로마서 8장

1 그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자들에게는 정죄함이 전혀 없나니, 그들은 육신을 따라 살아가지 아니하고 다만 성령을 따라 살아가느니라.

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 영의 법이 나를 죄와 사망의 법으로부터 자유롭게 하였기 때문이라.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 이는 율법이 육신을 통해서는 약하였으므로 율법이 할 수 없던 것을, 하나님께서는 죄로 인하여 자기 자신의 아들을 죄 있는 육신과 같은 모습으로 보내시어, 육신 안에 있는 죄를 정죄하셨기 때문이라.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 이는 율법의 의가 우리 안에 성취되게 하려 하심이라. 우리는 육신을 따라 살아가지 아니하고 다만 성령을 따라 살아가느니라.

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 이는 육신을 따르는 자들은 육신에 속한 것들을 생각하지만 성령을 따르는 자들은 성령께 속한 것들을 생각하기 때문이라.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 이는 육신적으로 생각하게 되는 것은 사망이나 영적으로 생각하게 되는 것은 생명과 화평이기 때문이라.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 이는 육신적인 생각은 하나님을 대적하여 원수가 되기 때문이니, 그 생각이 하나님의 법에 복종하지 아니하며 정녕 복종할 수도 없기 때문이라.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 그렇기에 육신 안에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘게 해 드릴 수 없느니라.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 그러나 하나님의 영께서 너희 안에 거하신다면 너희는 육신 안에 있지 아니하고, 오직 성령 안에 있느니라. 이제 만일 어떤 사람에게 그리스도의 영이 없다면 그는 전혀 그분께 속한 자가 아니니라.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 그리고 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계신다면 몸은 죄로 인하여 죽었으나 성령은 의로 인하여 생명이 되시느니라.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 그러나 예수님을 죽은 자들로부터 일으키신 분의 영께서 너희 안에 거하신다면, 그리스도를 죽은 자들로부터 일으키신 분께서는 너희의 죽을 수밖에 없는 몸까지도 너희 안에 거하시는 그분의 영을 통하여 되살아나게 하시리라.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 형제들아, 그러므로 우리가 빚진 자들이나 육신을 따라 살도록 육신에 빚진 것은 아니니라.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 이는 만일 너희가 육신을 따라 산다면 너희는 죽을 것이기 때문이라. 그러나 만일 너희가 성령을 통하여 몸의 행실들을 죽이면 너희는 살리라.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 이는 하나님의 영에 의하여 인도를 받는 자들은 모두 하나님의 아들들이기 때문이라.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 이는 너희가 두려움에 이르는 속박의 영을 다시금 받은 것이 아니기 때문이라. 그러나 입양의 영을 너희가 받았으니, 그분을 통하여 우리는 ‘아바, 아버지’라고 부르짖느니라.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 우리가 하나님의 자녀들임을 성령 그 자체께서 우리의 영과 함께 증거하시느니라.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 그리고 자녀라면 그때는 상속자들이니, 하나님의 상속자들이자 그리스도와 함께한 공동 상속자들이라. 만일 그리하여 우리가 그분과 함께 고통받는다면, 우리는 함께 영광도 받게 되리라.

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 이는 이 현시대의 수난들이 우리 안에 나타날 영광과 비교될 만한 가치가 없다고 내가 간주하기 때문이라.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 이는 창조물의 열렬한 기대가 하나님의 아들들이 명백하게 나타나는 것을 기다리고 있기 때문이라.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 이는 창조물이 자원하여 헛된 것에 굴복하게 된 것이 아니요, 오히려 그 창조물을 소망 안에서 굴복시키시는 분 때문이니,

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 창조물 그 자체도 썩어짐의 속박에서 구해 냄을 받아 하나님의 자녀들의 영광스러운 자유에 이를 것이기 때문이라.

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 이는 창조 세계 전체가 지금까지 고통으로 함께 신음하며 산고를 치르고 있음을 우리가 알기 때문이라.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 그리고 그들뿐만 아니라 성령의 첫 열매들을 소유한 우리 자신도 그러하니, 바로 우리 스스로도 우리 자신 안에서 신음하며 입양을 기다리고 있으니, 곧 우리 몸의 구속이라.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 이는 우리가 소망에 의하여 구원받았기 때문이라. 그러나 보이는 소망은 소망이 아니니라. 그러므로 사람이 보는 것을 어찌하여 그가 여전히 소망하고 있느냐?

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 그러나 만일 우리가 자신이 보지 못하는 것을 소망한다면 그때 우리는 그것을 인내를 가지고 기다리느니라.

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26 마찬가지로 성령께서도 우리의 연약함들을 도우시나니, 우리가 마땅히 기도해야 할 바를 우리 자신이 모르기 때문이라. 그러나 성령 그 자체께서 말로 표현될 수 없는 신음들로 우리를 위하여 중보하시느니라.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 그리고 마음들을 살피시는 분께서 성령의 생각이 어떠한지를 아시나니, 그분께서 하나님의 뜻에 따라 성도들을 위하여 중보하시기 때문이라.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 그런즉 우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자들에게, 곧 그분의 목적대로 부르심을 받은 자들에게는 모든 것들이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 이는 그분께서 또한 자신이 미리 아신 자들을 그분의 아들의 형상과 일치되게 하시려고 예정하셨기 때문이니, 그분으로 하여금 많은 형제들 가운데 첫째로 나신 분이 되게 하려 하심이라.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 이뿐만 아니라 그분께서는 자신이 예정하신 자들을 또한 부르셨도다. 그리고 그분께서는 자신이 부르신 자들의 정당함을 또한 입증하셨도다. 그리고 그분께서는 자신이 그 정당함을 입증하신 자들을 또한 영광스럽게 하셨도다.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 그렇다면 우리가 이런 것들에 대하여 무슨 말을 하겠느냐? 하나님께서 우리를 위하신다면 누가 우리를 대적할 수 있겠느냐?

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 자기 자신의 아들을 아껴 두지 아니하시고 오히려 우리 모두를 위하여 그분을 넘겨주신 분께서 어찌 친히 그 아들과 함께 또한 모든 것들을 우리에게 값없이 주지 아니하시겠느냐?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 하나님께 택함받은 자들에게 누가 어떤 것으로 혐의를 씌우리오? 정당함을 입증하시는 분은 하나님이시로다.

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 정죄하는 자는 누구냐? 죽으신 분은 그리스도시니, 진정, 오히려 다시 살아나셨도다. 그분께서는 바로 하나님의 오른편에 계시며, 또한 우리를 위하여 중보하시는도다.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 분리시키겠느냐? 환란이나 괴로움이나 박해나 기근이나 헐벗음이나 위기나 칼이랴?

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 기록된 바와 같으니, “당신을 위하여 우리가 온종일 죽임을 당하였으며 우리가 도살당할 양들같이 여겨졌나이다.” 하였도다.

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 이뿐만 아니라 이 모든 것들 가운데 우리는 우리를 사랑하신 그분을 통하여 정복자들보다 더 나으니라.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 이는 내가 확신하게 되기 때문이니, 곧 죽음이나 생명이나 천사들이나 정사들이나 권능들이나 현재의 것들이나 다가올 것들이나

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 높음이나 깊음이나 어떠한 다른 창조물이라도 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑으로부터 우리를 분리시킬 수 없으리라.

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
