열왕기상 11장

1 그러나 솔로몬왕이 많은 타국 여인들을 파라오의 딸과 더불어 사랑하였으니, 모압족들과 암몬족들과 에돔족들과 지돈인들과 히타이트족들에 속한 여자들이라.

1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

2 곧, 주께서 이스라엘 자녀들에게 말씀하시기를, “너희는 그들에게 들어가지 말아야 하며, 그들도 너희에게 들어오지 말아야 할지니라. 이는 반드시 그들이 너희의 마음을 돌이켜 그들의 신들을 따르게 할 것이기 때문이라.” 하신 것과 관련된 민족들에 속한 여자들이라. 솔로몬이 그들에게 사랑으로 결합하였더라.

2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

3 그리하여 그가 칠백 명의 아내들을 빈들로 두었고 삼백 명의 후궁들을 두었더라. 그리하여 그의 아내들이 그의 마음을 다른 데로 돌렸더라.

3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

4 이는 솔로몬이 늙었을 때 이러한 일이 있었기 때문이니, 그의 아내들이 그의 마음을 돌이켜 다른 신들을 따르게 하였고 그의 마음이 자기 아버지 다윗의 마음과 같이 주 그의 하나님께 완전하지 아니하였더라.

4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5 이는 솔로몬이 지돈인들의 여신 아슈토렛을 따라갔고, 암몬족들의 가증함인 밀콤을 따라갔기 때문이라.

5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

6 그리하여 솔로몬이 주의 목전에 악을 행하였고, 주를 완전하게 따라가지 아니하였으니, 그의 아버지 다윗이 한 것과 같지 아니하였더라.

6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.

7 그때 솔로몬이 모압의 가증함인 크모시를 위하여 예루살렘 앞에 있는 언덕에 높은 처소 하나를 건축하였고, 암몬의 후손들의 가증함인 몰렉을 위해서도 그리하였더라.

7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

8 그리고 그가 자신의 모든 이방 아내들을 위해서도 그리하였으니, 그들은 그들의 신들에게 향을 태우고 희생 제물을 바쳤더라.

8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

9 ¶ 그리하여 그에게 두 번이나 나타나신, 이스라엘의 주 하나님으로부터 솔로몬의 마음이 돌이켜진 까닭에 주께서 그에게 분노하셨으니,

9 ¶ And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

10 이 일에 관하여 그에게 명령하시어 그는 다른 신들을 따라가지 말라고 하셨더라. 그러나 그가 주께서 명령하신 것을 지키지 아니하였더라.

10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.

11 이러한 이유로 주께서 솔로몬에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “이런 일이 너에게서 벌어졌고 내가 너에게 명령한 나의 언약과 나의 규례들을 네가 지키지 아니하였으므로, 내가 반드시 너에게서 왕국을 찢겠으며 그것을 너의 종에게 주겠노라.

11 Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

12 그럼에도 불구하고 너의 아버지 다윗을 위하여 나는 그것을 너의 날들에 행하지 아니하겠노라. 그러나 내가 그것을 너의 아들의 손에서 빼앗아 찢겠노라.

12 Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father's sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.

13 하지만 내가 왕국 전체를 찢어 없애지는 아니하겠으니, 오직 나의 종인 다윗을 위하여, 또 내가 선택한 예루살렘을 위하여 너의 아들에게 한 지파를 주겠노라.”

13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

14 ¶ 그리하여 주께서 솔로몬에게 한 대적을 격동시키셨으니, 곧 에돔족 하닷이라. 그는 에돔에서 왕의 씨에 속한 자였더라.

14 ¶ And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.

15 이는 다윗이 에돔에 있고, 군대 대장인 요압이 에돔에 있는 모든 남성을 저마다 친 뒤에 요압이 살해된 자들을 묻으러 올라갔을 때 이러한 일이 있었기 때문이니,

15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;

16 (요압이 에돔에 있는 모든 남성을 저마다 끊어 버릴 때까지 그가 육 개월 동안 온 이스라엘과 함께 거기에 남아 있었더라.)

16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)

17 하닷이 도망쳤으니, 그와 그의 아버지의 종들에 속한 몇몇 에돔족들이 그와 더불어 이집트로 들어갔는데, 하닷은 어린아이에 불과하였더라.

17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.

18 그리하여 그들이 미디안에서 일어나 파란에 도달하였더라. 그런 다음에 그들이 파란에서 남자들을 자기 곁에 취하였고 그들이 이집트로 들어갔으니, 이집트 왕 파라오에게 이르렀더라. 파라오는 집 한 채를 그에게 주었고 먹을거리들을 그에게 정해 주었으며, 토지를 그에게 하사하였더라.

18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

19 그리하여 하닷이 파라오의 목전에서 대단한 호의를 발견하였은즉 파라오가 그에게 자기 자신의 아내의 자매, 곧 타프네스 왕비의 자매를 아내로 주었더라.

19 And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.

20 그리하여 타프네스의 자매가 그에게 그의 아들인 그누밧을 낳아 주었으니, 타프네스는 그누밧이 파라오의 집 안에서 젖을 떼게 하였더라. 그리하여 그누밧은 파라오의 아들들 사이에서 파라오의 집안사람이 되었더라.

20 And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.

21 그러다가 하닷이 이집트에서 다윗이 그의 조상들과 함께 잠든 것과 군대 대장 요압이 죽은 것을 들었을 때, 하닷이 파라오에게 말하기를, “제가 떠나는 것을 허락하시어 제가 저의 고국으로 갈 수 있게 하옵소서.” 하였더라.

21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.

22 그때 파라오가 그에게 말하기를, “그러나 보라, 네가 나와 함께 있으면서 무엇이 부족하기에 너는 너의 고국으로 가려고 하느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 대답하기를, “아무것도 없나이다. 하지만 아무쪼록 저를 가게 하옵소서.” 하였더라.

22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.

23 ¶ 그리고 하나님께서 그에게 또 다른 대적을 격동시키셨으니, 곧 엘리아다흐의 아들 르존이니, 그는 자기 군주인 조바흐 왕 하닷에젤로부터 도망쳤더라.

23 ¶ And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

24 그리고 다윗이 조바흐에 속한 자들을 살해하였을 때 그가 남자들을 자신에게 모아서 한 부대를 거느리는 대장이 되었더라. 그리하여 그들이 다마스쿠스로 갔고 그 안에 거하였으며 다마스쿠스에서 통치하였더라.

24 And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus.

25 그리하여 그가 하닷이 끼친 해로움을 제외하고도 솔로몬의 모든 날들 동안 이스라엘의 한 대적이 되었으니, 그가 이스라엘을 혐오하였고 시리아를 통치하였더라.

25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.

26 ¶ 그리고 느밧의 아들 여로보암, 곧 즈레다에 속한 한 에프랏족이요, 솔로몬의 종이요, 그의 어머니의 이름은 즈루아로 과부인 여자인데, 바로 그가 왕을 대적하여 자기 손을 들어 올렸더라.

26 ¶ And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king.

27 그리고 그가 자기 손을 왕을 대적하여 들어 올린 까닭은 이러하였더라. 솔로몬이 밀로를 건축하였고 그의 아버지 다윗의 도시의 부서진 곳들을 보수하였더라.

27 And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.

28 그런데 그 남자, 여로보암은 한 막강한 용사였더라. 그리고 솔로몬이 그 청년이 근면한 것을 보고는 그가 여로보암을 요셉의 집의 모든 책무를 관리하는 치리자로 삼았더라.

28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.

29 그런데 여로보암이 예루살렘에서 나간 그때에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 실로족인 예언자 아히쟈가 그를 길에서 발견하였더라. 그런데 그는 새 의복 한 벌을 자신에게 걸쳤으니, 그들 둘만 들판에 있었더라.

29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:

30 그리하여 아히쟈가 자신에게 걸쳐 있던 새 의복을 잡아서 그것을 열두 조각으로 찢었더라.

30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:

31 그러면서 그가 여로보암에게 이같이 말하였더라. “너는 열 조각을 취하라. 이는 이스라엘의 하나님이신 주께서 이같이 말씀하시기 때문이라. ‘보라, 내가 솔로몬의 손에서 왕국을 찢겠으며, 너에게 열 지파들을 주겠노라.

31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:

32 (그러나 그는 나의 종 다윗을 위하여, 또 내가 이스라엘의 모든 지파들에서 선택한 도시인 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 가지리라.)

32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)

33 이는 그들이 나를 저버렸고, 지돈인들의 여신 아슈토렛과 모압족들의 신 크모시와 암몬의 후손들의 신 밀콤을 경배하였으며, 나의 눈들에 옳은 것을 행하고자, 또 나의 규례들과 나의 공의로운 법규들을 지키고자, 그의 아버지 다윗이 행한 대로 나의 길들 가운데 살아가지 아니한 까닭이라.

33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father.

34 하지만 내가 그의 손에서 왕국 전체를 빼앗지는 아니하겠노라. 다만 나는 내가 선택한 나의 종 다윗을 위하여 솔로몬의 생애의 모든 날들 동안 그를 통치자로 삼겠노라. 이는 다윗이 나의 명령들과 나의 규례들을 지킨 까닭이라.

34 Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:

35 그러나 나는 그의 아들의 손에서 왕국을 빼앗아 그것을 너에게 주겠으니, 곧 열 지파라.

35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes.

36 그리고 그의 아들에게는 내가 한 지파를 줄 것이니, 내가 나의 이름을 거기에 두려고 나를 위하여 선택한 도성 예루살렘에서 나의 종 다윗이 늘 내 앞에 한 빛을 가질 수 있도록 하려 함이라.

36 And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.

37 그리고 내가 너를 취하겠나니, 너는 너의 혼이 열망하는 모든 것에 따라 통치할 것이요, 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕이 되리라.

37 And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.

38 그리고 만일 내가 너에게 명령하는 모든 것에 네가 경청하려 하고, 나의 종 다윗이 행한 대로 나의 규례들과 나의 명령들을 지키고자 나의 길들 가운데 살아가고 나의 목전에 옳은 것을 행하려 한다면 이러한 일이 일어나리니, 내가 너와 함께 있고 내가 다윗에게 세워 준 것처럼 너에게 한 견고한 집을 세워 주겠으며 너에게 이스라엘을 주겠노라.

38 And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

39 그런즉 내가 이것으로 다윗의 씨를 괴롭힐 것이나 영원토록 하지는 아니하리라.’”

39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.

40 그러므로 솔로몬이 여로보암을 죽이는 것을 모색하였더라. 그리하여 여로보암이 일어나서 이집트로 도망하여 이집트 왕 시샥에게 이르렀으니, 솔로몬이 죽을 때까지 이집트에 있었더라.

40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.

41 ¶ 그리고 솔로몬의 행적들 중 나머지와 그가 행한 모든 것과 그의 지혜가, 곧 그것들이 솔로몬의 행적들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?

41 ¶ And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?

42 그런즉 솔로몬이 예루살렘에서 온 이스라엘을 통치한 시간은 사십 년이었더라.

42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.

43 이후에 솔로몬이 그의 조상들과 함께 잠들어 그의 아버지 다윗의 도시 안에 장사되었더라. 그리고 그의 아들 르호보암이 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.

43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
