 이스라엘에서 분리시켰더라.

3 Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

4 ¶ 그리고 이런 일이 있기 전에, 우리 하나님의 집의 방실에 관하여 감독권을 가진 제사장 엘리아십이 토비야와 결탁하였더라.

4 ¶ And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:

5 그런즉 그가 앞서 그를 위하여 커다란 방실을 예비하였는데 그곳은 그들이 예전에 음식 제물들과 유향과 기물들과, 곡식의 십일조들과 새 포도즙과 기름을 놓던 곳이니, 그것들은 레위인들과 노래하는 자들과 문지기들에게 주어져야 한다고 명령된 것들이며, 제사장들의 제물들도 놓던 곳이라.

5 And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.

6 그러나 이 모든 때에 나는 예루살렘에 있지 아니하였더라. 이는 바빌론 왕 아르타크세르크세스 제삼십이년에 내가 왕에게 도착하였고 며칠 뒤에 내가 왕께 허가를 얻어 냈기 때문이라.

6 But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:

7 이후에 내가 예루살렘에 도착하였는데, 하나님의 집의 뜰들 안에 엘리아십이 토비야에게 방실을 예비함으로써 그를 위해 벌인 악을 알게 되었더라.

7 And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.

8 그런즉 그 일이 나를 심히 비통하게 하였더라. 그러므로 내가 그 방실에서 토비야의 집안 물건을 모두 밖으로 던졌더라.

8 And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber.

9 그때 내가 명령하였더니 그들이 방실들을 정결하게 하였더라. 그리고 거기로 내가 다시 하나님의 집의 기물들을 음식 제물과 유향과 함께 가져갔더라.

9 Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.

10 ¶ 그리고 내가 레위인들의 몫들이 그들에게 주어진 적이 없었다는 것을 알아차렸더라. 이는 일을 하던 레위인들과 노래하는 자들이 모두 저마다 자기 밭으로 도망쳤기 때문이라.

10 ¶ And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.

11 그때 내가 치리자들과 논쟁하며 말하기를, “어찌하여 하나님의 집이 버려져 있느냐?” 하였더라. 그러면서 내가 그들을 함께 모았고 그들의 위치에 그들을 다시 세웠더라.

11 Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

12 그때 온 유다가 곡식의 십일조와 새 포도즙과 기름을 금고들로 가져갔더라.

12 Then brought all Judah the tithe of the corn and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries.

13 그리고 내가 제사장 셸레미야와 서기관 사독과 레위인들 중에서는 프다야를 금고들을 관리하는 재보 담당관들로 삼았더라. 그리고 그들의 다음가는 자는 맛타니야의 자손이자 작쿨의 아들인 하난이었더라. 이는 그들이 신실한 자들로 여겨졌고 그들의 직책은 그들의 형제들에게 분배하는 것이었기 때문이라.

13 And I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedaiah: and next to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah: for they were counted faithful, and their office was to distribute unto their brethren.

14 오, 나의 하나님이여, 이것에 관하여 저를 기억하소서. 그리하여 제가 나의 하나님의 집을 위하여 그리고 그곳의 직책들을 위하여 행한 저의 선한 행실들을 지워 버리지 마소서.

14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.

15 ¶ 그 당시에 유다 내에서 안식일에 포도즙 틀들을 밟고 단들을 가지고 들어오며 나귀들에 짐을 싣는 몇몇을 내가 보았는데, 포도즙과 포도들과 무화과들과 온갖 부류의 짐들도 마찬가지였으니, 그 짐들은 그들이 안식일에 예루살렘 안으로 가져온 것들이라. 그리하여 내가 그들이 먹을거리들을 팔았던 그날 그들을 대적하여 증언하였더라.

15 ¶ In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.

16 또한 그 안에서 거한 티레 사람들이 있었는데, 그들이 물고기와 온갖 부류의 제조품을 가져왔고 안식일에 유다 자녀들에게, 그리고 예루살렘 내에서 팔았더라.

16 There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

17 그때 내가 유다의 귀족들과 쟁론하였으며 그들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “너희가 이런 일을 행하고 안식일을 속되게 하니, 이 무슨 악한 짓이냐?

17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

18 너희 조상들이 이같이 행하지 아니하였느냐? 또 우리 하나님께서 이 모든 해악을 너희 위와 이 도시 위에 가져오지 아니하셨느냐? 그럼에도 너희가 안식일을 욕되게 함으로써 이스라엘 위에 진노를 더 가져오는도다.”

18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.

19 그런즉 이러한 일이 있었으니, 예루살렘의 성문들이 안식일 전에 어둑해지기 시작하였을 때 내가 성문들이 폐쇄되어야 한다고 명령하였으며, 안식일이 지날 때까지 그것들이 개방되어서는 안 된다고 명하였더라. 그리고 내가 나의 종들 중 일부를 성문들에 세워서 안식일에 아무 짐도 들이는 일이 없게 하였더라.

19 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

20 그렇게 하자 상인들과 모든 종류의 제조품 판매상들이 한두 번 예루살렘 밖에서 묵었더라.

20 So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.

21 그때 내가 그들을 대적하여 증언하였고 그들에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 너희는 성벽 주위에서 묵느냐? 만일 너희가 다시 그렇게 한다면, 내가 너희 위에 두 손을 대겠노라.” 하였더라. 그 시간부터 그들이 안식일에 더 이상 나오지 아니하였더라.

21 Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.

22 그리고 내가 레위인들에게 그들이 자신들을 정결하게 해야 한다는 것과, 그들이 안식일을 성결하게 구별하기 위해 와서 성문들을 지켜야 하는 것을 명령하였더라. 오, 나의 하나님이여, 이것에 관해서도 당신의 자비의 위대하심에 따라 저를 아껴 주소서.

22 And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

23 ¶ 그 당시에 또한 내가 아슈돗 출신과 암몬 출신과 모압 출신의 아내들과 혼인한 유대인들을 보았더라.

23 ¶ In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:

24 그리고 그들의 자식들이 아슈돗 지방어는 절반쯤 하였는데 유대인들의 언어는 하지 못하고 다만 각 백성의 언어대로만 말하였더라.

24 And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.

25 그런즉 내가 그들과 논쟁하였고 그들을 저주하였으며 그들 중 어떤 사람들을 쳤고 그들의 머리카락을 뽑았으며 그들로 하여금 하나님을 두고 맹세하게 하며 이같이 말하였더라. “너희는 너희 딸들을 그들의 아들들에게 주지 말고 그들의 딸들을 너희 아들들에게 얻어 주거나 너희 자신들을 위해서 취하지도 말지니라.

25 And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.

26 이스라엘 왕 솔로몬이 이런 일들로 죄를 짓지 아니하였느냐? 그럼에도 많은 민족들 사이에 그와 같은 왕이 없었으니, 그는 그의 하나님의 사랑받는 자였고 하나님께서 그를 온 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕으로 삼으셨도다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그마저도 이국 여자들이 죄짓게 하였느니라.

26 Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

27 그렇다면 우리가 너희에게 경청하여 타국 아내들과 혼인함으로써 이 모든 엄청난 악을 행하고 우리 하나님을 대적하여 불법을 행하여야 하겠느냐?”

27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?

28 그런데 대제사장 엘리아십의 자손이자 요야다의 아들들 중 한 명이 호론족 산발랏의 사위였더라. 그러므로 내가 그를 쫓아내어 나에게서 떠나게 하였더라.

28 And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

29 오, 나의 하나님이여, 그들을 기억하소서. 이는 그들이 제사장직과 제사장직의 언약과 레위인들의 언약을 더럽혔기 때문이니이다.

29 Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.

30 따라서 제가 그들을 모든 타국인들로부터 정결하게 하였고 제사장들과 레위인들의 직무조들에게 각자 자기 임무를 지정하였나이다.

30 Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business;

31 또 지정된 때들에 목재 봉헌물과 첫 열매들을 위해서도 그리하였나이다. 오, 나의 하나님이여, 선한 것으로 저를 기억하여 주소서.

31 And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.
