사사기 4장

1 이후에 에훗이 죽자 이스라엘 자녀들이 다시 주의 목전에 악을 행하였더라.

1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.

2 그러자 주께서 가나안 왕 야빈의 손안에 그들을 파셨으니, 그가 하졸에서 통치하였더라. 그의 군대 대장은 시스라였고 그는 이방인들의 하로솃에 거하였더라.

2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

3 이에 이스라엘 자녀들이 주께 부르짖었더라. 이는 그가 구백 대의 철 병거들을 보유하였기 때문이라. 그리고 그는 이십 년 동안 이스라엘 자녀들을 강력하게 압제하였더라.

3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

4 ¶ 그리고 여예언자이자 라피돗의 아내인 드보라, 그녀가 그때에 이스라엘을 재판하였더라.

4 ¶ And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

5 그리고 그녀는 에프라임산 속에 있는 라마흐와 벧엘 사이에서 드보라의 종려나무 아래에 거하였더라. 그런즉 이스라엘 자녀들은 재판을 위하여 그녀에게 올라왔더라.

5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

6 그리고 그녀가 사람을 보내 케데시납탈리에서 아비노암의 아들 바락을 부르며 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “이스라엘의 주 하나님께서 명령하지 아니하셨나이까? 주께서 이같이 말씀하셨나이다. ‘가서 타볼산을 향하여 이동하고 납탈리 자녀들과 스불룬 자녀들 중에서 일만 명의 남자들을 너의 곁에 데리고 가라.

6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

7 그리하면 내가 키숀강까지 야빈의 군사 대장 시스라를 그의 병거들과 그의 무리와 함께 너에게로 끌어오겠노라. 그리하여 내가 너의 손안에 그를 넘기겠노라.’”

7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.

8 그러자 바락이 그녀에게 말하기를, “만일 당신이 나와 함께 가려 한다면 그때는 내가 가겠나이다. 그러나 만일 당신이 나와 함께 가지 아니하려 한다면 그때는 내가 가지 아니하겠나이다.” 하였더라.

8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

9 이에 그녀가 말하기를, “내가 반드시 당신과 함께 가겠나이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 당신이 오르는 여정은 당신의 영예가 되지 아니하리이다. 이는 주께서 한 여자의 손안에 시스라를 파실 것이기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라. 그리하여 드보라가 일어나 바락과 함께 케데시로 갔더라.

9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10 ¶ 그리고 바락이 스불룬과 납탈리를 케데시로 불렀더라. 그런 다음에 그가 자신의 두 발 아래에 일만 명의 장정들을 거느리고 올라갔더라. 또 드보라도 그와 함께 올라갔더라.

10 ¶ And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.

11 이때 모세의 장인인 호밥의 후손들에 속한 켄족 헤벨이 켄족들로부터 스스로 갈라져 나와서 자아나임 평야에 그의 천막을 쳤으니, 그곳은 케데시 옆에 있느니라.

11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

12 한편 아비노암의 아들 바락이 타볼산에 올라간 것을 그들이 시스라에게 고하였더라.

12 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.

13 그러자 시스라가 그의 모든 병거들, 곧 철 병거들 구백 대를 함께 모았고 그와 함께 있던 모든 백성을 이방인들의 하로솃부터 키숀강까지 모았더라.

13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.

14 이윽고 드보라가 바락에게 말하기를, “올라가라. 이는 이날이 주께서 시스라를 너의 손안에 넘기신 날이기 때문이라. 주께서 네 앞에 가지 아니하셨느냐?” 하였더라. 그렇게 하여 바락이 타볼산에서 내려갔고 일만 명의 장정들이 그를 따라 내려갔더라.

14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 그리하여 주께서 시스라와 그의 모든 병거들과 그의 모든 군대를 바락 앞에서 칼날로 패주시키셨더라. 그렇게 하여 시스라가 그의 병거에서 내려 그의 두 발로 도망쳤더라.

15 And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

16 그러나 바락이 병거들의 뒤를 추격하며 군사의 뒤를 추격하였으니, 이방인들의 하로솃에 이르렀더라. 그리고 시스라의 모든 군대는 칼날에 쓰러졌고 거기에는 한 사람도 남지 아니하였더라.

16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.

17 하지만 시스라는 그의 두 발로 도망쳐서 켄족 헤벨의 아내 야엘의 천막에 이르렀더라. 이는 하졸 왕 야빈과 켄족 헤벨의 집 사이에 화평이 있었기 때문이라.

17 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18 ¶ 그러자 야엘이 시스라를 맞이하러 나가서 그에게 말하기를, “나의 주여, 안으로 드소서. 제 쪽으로 들어오소서. 두려워하지 마소서.” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 그녀 쪽으로 돌이켜 천막 안으로 들어갔을 때, 그녀가 그를 덧옷으로 덮어 주었더라.

18 ¶ And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

19 그리고 그가 그녀에게 말하기를, “내가 그대에게 간구하노니, 나에게 마실 물을 좀 달라. 이는 내가 목마르기 때문이라.” 하였더라. 그러자 그녀가 젖 부대를 열어서 그에게 음료를 주고 그를 덮어 주었더라.

19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

20 다시금 그가 그녀에게 이같이 말하였더라. “천막 문 안에 서 있으라. 그러다가 어떤 사람이 와서 너에게 조사하며 말하기를, ‘여기에 어떤 남자가 있느냐?’ 할 때면 이러한 일이 있을지니, 너는 ‘없노라.’ 하고 말할지니라.”

20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

21 그때 헤벨의 아내 야엘이 천막의 못을 취하고 그녀의 손에 망치를 들었으니, 그에게 조용히 가 못을 쳐서 그의 두 관자놀이를 관통하여 박았고 그것을 땅바닥 속에 고정하였더라. 이는 그가 곧바로 잠들었고 지쳤기 때문이라. 그렇게 하여 그가 죽었더라.

21 Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

22 그런데 보라, 바락이 시스라를 추격하는 동안 야엘이 그를 맞이하러 나와서 그에게 말하기를, “오소서, 당신께서 찾고 계신 남자를 제가 당신께 보여 드리겠나이다.” 하였더라. 그리하여 그가 그녀의 천막 안으로 들어왔을 때, 보라, 시스라가 죽은 채 누워 있었고 못이 그의 두 관자놀이 속에 박혀 있었더라.

22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.

23 그렇게 하여 하나님께서 그날에 가나안 왕 야빈을 이스라엘 자녀들 앞에서 굴복하게 하셨더라.

23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

24 그리하여 이스라엘 자녀들의 손이 번영하였고 가나안 왕 야빈에게 승리하였으니, 마침내 그들이 가나안 왕 야빈을 멸하였더라.

24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
