열왕기하 12장

1 예후의 제칠년에 여호아시가 통치하기 시작하였더라. 그리고 사십 년 동안 그가 예루살렘에서 통치하였더라. 그리고 그의 어머니의 이름은 베르셰바 출신의 지비야였더라.

1 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

2 그리고 여호아시는 제사장 여호야다가 그를 지도한 그의 모든 날들 동안 주의 목전에 옳은 것을 행하였더라.

2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

3 그러나 높은 처소들은 제거되지 아니하였으니 백성이 여전히 높은 처소들 안에서 희생 제물을 드리고 향을 태웠더라.

3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

4 ¶ 이후에 여호아시가 제사장들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “주의 집 안으로 들여지는 봉헌된 것들에 속한 모든 돈, 곧 회계를 거치는 모든 개개인에게 속한 돈과, 모든 개개인에게 정해진 돈과, 주의 집 안으로 들이려고 어떤 사람의 마음속에 들어온 모든 돈은,

4 ¶ And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,

5 제사장들 각인이 모두 자기 친지에게서 취하게 하라. 그리고 그들이 그 집의 파손된 곳들을 수리하게 하되, 어떤 파손이 발견된 모든 곳마다 수리하라.”

5 Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

6 그러나 그것이 그렇게 되었으니, 여호아시왕의 제이십삼년이 될 때까지 제사장들이 그 집의 파손된 곳들을 수리하지 아니하였더라.

6 But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

7 그때 여호아시왕이 제사장 여호야다와 다른 제사장들을 불렀고 그들에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 너희는 그 집의 파손된 곳들을 수리하지 아니하느냐? 그러므로 이제 너희의 친지에게서 더 이상 돈을 받지 말고 그것을 그 집의 파손된 곳들을 수리하도록 넘겨주라.” 하였더라.

7 Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

8 그러자 제사장들이 백성의 돈을 더 이상 받지 아니하고 그 집의 파손된 것들도 수리하지 아니하기로 의견을 모았더라.

8 And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

9 그러나 제사장 여호야다가 궤짝 하나를 가져다가 그것의 뚜껑에다가 한 구멍을 뚫었고, 그것을 누군가 주의 집 안으로 들어올 때 오른편에 있도록 제단 옆에 배치하였더라. 그리고 문을 지키던 제사장들이 주의 집 안으로 들여진 모든 돈을 그 안에 담았더라.

9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.

10 그리고 그들이 궤짝 안에 많은 돈이 담긴 것을 보았을 때 이와 같은 일이 있었으니 왕의 서기관과 대제사장이 올라왔고 그들이 돈을 가방들 안에 담은 다음 주의 집 안에서 얻어진 그 돈을 세었더라.

10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.

11 그런 다음에 그들은 세어진 그 돈을 주의 집의 감독권을 가지고 공사를 집행하는 자들의 손안에 주었더라. 그러자 그들이 주의 집 위에서 일한 목수들과 건축자들에게 그것을 지출하였고,

11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,

12 석공들과 채석공들에게 지출하였으며, 주의 집의 파손된 곳들을 수리하기 위해 재목과 절단된 돌을 구입하는 데 지출하였으니, 그것을 수리하기 위해 그 집을 위하여 지출된 모든 것에 쓰였더라.

12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

13 하지만 주의 집 안으로 들여진 돈으로는 주의 집을 위한 은 대접들과 불집게들과 대야들과 나팔들도, 어떠한 금 기물들이나 은 기물들도 만들어지지 아니하였더라.

13 Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:

14 그러나 그들이 기술자들에게 그 돈을 주었고 그것으로 주의 집을 수리하였더라.

14 But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.

15 이뿐만 아니라 그들은 그 사람들, 곧 자신들이 그들의 손에 기술자들에게 지불하기 위한 그 돈을 넘겨 준 자들과 금액을 따져 보지 아니하였으니, 그들이 신실하게 다루었기 때문이라.

15 Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

16 범법 청구금과 속죄 청구금은 주의 집 안으로 들이지 아니하였더라. 그것은 제사장들의 것이었더라.

16 The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.

17 ¶ 그때 시리아 왕 하자엘이 올라갔고 가드를 대적하여 싸웠으며 그곳을 점령하였더라. 그리고 하자엘이 자기 얼굴을 예루살렘으로 올라가려고 고정하였더라.

17 ¶ Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

18 그러자 여호아시의 조상들이자 유다의 왕들인 여호샤팟과 여호람과 아하지야가 봉헌한 모든 거룩하게 된 것들과, 자신이 소유한 거룩하게 된 것과, 주의 집의 보물 창고들과 왕의 집 안에서 발견된 모든 금을 유다 왕 여호아시가 취하여 그것을 시리아 왕 하자엘에게 보냈더라. 이에 하자엘이 예루살렘에서 떠나갔더라.

18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

19 ¶ 그리고 요아시의 행적들 중 나머지와 그가 행한 모든 것, 그것들이 유다 왕들의 연대기들의 책 안에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?

19 ¶ And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 이후에 그의 종들이 들고일어나서 모반을 일으켰고 밀로의 집 안에서 요아시를 살해하였으니, 밀로는 실-라로 내려가는 곳이라.

20 And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

21 그의 종들인, 시므앗의 아들 요자칼과 쇼멜의 아들 여호자밧이 그를 쳤기 때문에 그가 죽었더라. 그러고 나서 그들이 그를 다윗의 도시 안에 있는 그의 조상들과 함께 장사하였더라. 그리고 그의 아들 아마지야가 그를 대신하여 통치하였더라.

21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
