열왕기하 17장

1 유다 왕 아하즈의 제십이년에 엘라의 아들 호셰아가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하여 구 년 동안 지속하였더라.

1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

2 그리고 그가 주의 목전에 악한 것을 행하였으나 그의 앞에 있었던 이스라엘 왕들과 같지는 아니하였더라.

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

3 그를 대적하여 아시리아 왕 샬만에셀이 올라왔더라. 그리하여 호셰아가 그의 종이 되었고 그에게 증여물들을 주었더라.

3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

4 이후에 아시리아 왕이 호셰아에게서 음모를 발견하였더라. 이는 그가 이집트 왕 소에게 전령들을 보냈고 그가 해마다 하던 대로 아시리아 왕에게 증여물을 가져오지 아니하였기 때문이라. 그러므로 아시리아 왕이 그를 가두었고 그를 감옥 안에서 결박하였더라.

4 And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

5 ¶ 그때 아시리아 왕이 올라와서 전 영토를 구석구석 다녔고 사마리아로 올라가서 그곳을 삼 년 동안 포위하였더라.

5 ¶ Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

6 ¶ 호셰아의 제구년에 아시리아 왕이 사마리아를 점령하였고 이스라엘을 아시리아로 멀리 이동시켰으며 할라 안과 고잔의 강가에 있는 하볼 안과 메데 사람들의 도시들 안에 그들을 위치시켰더라.

6 ¶ In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

7 그 일이 그렇게 된 것은 이스라엘 자녀들이 그들을 이집트 지역에서 데리고 올라오시고 이집트 왕 파라오의 수하에서 꺼내 주신 주 그들의 하나님을 대적하여 죄를 짓고 다른 신들을 두려워하여

7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

8 주께서 이스라엘 자녀들 앞에서 쫓아내신 이교도들의 규례들과 이스라엘 왕들이 제정한 그들의 규례들 안에서 살아갔기 때문이라.

8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

9 그리고 이스라엘 자녀들은 주 그들의 하나님을 대적하여 옳지 않은 그 짓들을 비밀스럽게 행하였으며, 그들은 그들의 모든 도시들 안에다 파수꾼들의 망대로부터 방비가 강화된 도시에까지 자신들에게 높은 처소들을 지어 두었더라.

9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

10 그리고 그들은 모든 높은 언덕마다, 또 모든 푸른 나무 아래마다 형상들과 작은 수풀들을 자신들에게 세워 두었더라.

10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

11 그리고 그들은 주께서 그들 앞에서 휩쓸어 버리신 이교도들이 행한 대로 거기 모든 높은 처소들 안에서 향을 태웠으며, 주께 분노를 일으키는 사악한 짓들을 벌였더라.

11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:

12 이는 그들이 우상들을 섬겼기 때문이니, 그것들에 관하여 주께서 그들에게 앞서 말씀하시기를, “너희는 이런 짓을 하지 말지니라.” 하셨느니라.

12 For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

13 그럼에도 주께서는 모든 예언자들과 모든 선견자들을 통하여 이스라엘과 유다를 대적하여 증언하여 말씀하시기를, “너희는 너희의 악한 길들에서 돌이켜 내가 너희 조상들에게 명령하고, 내가 예언자들인 나의 종들을 통하여 너희에게 보낸 모든 율법에 따라 나의 명령들과 나의 규례들을 지키라.” 하셨느니라.

13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

14 그럼에도 불구하고 그들은 들으려 하지 아니하였고 오히려 주 그들의 하나님을 믿지 아니하였던, 그들 조상들의 고개같이 자신들의 고개를 꼿꼿하게 하였더라.

14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

15 그리고 그들은 그분의 규례들과, 그분께서 그들의 조상들과 제정하신 그분의 언약과, 그분께서 그들을 대적하여 증언하신 그분의 증언들을 거절하였더라. 그러면서도 그들은 헛된 것을 따랐다가 공허해졌으며 그들 주위에 있었던 이교도들을 좇아갔으니, 이교도들에 관해서는 주께서 그들에게 앞서 명하시어 그들이 저들처럼 행해서는 안 된다고 하신 자들이었더라.

15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

16 그리고 그들은 주 그들의 하나님의 모든 명령들을 버려두었고 주조된 형상들, 곧 두 송아지들을 자신들에게 만들어 두었으며 한 작은 수풀을 만들었고 하늘의 모든 군대에게 경배하였으며 바알을 섬겼더라.

16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17 그리고 그들은 그들의 아들들과 그들의 딸들로 하여금 불을 통과하게 하였고 점술과 마력들을 사용하였으며, 자신들을 팔아 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 그분께 분노를 일으켰더라.

17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

18 그러므로 주께서 이스라엘에게 몹시 분노하셨고 그들을 그분의 목전에서 치워 버리셨더라. 오로지 유다 지파 외에 아무도 남지 아니하였더라.

18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

19 유다 역시 주 그들의 하나님의 명령들을 지키지 아니하였고, 다만 이스라엘이 제정한 그들의 법규들 안에서 살아갔더라.

19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.

20 그리고 주께서 이스라엘의 모든 씨를 거절하셨고 그들에게 고난을 주셨으며 약탈자들의 손안에 그들을 넘기셨으니, 그분께서 자신의 목전에서 그들을 쫓아내실 때까지 그리하셨더라.

20 And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

21 이는 그분께서 다윗의 집으로부터 이스라엘을 찢어 내셨기 때문이라. 그리하여 그들이 느밧의 아들 여로보암을 왕으로 삼았더라. 그런데 여로보암이 주를 따르는 데서 이스라엘을 몰아냈고 그들로 하여금 엄청난 죄를 짓게 만들었더라.

21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

22 이는 이스라엘 자녀들이 여로보암이 행한 그의 모든 죄들 가운데 살아갔기 때문이라. 그들이 그것들로부터 떠나지 아니하였더라.

22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;

23 주께서 예언자들인, 자신의 모든 종들을 통하여 말씀하신 대로 친히 자신의 목전에서 이스라엘을 치우실 때까지 그리하였더라. 그렇게 하여 이스라엘이 그들의 본토에서 아시리아로 멀리 끌려갔으니, 오늘날에 이르니라.

23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

24 ¶ 그리고 바빌론과 쿠다와 아와와 하맛과 스팔와임으로부터 아시리아 왕이 사람들을 데려왔고, 이스라엘 자녀들을 대신하여 사마리아의 도시들 안에 그들을 위치시켰더라. 그러고 나서 그들이 사마리아를 차지하고 그곳의 도시들 안에 거하였더라.

24 ¶ And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

25 그런데 그들이 거기에 거하기 시작할 때 이와 같은 일이 있었으니, 그들이 주를 두려워하지 아니하였더라. 그러므로 주께서 그들 사이에 사자들을 보내셔서 사자들이 그들 중 일부를 잡아죽였더라.

25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

26 이러한 이유로 그들이 아시리아 왕에게 일러 말하기를, “당신께서 이주시키시어 사마리아의 도시들 안에 위치시키신 민족들이 그 지역의 하나님의 예법을 모르나이다. 그러므로 그분께서 그들 사이에 사자들을 보내셨으니, 보소서, 그들이 그 지역의 하나님의 예법을 모르는 까닭에 그것들이 그들을 잡아죽였나이다.” 하였더라.

26 Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

27 그때 아시리아 왕이 명령하며 말하기를, “너희가 거기에서 데려온 제사장들 중 한 명을 그리 이동시키라. 그리하여 그들이 가서 거기에 거하게 하고 그가 그 지역의 하나님의 예법을 그들에게 가르치게 하라.” 하였더라.

27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

28 비로소 그들이 사마리아로부터 멀리 이동시킨 제사장들 중 한 명이 벧엘에 와서 거하였고, 어떻게 그들이 주를 두려워해야 하는지를 그들에게 가르쳤더라.

28 Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

29 하지만 모든 민족마다 그들 고유의 신들을 만들었고 그것들을 사마리아인들이 만든 높은 처소들의 집들 안에 두었으며, 모든 민족마다 그들이 거한 그들의 도시들 안에 두었더라.

29 Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.

30 그런즉 바빌론 사람들은 숙콧브놋을 만들었고 쿳 사람들은 네르갈을 만들었으며 하맛 사람들은 아시마를 만들었고,

30 And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

31 아와족들은 닙하즈와 타르탁을 만들었으며 스팔와족들은 그들의 자식들을 스팔와임의 신들인 아드람멜렉과 아남멜렉에게 불로 태워 바쳤더라.

31 And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

32 이처럼 그들이 주를 두려워하였는데 그들 중 가장 낮은 자들을 높은 처소들의 제사장들로 삼아 자신들에게 두었으니, 그 제사장들이 높은 처소들의 집들 안에서 그들을 위하여 희생 제물을 바쳤더라.

32 So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

33 그들이 주를 두려워하였고 그들 자신의 신들도 섬겼으니, 그들이 본래 장소에서 잡아온 민족들의 풍습에 따라 그리하였더라.

33 They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

34 오늘날까지 그들이 이전 풍습들에 따라 행하니라. 그들은 주를 두려워하지 아니하였으며, 그들은 그들의 규례들을 따르거나 그들의 법령들을 따르거나 주께서 친히 이스라엘이라 명명하신 야곱의 자녀들에게 명령하신 율법과 명령을 따르지도 아니하였더라.

34 Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

35 주께서는 이스라엘과 앞서 언약을 맺으셨고 그들에게 명하시며 말씀하시기를, “너희는 다른 신들을 두려워하지 말고, 그들에게 너희 몸을 숙여 절하지도, 그들을 섬기지도, 그들에게 희생 제물을 바치지도 말지니라.

35 With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:

36 그러나 위대한 권능과 펼쳐진 팔로 너희를 이집트 지역에서 데리고 올라오신 주, 그를 너희는 두려워할 것이요, 그를 너희가 경배할 것이며, 그에게 너희는 희생 제물을 바칠지니라.

36 But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

37 그리고 그가 너희를 위하여 기록한 규례들과 법령들과 율법과 명령을 너희가 영원무궁토록 준수하여 행할지니라. 그리고 너희는 다른 신들을 두려워하지 말지니라.

37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

38 그리고 내가 너희와 맺은 언약을 너희는 잊지 말지니라. 또한 너희는 다른 신들을 두려워하지 말지니라.

38 And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

39 다만 주 너희 하나님을 너희는 두려워할지니라. 그리하면 그가 너희를 너희의 모든 원수들의 손에서 구출하시리라.” 하셨느니라.

39 But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

40 하지만 그들이 경청하지 아니하였고 오히려 그들은 그들의 이전 풍습을 따라 행하였더라.

40 Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

41 그렇게 하여 이 민족들이 주를 두려워하였고 그들의 새겨진 형상들을 섬겼으니, 그들의 자녀들과 그들의 자녀들의 자녀들도 그리하였더라. 그들의 조상들이 행한 대로 그들이 오늘날까지 그렇게 행하고 있느니라.

41 So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
